  1. PK is definately streaky, but he's typically a quick starter and so far I haven't seen any of that. Colon is looking solid but just isn't getting easy outs yet. At least their is an out now that Vizquel flew out to Maggs. This is going to be one of those games where if you can get a few runs, then you should be in good shape. I hope we kick the crap out of them though and score 20
  2. What an at bat by Milton Bradley. He struck out on a 2-2 pitch but the ump didn't call it a strike and then he kept battling until he hit an opposite field single.
  3. Konerko was looking really lost at the plate. You watch his swing and he just doesn't look comfortable. He's got to start working on going opposite field cause he is looking only for the pull job right now and thats not the way to get your swing right. I think a day off may be best for Konerko with Daubach getting a start.
  4. Clujer is writing one right now I think. PK struck out and he looks lost up their at the plate. Frank drew a walk after being down in the count 0-2. I think he struck out twice though, but got lucky as they called them balls. Then Maggs singled up the middle. Jimenez and Jose both made contact. Jose hit a rope but right at Travis Haffner (1st Base) otherwise it was a double. Jimenez lined one into center but at Milton Bradley.
  5. Bristol don't start their season for a while. What's this about the Great Falls White Sox? Another rookie level? They replaced the Arizona minor leauge team the Sox had.
  6. He was just signed this offseason.

  8. Its foggy but they are playing. They are doing the opening day ceremonies right now. Thank god I got the game on
  9. Picture is coming up for me right now.
  10. Is CC the next Jaret Wright. Another pitcher that Cleveland has ruined because of overpitching him at such a young age?
  11. I'll pass. Liefer has found his slot and I wish him the best. He was terrible for the Sox last year. I know Manuel screwed him up by not playing him enough, but the guy still complained a lot considering what his average was for most of the season. I am not surprised to see Biddle do good though.
  12. Well if Wright is back 100% then Loaiza or Stewart are the ones that would be moved. No way do I move Garland. I was so impressed watching him throw in spring training that I have pretty much decided he'll finish with an era just under 4.00
  13. Ya, I was referring to the players coming out of higschool and college that they have to evaluate. In the minors, they have a it bit easier projecting out players, but its so hard to project them straight from higschool or college. I agree with you with those pitchers having a shorter shelf life. I don't see Weber continuing to be sucessful, but I think Donnelly has pretty darn good stuff. It surprises me that he could slip through the cracks with his type of fastball and life. Then again some guys are injured or they happen to find the proper mechanics later on in life. Still more likely they show up for a year or two and then dissapear, but they always know they gave it their all and all that hard work paid off.
  14. I am definately in favor of a lefthanded power hitter/avg hitter in the middle of the lineup, but I see Joe Borchard as that person later in the year.
  15. And ocassionally like Hudler mentioned a player slips through the cracks and appears for someone else and just sticks. David Eckstein and Paul LoDuca fit that bill and Aaron Miles could fit it for the Sox if things go right. Heck so do Ben Weber and Brandon Donnelly. To me it seems like more pitchers slip through the cracks then hitters. Pretty much everyone in AAA can play ball and with a little luck, the right situation and hard work they could potentially sneak onto a roster and stick, but its just so difficult, especially if you aren't a high pick or aren't hyped/talked about. Those higher picks get the chances ahead because of the money involved and because the scouts "love them", "drool over their tools", etc. Not necessarily saying thats the right way to do it. Of course most minor league scouts are wrong to a point, because its so hard to judge whose going to make the majors and what type of player they are going to turn into. One of the hardest things to tell is how an offensive player will adjust to wood. WIth pitchers its how their arm will develop.
  16. I don't think we need Beltran. We have enough "All-Stars". Rather than tinker, let's have a little faith that the team we expected so much out of will produce. No need to panic after 6 games. I agree with Rex. This team has all the pieces in place. We have a very deep pitching staff (even though its a bit injury riddled with Wright down). We also have an extrordinary bench and well the offense is going to be good, and has the potential to be great. The way I see it worse case scenario our offense is good, the starting rotation is middle of the road (with two aces and the rest of the guys pitching avg), and the bullpen is average to good. If things go right, we have an awesome offense, very good starting rotation, and awesome pitching staff with a deep bench. We also have a catcher that can shut down the running game and two aces that can dominate a game and have proven it, along with a couple other pitchers with the potential to do so. We have a guy that can save a ton of games and if their are serious injuries we have a lot of depth in the organization with Borchard ready in the outfield, Rauch/Diaz/Ginter/Almonte/Sanders/Munoz/Wright/Stewart all their for the starting/bullpen and then Harris/Miles/Hummell in the infield. Sure we don't have much backup at catcher (Burke) but in all honesty pretty much no one does. We have a guy that can call a good game and a guy that can shut down the running game. Things are going to be just fine. This is a very good team and they will go a long way. There is no need to panick, especially considering we swept the Tigers, something we should of done and did do. The sweep by KC hurt, but its just three games and over the long haul thats nothing. This team is way too good and they will show that and will put up above .500 baseball throughout the season and make it to the playoffs and I believe contend for and win the World Series.
  17. Looks like Jim had a shaky outing. Hopefully he'll get back on track in his next start. I'm really interested in how this Yufo guy is. I'll be waiting to hear a report on him Rex once you see him a few times
  18. He's pretty much a career minor leaguer. The Cubs got him from Florida if I recall and then the next year he went onto Colorado. This guy has a solid bat, but I'd say he's another Rosie Brown or something along those lines, but a bit less talented. He isn't very good defensively so it will be hard for him to find a job considering offensively he's yet to prove himself at the major league level. If he ever got back to Florida or to someone like San Diego, Milwalkee or Montreal he could have a shot.
  19. how much allowance does he give ya to defend him heather???????? Well I can't speak for Rex, but lets just say I'll be able to get season tickets for the rest of my life
  20. I agree with Hudler. Their is no reason to be concerned this early. Lee is still showing patience and he has extremely quick hands. There is no reason he shouldn't be successful. Carlos has worked very hard each offseason and is in great shape and confident. I have no doubt that he will come through and put up very impressive numbers, especially for a guy in the 6 hole. At the end of the season you could easily argue that Carlos is more valuable then Konerko (Just because I think Carlos is going to have a monster year).
  21. I don't think he will. Buehrle has a great delivery which should help him. Very smooth and flawless mechanics.
  22. Yep, that is ahead of the player pictures on my list
  23. I am not worried about Lee yet. Give him more then a week. By the end of the month if he's playing that way, Daubach will be the starter and Lee will be playing in another city.
