I still don't get why everyone has jumped on White after one week. This guy has a career era under 4 and was fantastic down the stretch last season with the Cardinals, who were on a playoff run. He also pitched in the postseason. If you ask me, this is just the type of guy we could use, someone with post-season experience. We brought him and Koch in, both who were in the playoffs last season and Colon who was constantly in the playoffs with the tribe. Daubach was always in the race in Boston as well. We got a lot of guys that know how to handle the pressure and are experience with stretch runs which is very helpful.

Thats all I get too. -
Exactly what free agents would be woo'd to Chicago? You'll have to max out both Curry and Chandler to keep them, close to max for one of Williams/Crawford. Rose has 4 years at least on his deal at 11 million or somewhere in there. They'll have pretty much no cap space. Unless you're talking about a minor type free agent. I assume they could trade Rose, but I don't see that happening. Long story short, Jordan has no interest in being a GM. If he wants to comeback as part owner or something like that, fine. I am hoping for Michael Jordan himself

I'm a member of the Big Hurt Fan Club. He's going to be a-ok. Also, the reason Franks numbers decreased were because of injuries and some struggles. Frank was never a guy that really relied on bat speed, imo. He used his eye and massive strength and has never tried to swing for the fences.

The Entire Angels lineup cause they always are killing the Sox. Damn them, damn them. Pedro Martinez cause its just so damn hard to beat that guy.
-
Eyre all of a sudden pulled like a 96 mph fastball out of his butt cause he never had that when he was with the Sox. I know it was one of the reasons he stuck on with San Fran late last season. I'm very happy with Glover though.

Recap: Sox Win in Ten Innings By Mario Scalise April 8, 2003 SoxNet.net Jose Valentin just keeps on coming up big for the White Sox, this time with a 10th inning game-winning RBI-single as the Sox beat the Indians 5-3 on Tuesday. That was Valentin's only hit of the game, but that was good for his team-leading sixth RBI. Starter Bartolo Colon lasted six innings on 109 pitches and received a no decision. Colon gave up two runs, allowed six hits, walked three and struck out six. He is 0-1 with a 3.75 ERA on the season. The two runs came in the second and fifth. The first coming off a one out, fielder's choice grounder by Brandon Phillips with the bases loaded. Colon struck out Milton Bradley to end the inning. Sandy Alomar tied the game at 1-1 in the fifth with his first of three hits, double, scoring Joe Crede. Alomar drove in another run in the seventh off a double, once again scoring Crede to tie the game at 2-2. D'Angelo Jimenez then drove in Alomar with a single, putting the Sox up 3-2. That lead lasted till Cleveland's half of the inning, as reliever Tom Gordon, with the help of Paul Konerko's defense, gave up an Omar Vizquel RBI-double passed Konerko at first. Gordon recorded two outs before the run and left after for Damaso Marte, who struck out Matt Lawton to end the inning. Marte went on to throw a clean eighth inning before getting replaced with no outs and one man on in the ninth. Billy Koch pitched scoreless' ninth and 10th innings to pick up the win. Alomar and Jimenez singled and walked respectively before Valentin's double and Frank Thomas' sacrifice fly put the Sox up 5-3. Crede went 2-4 with two runs scored. The Sox 4-5-6 hitters (Magglio Ordonez, Konerko and Carlos Lee) went a combined 1-12. The game, which was a makeup of Monday's cancellation, was played in front of an opening day crowd of 42,301 at Jacobs Field. Game two of the three-game set will be on Wednesday at 6:05 p.m. CT. Jon Garland will be starting against lefty Brian Anderson.
-
He was a third baseman pretty much full time before those nine games.
-
It was the Warthogs home opener and the game was postponed. No makeup dates have been decided yet. They will play their home opener tomorrow against Lynchburg. I think its a 12:00 pm game.
-
Agreed, plus it couldn't make Detroit any worse, could it?
-
We have a ton of guys ready for this year and next year. Diaz, Ginter, Rauch, Stewart, Almonte, Sanders, Royce Ring, Arnie Munoz, Sanders, etc.
-
But he has to deny any interest as of now. I really believe he will be with the Bulls after the season ends. Think of it this way, no one thought Krause had any healthy issues and he was supposedly very happy. Paxson and BJ Armstrong are both likely to get promotions with them kind of splitting the gm duties, but if Jordan is around and I got a feeling he will be, those two would take lesser roles.
-
Well, the Royals are playing Detroit so they could potentially start the season 8-0.
-
Right now I want the Bears getting one of the 3 qbs and I think they are probably going to have to go with a qb with the 4th pick in the draft whether its Palmer or Leftwich.
-
I think every time Billy enters the game they should play a clip from White Man Can't Jump with that girl saying, Billy
-
Fly out to Carlos Lee.
-
And thats a White Sox Winner 5-3 Sox over Cleveland in 10 innings. Koch gets the win and pitched damn good.
-
Later Steff, don't worry, Billy is going to shut the door and the Sox will go above .500 for the first time this season.
-
Koch now has 2 k's in the inning as he just struck out Ellis Burks. That was a sweet slider he just through to Ellis. Koch has whicked stuff. Like I say if he keeps improving his control he may be the best closer in the majors.
-
2-1, come on Koch, got to throw strikes and get these guys. I am fully confident, lets go Koch. 2-2 Now to Lawton
-
Vizquel starts the inning with a leadoff single. God Omar is hot. forget about him Billy, just worry about the guys up.
-
Maybe we should start calling him Dumbass Camanos
-
Maggs breaks his bat on a high pop up and some more stupid ass baserunning as Jose Valentin keeps running and he gets doubled up. I sure as hell hope that doesn't come back to bite the Sox in the ass.
-
5-3 Sox. Thomas hits one to right field and Jimenez scores on the sac fly by Frank Thomas. One down and Jose on first base. I'd like to see at least one more run.
-
Olivo scores on Jose Valentin single over the first baseman. WHooo hoooo 4-3 Good Guys Runners are now on the corners with no one out and the Big Hurt is up. Now its time for Hurt to get on and Maggs can hit that grand slam for the person out there that keeps calling for it.
