  1. Likewise. Hope it is a non-event for you.
  2. This team is much better (when healthy) and with a real coach. Period. This whole season was a train wreck. Been fun seeing Otto Porter, Lauri, and Wendell back. The system they are running still stinks and I don't know how Valentine stayed on the bench as long as he did (again...Boylen...shakes head). Cleveland sucks and it would have been a good tank loss, but nice to see White in the lineup and a bunch of his turnovers were due to Carter having fumblitis. Ball movement was actually pretty decent. This team had to play a ton of stiffs given the massive injuries to key starters. Atkinson seems like a guy the Bulls would look at.
  3. Fantastic - Noah back in league with Clippers. I love me some Joakim!
  4. Kaplan...who has consistently been the first to report most of the Bulls reworking of the front office, is reporting that Presti is at the top of Bulls list and that money will not be an object (prepared to pay what it takes). I am not going to lie...get players healthy...land someone like Presti...hire new coach....figure out how Presti churns roster and makes move. It isn't like we have albatross contracts (outside of Porter Jr., who is a good player, with health issues). Lavine's contract is a bargain and while Carter Jr, White, and Lauri have there challenges, they also have upside and certainly can be packaged for others. While the assets Bulls have don't quickly position them to be a really strong team, at the same time, a creative GM still has stuff to work with where things could reshuffle faster than we might think.
  5. Above average with the bat and you are talking about one of the top 3 CF'ers in the game and a 5 WAR type of player.
  6. I will caveat, if I was Brady, I would be all over the Bears pitch.
  7. I'm not annoyed. Brady just doesn't have a lot of time left (and I'm like Brady's #1 fan) and while there was a lot to blame for the Patriots offense struggling, I do think Brady was part of that issue (meaning, he is no longer a top 3 QB). The only guy I think it is annoying we aren't evaluating is Cam. I say that because if he's healthy he still has a number of years of upside in his game. That said, he probably isn't the best fit for Nagy's system/scheme. Ultimately I think the best strategy is see if Mitch is the guy and have a solid back-up in place who can be used to evaluate other things. If Mitch isn't the guy, than you need to swing big again in the draft or stick with a solid veteran (manageable QB) and focus on having a stellar defense and good pieces surrounding the offense (good ground game, etc).
  8. Mokoka was freaking stellar on Luca. Looked like rookie / 2nd year Jimmy Buckets on D. Bulls finally beat a good team. OPJ had a really nice game back. Boylen has proven to be a clown but man, I still think this team would have been substantially better if it had all of its pieces. Bad idea though since it is the Bulls and their training staff.
  9. Like I said...they are never going to all play together.
  10. HE is probably a more realistic version of who the Bears go for. He'd sign as a backup but is someone the Bears could turn to in the short-term if Mitch is real bad. I don't think they are going to target a true starter this year? The odd part is, this would be the year to do it with some of the guys possibly out there (Cam / Winston / Carr, etc). I presume a Foles / Mariotta is who they get. Dalton, if he is okay not being handed a starting job (which I can't imagine will be the case).
  11. What are the odds that Carter Jr, Porter Jr, Lavine, White, and Lauri can all finish out the rest of the season? Carter Jr. had his first game back over the weekend, Porter Jr. is back this week, and Lauri is probably back on Wednesday. I know it will take them a handful of games to even get their injury rust off, but how quickly will they all go back down?
  12. This is probably the most unlikely Bulls teams in franchise history. Awful.
  13. They should start White with Lavine and Sharp. Might as well give him more minutes.
  14. Boylen had a run in with Lavine. I wonder if Jim makes it another few games. Seven guys out, Boylen a disaster. Only bright side is some front office change, a new head coach, and maybe the Bulls get healthy and show they aren’t as bad as their record indicates so they can find there way to post season next year. I will still say they are a near .500 team with all their chips but when everyone is injury prone it doesn’t matter.
  15. Wow - I heard someone hint that the Bears could already be getting Carr. Apparently there is a lot of pent up moves while the league waits for the potential finalization of the CBA (I hope they reach an agreement this early...would be great to know there won't be any near term stoppages).
  16. IF the Bears get a new QB this year, my gut would be on Carr/Stafford. The nice thing with Carr is, his contract is like $19M/yr which is actually pretty reasonable, albeit, I think he has a big cap hit this year.
  17. Derek Carr wouldn't be a backup QB. I have long felt that Carr to the Bears would make a decent amount of sense. He's solid, maybe a bit more upside than downside to be honest (I think a change in scenery does him good) and it gives the Bears nice protection.
  18. Some pretty exciting Bulls nuggets coming out today. One report from Kaplan indicating Bulls are ready to pay good money to a GM, with some believing Sam Presti would have a desire to leave OKC for the bigger stage of Chicago. Another report from KC Johnson indicating Bulls are interested in the Pacers GM (who has done a nice job in Indiana). Hopefully there is some smoke to this as these would be nice signs and really good outside hires, imo.
  19. Caufield...how are you holding up?
  20. And again...in Bulls news....Hutch out with shoulder injury (again). Dude starts to show some positive signs and is always hurt. Only good thing out of this season has been Lavine...so I'm now waiting for the next shoe to drop and it will be Lavine out for the year or something stupid.
  21. I 100% believe this report. The hard part to me is how Gar is just getting reassigned. I could stomach things better if Gar was out and a new guy was in (even if it is still under Pax).
  22. In other news, it sounds like Dunn's injury might be season ending.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Thoughts and prayers with you and your family.
  24. They absolutely need to evaluate everything. That includes the front office who might be ignoring the fact that certain players are more prone to injuries.
