  1. http://www.chisport.com The Show is tonight (Monday) at 7:00 central time. Check Matt out. He's a hockey expert, but knows other sport stuff as well. Last weeks show was hillarious. You can email him at [email protected]
  2. Thats cool Jim. Were all pulling for you here. As far as needles go, I know what you mean, I dread the days I have to go in for my physical when they draw blood. Glad to hear about the positive vibe. I've been feeling the same thing all off-season, but I seem to feel it every season. Best of luck and hopefully I'll get to see you pitch when I'm out there. It would be sweet if Kris started posting here. I think everyone here is rooting for all the Sox minor league guys to develop. Of course I'm rooting for that tall pitcher out of Santa Barbara
  3. Thats great to hear Jim. You having fun down there in Arizona? I just finalized my plans today, I'll be there March 6th till the 9th. I'm gonna make sure to say Hi to you
  4. That would be the time, to start it this year. Mark, gather all the info on it and we'll talk tonight or tomorrow.
  5. I'm loving the idea of hitting Caballo in the 2 hole. I think it could be one of the best moves Manuel has made in a long time. Carlos is quick, can produce and if his patience at the plate continues to improve will have a very high obp. Plus it means we have a left handed bat back in the lineup. Could you imagine if Carlos continued upon last years 2nd half success. He could have an obp over .400 in the 2 hole with Frank, Maggs, PK and Manos there to knock him in. THen if Jimenez developed into .380 or so this season (Possible, although he may round out more like .360) then we'd have a heck of a top of the lineup.

    Twins, Sox

That was a really good article by Phil. I agree with most of the stuff he said. I think a lot of people will learn a whole lot about the White Sox and I'm referring to both those that don't follow them in the city and the national market. They will know who Maggs, Konerko, Buerhle, Garland, Wright and etc are. Hopefully they can put it all together.

Call the Sox up and ask.
  8. That sounds real sweet. I think the keeper players should be at a pretty high volume, simply because you may have prospects down in the minors or something that shouldn't count towards your roster, etc.
  9. Its why I have so much respect for minor leaguers. A lot of them get paid next to nothing over the course of a season and then have to take full time jobs during the offseason. Now the first couple rounds don't have to worry as much cause of signing bonuses, but everything past that you have to have a lot of will and heart to keep on going. I heard an interview with some lower level minor league players in the Padres organization and they said they get like 6000-7000 a season. That ain't much considering its like 7 months of the year. I'm sure it varies from team to team though.
  10. Lol Baggs I read the story on his accident a while back and man Aaron as lucky to live. He fell like 20 feet or something and absolutely crushed his shoulder. He's really lucky to still be playing and I hope he makes the best out of it cause I think he's a good player.
  11. Frank likes JR or at least they seem to agree on a lot of issues. JR has always treated him right giving him great contracts and long term security and Thomas rewared him signing under market value. The two sides agreed once again. Deep down, Frank is a good guy. He's not a good teammate. If he shuts up then he's a wash. Not good, not bad. If he's yapping then he'll always be a bad teammate because it gives the media something bad to talk about. At least thats the case if the players let the media effect there physce (However you spell it). IF the team can put out what the media says and just stick with what they themselves know, then it will be fine. The question is what kind of people; both players and coaches do the Sox have? Think of it like highschool, a bunch of gossip goes around, but your friends know whats true and whats not and they don't judge you by that. Your team-mates should know most of that as well, the question is do they judge you and let it effect chemistry?
  12. Its excellent stuff. Baggs, I think you and I are going to be very Wright once Danny develops into a frontline pitcher. The guy can be a serious workhorse and has great stuff. If him and Garland really develop a ton this year, we know both can become aces. Then the Sox may let Colon go. Either way, I think the key towards this season and next will rest in those pitchers as well as Rauch cause it is pitching that wins games.
  13. We resigned him cause he's a great backup plan. We know what we have in Kelly and the Sox are now going to decide if they have better. If so, then they can easily move him for a quality player in return. I'm thinking catcher. Almost every team in baseball could use a good lefty reliever, especially one who makes next to nothing.
  14. lol yea it worked for them.. look at what guys like griff and pay rod have done since their departure.........absoultely nothing.........lol..........addition by subtraction always works out well......... HSC...Griffey hit 40 homers a year after his departure from Seattle, got hurt, and hasn't played fulltime since. However, ARod hit .318 52 135 with 18 SBs in 2001 and hit .300 57 142 with 9 SBs this past year....those are some pretty good stats. Not worth $25 mill a year....but maybe $15 mill....especially considering he is a SS that plays rock solid defense(280 put outs, 452 assists, 118 DPs turned and 18 errors in 01; 259 put outs, 472 assists, 108 DPs turned and 10 errors in 02). Arod just has very little around him in Texas(which IS partly due to his huge salary). That's the big reason why Texas has been unsuccessful I know what the comment HSC made was, but the point was not how well Griffey and ARod did after they left Seattle, but how Seattle got better each year after losing one of their stars. They lost arguably the best OF in the game (at the time) and did better the next year. They lose ARod, agruably the best player in the game period, and won 116 games! That my friend, is addition by subtraction. I got a feeling that Seattle may be one of the few teams that will be able to get away with that. They got so much better because they had people in the system that could replace them and they actually paid off. They also made quite a few trades as well as spent money. They lost Arod and brought in Ichiro and Carlos Guillen was a very good shortstop prospect. When they lost Griffey they replaced him with Cameron. The big reason they ended up overcoming these losses is they had new players step in. Cameron isn't Griffey, but he was solid. The key was they had a deep deep pitching staff. The Sox could afford to lose Thomas, but they would die without Buerhle and Colon.

  16. From now on, this is going to be the place where all the fantasy discussion takes place at least when it revolves around trades and all that type of stuff.

  18. No chance. I'm starting to fall in love with my team. 19. I'm happy with Thome, Sheffield, Drew, Matsui
  20. Well, Chisoxfn Owns can never have too much pitching. Look over my team and see if there is anyone who you are interested in. I'm also willing to take on Sosa, but I won't give up as much as you may want because I dno't think he'll have a good year since he doesn't have protection in the lineup.
  21. Thats cool. So the sox let you pay for 14 buck seats but then move down to the expensive seats at no additional charge? Man, thats a really cool thing.
