Vikings are a playoff team if the season ended (and should have beat them). Lions are bad and it was a bad loss (our defense still isn't very good...no one would argue with you on that). Last year, while the record might have been similar, we were getting absolutely destroyed. This team is clearly playing significantly better and headed in the right direction and we have multiple new pieces on defense that look like potential building blocks, plus cap space and more draft picks this year. This thing wasn't going to happen overnight but a lot of positives thus far in the process.

The Chargers are a few points from having a very good record. They were beat up and we should have beaten them by double-digits, but they aren't terrible and they have Phillip Rivers who is better then most QB's in this league and is on pace to throw for 5500 yards (or was entering last night).

The only potential exception would be if an "Andrew" Luck were available or if you are only winning because you have cruddy veterans who aren't even going to be around in a year. When you are winning because your young players and core pieces are making strides, it is a great thing, imo.

I think our defense is awful (don't care what the stats say) but we are scheming well and are making major improvements. The fact that Jay is making strides is also great because it buys the front office time to find a QB. I don't want to find myself in QB hell like some teams find themselves in. I'm not saying Jay is great and I think the great think with this front office is, they can keep Jay for a couple years while still aggressively targeting the next QB of the franchise.

Either way, that can't happen. On the sack and fumble, I can't really fault Jay. He got crushed in a hurry and I was curious why a penalty for helmet to helmet wasn't called on the fumble. Our penalties on the oline have been tough to handle though.

By the way, the overall team movement was much improved as well yesterday. Less ISO / 1 on 1 and a lot more movement and Rose even had a few pretty dishes (as did others).

Nothing to do with any inside info or sources...just his watch and initial (knee-jerk) reaction based upon the first few games of the season. He even told Waddle and Silvy that in a few months everyone might be looking back at his opinion and laughing at him and calling him a jackass.

Bulls tend to play well against better teams. Rose also tends to show up when he goes against top line players. That said, I think Rose's game is being impacted a lot more significantly then we all think from his eye.
