I got mine out, was in mild pain the 1st day and little pain going forward. Was eating chips by day 4 or so. Normal foods by day 2. Only part that sucks is the period where you need to clean the holes with fluids to prevent infection (cause food gets stuck in them). That and spitting out blood and not being able to actually brush for 2-3 days. They give u this stuff to swish and spit.
  2. Congrats Sir Shipps!!!
  3. I heard them talking about it on the radio a couple days ago. I thought it was Gottlieb talking about it with someone else while talking about the Oregon job and why it is considered a premium job.
  4. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) My point isn't that Minnesota is a prestigious program. My point is that I seriously doubt Tubby would leave a program that he just rebuilt for another rebuilding process at this stage of his career. You can disagree with that all you want, but I don't think there's much of a doubt that Oregon would be a rebuilding project right now, which Tubby doesn't sound interested in tackling. EDIT: There's also a lot of talk that Tubby is holding off on fully committing to the Gophers until he gets a new practice facility for the team, which wouldn't surprise me either. It's supposedly something that's been promised to him and he could be using the other "offers" as leverage to get it done. But Minnesota is still in a rebuilding mode. It isn't like Minnesota is a national title contender right now. They only got into the tourney this year because they got hot at the right time. Otherwise they'd have been NIT bound. Sure he's recruited well by Minny standards but lets not think for one minute that Minnesota is a fully built title contender or anything even close to that. Oregon isn't either and maybe it would be a step back but the question is, would one step back allow him to take 2 steps forward more quickly. And I don't even think Oregon is a big step back from Minny. Oregon has been more relevant than Minny in basketball this decade anyway and they have superior facilities and more money to draw (plus a big time football program as well). I just don't see Minny being as good as you are saying they are in comparison to Oregon. You are really underselling Oregon.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) Actually I believe 1 and 2 are Texas and OSU depending on the year. They constantly battle for the top spot. OSU comes in at around 118 million annually. Oregon has ridiculous donor money though that I believe still puts them overall at #1.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 02:18 PM) Why is Oregon a crappier program than Minny BTW? Whens the last time the Gophers won a conference title? Looks like 1982. The Ducks won in 2002 and won the conf tourney in 03 and 07. Oregon has made the NCAA tourney 5 times in this decade, while Minny has only done it 3 times. In those appearances, Oregon made the elite 8 in 02 and 07, Minny last did that in 1990. I understand alot of the success of the Gophers has been washed away due to scandals in the 90's but I still dont understand why you call Oregon a crappy program when they've been more successful than Minnesota has been of late. Auburn does suck though. Oregon also has the richest athletic department thanks to the large Nike donations. Afterall, they stole my baseball coach.
  7. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) Given the stage of his career he's in, I don't think that really matters. Why would he leave a program that he just rebuilt for another rebuilding process? It doesn't make sense, especially since he's happy in Minnesota. Oregon can put together premium facilities, etc, to the point he may feel like he could turn them into a national title contender. I don't know if he feels like he can do that in Minny. Again, just potential reasons. I have no idea what he is going to do and I tend to put Iowa and Minnesota in a similar position as job landscape goes. You guys got one hell of a coach and for the big ten's sake hopefully you keep him! Sounds like Iowa is making a big push at Wichita State's coach, but who knows how true that is. They also have interviewed UTEP's coach Tony Barbee.
  8. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 12:30 PM) I certainly wouldn't rule that out, if only because GT is a fairly solid program with a lot of good talent. That being said, all the discussion of him leaving for a crappy program (Oregon or Auburn) is hilarious and has no validity. Oregon has $$$
  9. The sites cost about $1500 a year to run between Server Costs, domain costs, and random software fees.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 23, 2010 -> 11:04 AM) That franchise is a steaming pile of crap IMO. The 1st was entertaining, the next 2, not so much.

Wait, I thought Pirates was meant to be a trilogy. they are doing another?
  12. With the baseball season about to start, Soxtalk.com will begin its first annual site cost donation drive. All donations will go towards the costs associated with hosting and running Soxtalk, SoxNet, and FutureSox. We will not be profiting on these donations. In the past, the site has always been funded out of my pocket with the help of advertising dollars. I will always continue to fund the site when needed, but as my life has changed, so have my priorities and while I still love Soxtalk and make it a priority, other costs have came into my life (Wedding & House) and I would like to reduce the amount of money I personally spend to keep running the site. In no way do I want anyone to feel obligated to donate and no matter what I will always continue to fund this site. I also want to thank everyone that is a member of Soxtalk because the site is nothing without you. We thank you all for the loyalty you have shown us over the years and I look forward to see what the site looks like in 2 more years when we turn 10!!!! The Paypal Email Address is: jason@futuresox.com Thanks again for your loyalty to the best Sox site on the web!!! Jason
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 23, 2010 -> 05:49 AM) Just a thought here... Kila Ka'ahuie has a .344/.447/.656/1.104 line in ST. Royals appear ready to stick with Butler at 1B. Kila would be sent back to AAA. I cannot believe the Sox haven't looked at him - he looks to me like he's in the position TCQ was prior to 2008 (raked in minors, then had a bad AAA year, and is stuck behind someone), and he's a lefty power bat that could be had for cheap. Would you rather give up Hudson/Flowers/Danks2/Morel for 1.5 or 2 years of Gonzo, or give up only one of those (at most) and get 5 years of Kila for cheap, and still leave money room for some other big acquisition later if Kila ends up a flop? Remember, Quentin was also a #1 pick who had shown good power numbers at the major league level as well. I'm not saying Kila doesn't have a shot to be solid but I don't think he's in the same league as Quentin was when the Sox acquired him.
  14. Fullerton finally with a sweep. Hopefully this will be something they build upon!!
  15. Will Memphis lose any scholarships or anything like that?
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 12:38 PM) Oh.Hell.Yeah X 2
  17. To Vegas I go...see ya guys next week
  18. Washington will be fired shortly or resign. He's not going to be able to get past this critism's. I don't usually agree with Phil Rogers, but he's right regarding Washington. There is no way he can succeed. Texas hits one bad spell and he's out.
  19. Big east is so over-rated. 12 of 16 through day 1 is the best start I've ever had. I'm sure its going to go nowhere from downhill from here. 97th percentile currently. Hopefully it holds up though, would love to win the annual pool I'm in for the 2nd time in 4 years.
  20. Damn, I had originally picked Washington, but ended up thinking Marquette would do it. Dooh.
  21. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 06:59 PM) Some people submit so many that it is really no fun and defeats the purpose of filling out a bracket. I have one bracket. Thats it. And i'm not 11 for 11.
  22. Someone did because there are still people on yahoo who are 11 of 11 in picks. Don't ask me how. I'm 8 of 11 with 2 sweet 16's gone and I know its only going to get worse from there, haha.
  23. Georgetown looks like they'll be team numero 2 in my final 16 to be out.
  24. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 02:44 PM) I believe that is what I have in my bracket. St. Mary's is good. Check that, I stuck with Nova. And glad they won cause I forgot I have them taking down the Dukies. I guess the bright side is, they have had there scare and Scotty Reynolds should play significantly better.
  25. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) Wouldn't be surprised if St. Marys beats Villanova. I believe that is what I have in my bracket. St. Mary's is good.
