ST: White Sox @ Oakland A's
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) Huh? He is one of 3 players reassigned. He gets to stick around ST while reassigned? They will still get used in games, even though they are reassigned. It just means for the most part he will practice with the minor leaguers now. He will still get called to some of the big league games though, I'm sure of it.

I think later on this off-season the Bears will look into grabbing Owens.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 07:15 PM) Who's slated to be the Bears RT ATM (I assume Williams is moving to LT after the release of Pace). IMO, the Bears need to bring in at least 2 new O-Lineman in order for Martz's system to have any chance at being successful. Doubt you'll get a starting RT in the 3rd round of the draft, but getting a C or G there is certainly possible. Williams has been the starting LT since about Week 13 and he did a good job over there and got better every week.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) Boldin and a 5th rounder go to Baltimore for a third and fourth round pick. Man, it would have been great to get Boldin. He's now signed an extension with Ravens. 4yrs 28M. That seems pretty fair financially.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) Boldin and a 5th rounder go to Baltimore for a third and fourth round pick. Man, it would have been great to get Boldin. His recent injuries effected his trade value, imo. Plus he's going to be expensive. Bears offered much more for Anquan a year ago. I'm glad they passed because I think safety is a bigger need and I think Boldin has a lot of risks associated with him. Plus, whether we hit or not, we need draft picks and the Bears should be able to target a quality olineman in the 3rd round (its supposed to be a very deep draft in relation to olineman).

One thing to consider is that the DE, #3 pick in the draft last year got over 30M in guaranteed money and a 54M contract. I'd rather go with the proven stud in Peppers myself. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) damn thats alot.

Bears have doled out 33M in up front moneys (20M for Peppers, 6M for Mamu, 7M for Taylor). Still have safety to address.

I just want to point out one thing. The players in the NFL tend to think that Peppers is one of the 5 best defensive players in the league. I'm not saying he is or isn't, but that is a f***ing great reputation to have. The Bears now have 2 guys on the Dline that have regularly commanded double-teams (Harris and Peppers). I've ripped on Harris but the facts do show that he still garners a s***laod of attention from the opposing defenses and in the few games he was out last year our defense went from mediocre to horrendous. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) Wtf are you talking about sour grapes? I don't give a f*** that the Bears got Peppers and the Packers are losing Kampman. Could care less, neither player fits in our system and are not worth the money imo. Packers never make noteworthy free agent signings anyways so I'm not expecting anything. I'm just relaying information from what I see on other sites, I don't have the time nor care to look up ages and stats, didn't know I needed to be specifically accurate, one wrong little sentence and everyone jumps on you all at once, ridiculous. No f***ing kidding Peppers is better, just saying I would rather have Kampman for less because he will probably give you just as good production this coming year.

QUOTE (The Beast @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 11:13 AM) I wonder if this uncapped season is going to bring upon a trend of long-term deals and if this will negatively impact the Bears once this whole cap situation gets figured out. I have a feeling that the Bears are going to regret this in the long haul if they tie these three up. Sounds like Taylor has a 7M yr 1 cap hit, after that it is 5.5M spread over the remaining 3 seasons which is a minimal long-term cap effect. In fact, if he produces like he has, thats a downright bargain.

Sweet...the fact that they are taking physicals should be an incredibly good sign. Bears are evidently looking into the Steelers safety and David Haugh is reporting that safety will be the next position the Bears address.

QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 08:58 AM) Your better off, I was telling other Bears fans that you guys always seem to do well in drafting defensive linemen that it really isn't a worry. And if Anderson stays, I like the idea of a possible Peppers (please)/Brown/Anderson as our three primary DE's.

QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 08:55 AM) Well...he is a restricted free agent, no guarantee. I don't keep up with the bears give me a break If we lose him, we get a high draft pick for him. And I'm fine with that.

Come on Bears, make me giddy and lock up Peppers and Taylor. If we can do that on Day 1 that would be a HUGE HUGE start to FA.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 05:34 PM) Hm. If you add Rolle and Peppers to this defense, we might stand a chance next year. Then give the Cardinals the third they want for Boldin? Let's make it an all Bears offseason. We all have high expectations. It will be interesting to see if the Bears succeed in this plan. But boy would getting Rolle locked up before the deadline be huge. Than they can focus 100% attention on Peppers.

Finding jeans that fit right
QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) Speaking of Banana work pants, you can get coupons to get them at 40% off on every Wednesday of this month. Lol, I just got that coupon and am probably gonna buy a pair or two of pants to take advantage of that. Them and Expresses pants just fit so damn well. And I think that it is important to dress well at your job.
