  1. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 08:34 AM) Per nbcchicago.com, Peggy Kusinski says that Greg Olsen has quitely put Drew Rosenhaus into "trade request mode" becuase he is not happy about Martz. This could suck I actually think I'm a-ok with moving Olsen. I like Dez Clark, I like Kellen Davis and I think the Bears will be okay and the value we could get by having a 2nd rounder could be huge, imo. I realize Olsen is solid but he won't be elite and given our oline problems I think it would be huge to have a TE that can block a bit. I feel that a good 2nd rounder would be fair value and a good deal.
  2. Get rid of hit. I might not like watching pitchers hit, but having them in the lineups makes things far more interesting from a strategic stand-point and its the way baseball should be played.
  3. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 26, 2010 -> 04:39 AM) If my daughter's fiance (long time off thankfully) gave her a $20k ring I would know he is an irresponsible idiot who would let the two of them spend themselves into the poor house. Unless, his poor house was an ocean front estate with a yardhouse selection of beers on tap and a submarine for your use!
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 24, 2010 -> 07:45 AM) Because we all know the Bears will pay two guys $15 million a year, or more... Kapman would be Plan B. Bears are going to go hard after Peppers and if they can't get him, they'll go for Kapman. Its a great plan, but plenty of other teams will go for Peppers too.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 23, 2010 -> 12:51 PM) Well, at least someone can agree with me there. As did the people I watched it with and from the boos at the end, so did the majority of the theater.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 21, 2010 -> 07:18 AM) Saw Shutter Island last night. Thought Kingsly was amazing and DiCaprio was good, but the movie was too long and very predictable. Personally I thought the movie stunk
  7. Titans fall to 0-2. Safe to say they'll be falling in the polls. Shut-out yesterday by Pepperdine. 1st time they've lost there 1st two games at home since 1987.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 10:12 AM) Haven't gotten that, I'll be applying for it in 2 weeks. I should have been a bit clearer...I just filled out and have all of the necessities for my passport into the Dept of State, and I had it expedited so I could get it here ASAP as the person leading our group wants us to be able to apply for our visas right around March 1st. So I imagine that's going to be another $120 and a 4-6 week wait. So long as I get it, I'll be happy. What are you heading over there for? Business or just to tour? Business, gonna be looking into the operations of our Shanghai and Hong Kong branch. But I do plan to spend the weekend admiring the city and that sort of stuff.
  9. QUOTE (AssHatSoxFan @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 06:13 AM) I was in China a month ago for work. What parts will you be in? Shanghai and Hong Kong.
  10. My #4 Titans were upset by Oregon and there former coach Horton.
  11. Hopefully I did alright. Felt like it took me about a segment to get used to how it works. Much more difficult when you are via the phone compared to everyone else being in studio. And if you guys can't tell, I really want Damon....like bad.
  12. Dude, there were times where I'm on the phone going, thinking, shut-up lady, and these guys aren't 1000...lets talk baseball here. Anyway, hopefully you all enjoyed it. Still pretty fun experience. Definitely the largest radio station I've evern been on and the 1st time I've ever been just piped in live.
  13. I'd like to speak and I wish I were in studio to shut her up and tell her what is really going on. I don't care about the Cubs/Sox, I want to talk baseball here, haha. Albeit, I'm absolutely exhausted right now.
  14. I'll be doing a preview of the Sox at 9:30 tomorrow morning on WGN Radio!!!!
  15. Just for what it is worth, this isn't officially dead until Damon signs or Sox pitchers and catchers report.
  16. It will be officially dead once camp opens up. I don't blame Kenny one bit, Boras was dragging s*** along in typical Boras fashion.
  17. I hope Kenny has a secret plan and that he thinks this will kind of force Damon's hand.
  18. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 10:29 AM) Agreed. Ha, Rock got dissed, when he's been pretty much right on rumors/signings for like 2 years. Hilarious. Anyone got an update yet? Didn't read the "whole" thread per say.... Doc? Rock? Jas? To sum up whats been said. A bit of talk, but really not too much new except the Sox still seem to be optimistic which is a good sign. Still a complete waiting game though.
  19. Beautiful...now lets sign Damon!!!
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 09:32 AM) one poster. You didn't need to lecture the whole board. End of discussion. Lets all get back on topic here...ie, Johnny Damon. If not, I'll throw out suspensions from here on out.
  21. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 09:30 AM) What's offensive? That, or the comment about his source being Santa Claus? Or both? Because (again) in both situations I wasn't attacking Rock personally, I was saying his source isn't worth anything. I will stick by any of our loyal posters with information. You have a problem with the sources of a guy that has been great at sharing info with all of us when he hasn't and I'll freaking always defend those guys. I see how ripped to shreds the Chicago Media figures get when they report a rumor and it doesn't come true. You know why, because it is a rumor, talks are going on, it isn't that, oh the deal is done, etc. Plus, as someone that has talked and has contacts as well, I can tell you sometimes a source knows something, sometimes they don't, sometimes what they might hear could already be dead, you have no idea, but when you get the info, its nice to pass it along cause it actually gives you a better eye into what the Sox are looking at. You going off on Rock doesn't make it easy for people with quality info and a proven track-record to go out and talk. We do an excellent job here of vouching rumors when they come out and if they start to look bogus they go. Rock has been posting stuff from his contact for a long long time and a lot of that stuff has been spot on (doesn't mean always a deal goes down as Rock says, but later it comes out that the Sox did consider, XYZ, etc).
  22. QUOTE (quickman @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 08:59 AM) Ok, you may know better as you follow the board closer than I do. That said, his source may not be at liberty to say anything and this silence is consistant with the media shutting down on this topic as well. I only suspect that he has two offers and is taking the weekend to decide which one to take. It appears each is different in structure and there are many moving parts including his agent, family, Union and his personal feelings. This is not unlike any other job in life when one has mulitple opportunities that will involve moving, money and lifestyle. A couple of days to think does not reflect negatively on either side of the ledger right now. Quick...read my post on the silence that is going on right now. The Sox have had discussions and an offer is out their. The ball is in Damon's court and it doesn't sound like the Sox are going to increase anything. However, the Sox are more optimistic than they were a week ago.
  23. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 08:26 AM) I wasn't making fun of you, I was just saying your sources don't exist. My apologies for sounding offensive. That is offensive.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 08:13 AM) You dont have to believe my sources. Not a big deal. No need to try and make fun of me though. I'll echo Rock's sentiments Kenny. Rock has legitimate info and its great that he's willing to share what he hears.
