  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 06:44 AM) I liked Lovie not calling his TO's there. He was riding it on his defense, and with Cutler's propensity to throw picks, I'd rather take my chances on the D stopping them on 4th and goal than on Cutler running the :45 drill. I'm going to say no, because our D didn't stop anyone in the 2nd half. Which is pretty typical. Our defense sucks and the defensive failures, combined with the poor clock management, poor using of challenges, inability to play the proper players, get any development, etc, etc, etc is why Lovie needs to go.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 09:10 PM) Well that's not checking DOWN, but yeah, point remains. It is being reported that Cutler and Turner have had a ton of battles during the season regarding the play-calling. Doesn't shock me we saw Jay play well. It was one of the only games he has had solid protection more often than not and he was able to get outside of the pocket where he excels.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 09:04 PM) Did Jared Allen play tonight? F*cking redneck Chris Williams had himself a game. The guy is a great athlete and is starting to show why he was the 14th overall selection. The future, with a veteran WR, for the offensive skill players is pretty bright. I b**** and moan about there in-experience but the talent level is there with Bennett/Knox/DA. We just need to get a quality veteran in house as well. The rookie mistakes will go away in time too. But man they were killer during the season. Stopped routes, wrong routes, etc.
  4. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 08:31 PM) Zachary Bowman, they don't get much easier than that. Too bad this wasn't training camp, he would have made the pick then. Bowman has actually gotten better as the season has progressed, albeit, he should have that and if he does the game doesn't go to OT. That said, I want our D to suck because it makes Lovie look bad. If we were going to win, I wanted to win because of Jay and our young players and we really did today. And with Devin Arashamandamananana making some huge plays for us, it is yet another point for Angelo to say hey, the talent is there, the coaches just don't know how to use/develop it properly.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 08:25 PM) With Knox, Bennett, and Manning returning kicks and the emergence of Aromodoshu (sp?), Hester is very expendable in the off season. I've been saying it all along. Trade Hester. Toub is great and Hester wasn't the first nor will he be the last good returnman the Bears have if Toub sticks around. Manning is dynomite and Knox ain't too shabby himself.
  6. Give me either or when it comes to Cowher/Shanny. Both would be f***ing fantastic and unbearlike.
  7. Has anyone used an HDMI Splitter before? I was thinking of having my PS3 hooked up to my TV in the bedroom and the one in the family room. It is easy for me to do, but I don't know what sort of impact the splitter would have on the quality of my BluRay's. The splitter has a built in amplifier which I assume would help but if I kill the quality there isn't any point. I just thought it would be pretty cool to be able to play the PS3 in either room with ease.
  8. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 22, 2009 -> 06:52 AM) Plasmas do have a glare issue if you're the type that cant stare through an image, but instead stare at the surface of the image. Any glass screen will do this -- I don't have this problem, so I don't notice it. My iMac is similar. After using a glass screen I can never go back to the dull matte screens again. I love glossy screens, they produce a better image. Plasmas don't really have many burn in issues anymore unless you are beyond careless. Most modern plasmas come with pixel shift technologies that shift images around the screen without the users noticing every X number of minutes, preventing images from causing burnin. Phosphor lag is also a thing of the past. My plasma is .001 ms response...no LCD or LED comes close to that kind of response time. This is why fast motion looks superior on plasmas, it can actually keep up with the images on the screen. Plus doesn't the burn in issue go away anyway if you run a program on the new plasma's which will undo any burn-in's. This program is on-top of the pixel shifting that the TV's do.
  9. Are you kidding me, if I found the guy, I'd rip a fart and he'd pass out. Mario, Shipps and my fiance would all confirm I have the power to knock someone out with one single fart.
  10. What the heck? This makes no sense. I'd have loved to get Morrow in our pen.
  11. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 04:24 PM) What does 'natural causes' mean? I think it means someone didn't do something to cause themselves to die.

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 04:25 PM) I don't think you'll be disappointed. Besides, watching it at the movies is a must for this one. Did you guys see it in 3D?
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 03:11 PM) Do you remember in 2001 when people were calling for HERM'S head because of all the injuries? It's amazing the lack of injuries our pitching staff has endured with the pairing of Cooper and Schneider. They were a perfect match. Nardi was the problem, imo.
  14. Holy crap, my fiance's bank just got robbed. She called me to let me know that she's okay, waiting to find out the details. My good buddy is a cop in Irvine and texted me right when he heard the call come in on his radio. Sounds like no injuries but the suspect escaped...for now.
  15. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 02:34 PM) I used to get them ALL the time. I started doing research and found out that sodium lauryl sulfate in toothpaste causes them so I switched to Sensodyne toothpaste because it seems like every other toothpaste has that ingredient. I also noticed that walking on a cold floor right after taking your socks off will cause them. Lastly, if you brush you're teeth quickly and hit your gums hard, expect to get one. At that point you want to stay away from foods with a lot of acid that will upset it. After following these rules I almost completely stopped getting them. Switching toothpaste is what really helped prevent them for me. I'll have to try those things. Normally I get like 4 or 5 a year, normally super mild, but sometimes they'll be pretty big and those things hurt like a mofo. I'll try switching toothpastes. This one is in a terrible spot where it gets rubbed whenever I eat which is preventing it from getting better fast.

    What's your OCD?

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 02:20 PM) Take a piss before bed. Even if barely have to go, I gotta go other wise I think about it while trying to fall asleep and thus cannot fall asleep. Yup, yet another one of mine.

    What's your OCD?

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) I always have to close the door in my room to go to sleep. Even if it's open slightly, it gets to me. This is one I've started getting away from.

    What's your OCD?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 11:32 PM) My buddy does this too. Whenever I am giving him money I purposefully give it to him all f***ed up. My only weird thing is when I cook I always try to wash the dishes before I actually start eating whatever it is I made... I do the same thing. Once I'm done eating, I don't want to do anymore work.
  19. QUOTE (MEANS @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 07:43 PM) Ditto on that, I just got the same tv, i needed a good sized screen for a large bedroom with not much sunlight so that's why I went with a plasma, I got a sony blu-ray player and cannot believe how good the picture is. I went to a friends last night who has a 55" LED samsung and the picture was as good by the blacks were nowhere near as rich as on my plasma. Eventually I will probably pick up a LED for the family room to replace my Sharp 32" LCD, but not until they come down in price, btw I picked up the Samsung Plasma for about 1400. I got that TV, albeit a different size, and it is freaking beautiful. Mounted it on my wall and including the wall-mount it sticks out less than 6 inches. Its freaking awesome. I can also attest that the energy used on new plasmas is a lot less. Older generation plasmas used to get real hot but this new one doesn't run hot at all.
  20. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Dec 18, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) Only thing I'm worried about with LCD is that I'm hearing the picture gets fugged if you watch on an angle. Does the angle have to be extreme? Who watches tv straight on anyway? I know my Plasma works awesome on an angle. Got it up this weekend and the TV is f***ing beautiful.
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 01:54 AM) Canker sores are the worst thing to ever happen to man. Agreed. I have a bad one right now and I hate it. It hurts to eat. Why do some people get them while others don't, I'll never know, but I've gotten em ever since I was a kid.
  22. QUOTE (WCSox @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) The pitching PROSPECTS were very good (including one Mark Buehrle). The starting pitchers that were actually winning games for the 2000 Sox, however, were not. Baldwin had been considered a flop at that point, Parque was a marginal major league pitcher, and Cal Eldred had a long history of injuries at that point. I agree that there were some really nice prospects in the organization at the time, but it was difficult for me to believe that the Sox were going to out-pitch the Yankees in the playoffs at that point. The only pitchers who had looked good at the major league level at that point were Sirotka and Foulke. Oh, that lineup was sick. Those three plus Frank and Valentin, and you knew that they were going to score a lot of runs for the foreseeable future. I didn't feel comfortable about our chances of winning a pennant until Kenny traded for Freddy in 2004 (where Mark and Jon had already established themselves as really good and solid starters, respectively). In 03, the Sox had a rotation of Colon/Loaiza/Buehrle. That was about as good of a 1 through 3 in all of baseball that year and they had a stellar offense to go with it. Sure they had no depth, but the Sox had some teams that if they had gotten into the playoffs, they were built to win it all.
  23. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 11:27 AM) Terry Boers is giving out some VERY interesting stuff about the possibility of Lovie and or Jerry getting fired on the Score right now. Basically, a very important McCaskey wants Lovie gone, but a group of the lesser influential types wants him to stay (however, they want to see how the last three games went). And it looks like that if Lovie goes, so does Jerry. Jerry has no idea on what side of the fence to be... fire Lovie, or keep Lovie. Interesting. I certainly expect a few more beat-downs and when a team is constantly getting blown out it means changes are necessary.
  24. QUOTE (WCSox @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 11:34 AM) I didn't get that feeling at all, as there were too many career years and too much luck in the starting rotation. The one guy that I thought would be good over the long-term (Sirotka) never pitched again in the bigs. It was a fun year, though. I was at the night home opener and the atmosphere was electric. After Ray Durham made a run-saving catch-and-throw in the top of the first and Frank got a standing ovation in the bottom half of the inning, I could tell that 2000 was going to be different. Kip Wells, Jon Garland, Jon Rauch were all some of the best pitching prospects in baseball. Add in Keith Foulke, Lorenzo Barcelo, Aaron Myette, Jason Stumm, Dan Wright, etc and you are talking about a team that was absolutely loaded. Than there were the solid vets like James Baldwin. So I don't know how you are talking about a ton of career years. That was a young team that was rated to have one of the best farm systems of all time. Turns out BA was completely wrong and a lot of the guys fizzled out, but people in baseball absolutely raved about the Sox stable of prospects. You had a young Ordonez/Lee/Konerko in your lineup too.
  25. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 06:07 PM) I hate you. Vazquez has been dead to me for a while. To be fair, Floyd's ERA in his last 22 starts (which is cherry picking) was 2.97. Danks's was like 3.39, which is obviously good, but didn't have quite the same level of quality in regards to his peripherals. I just really think that Floyd is going to be dynamite next year, though I'm not going to be surprised in the least if he does essentially the same thing he did this year next year. Assuming Floyd is healthy, he's an absolute stud. I really think he had his best season to date last year. He was flat out filthy after his early struggles. And his ability to pitch deep into games is what I really like.
