I don't know how you guys can really slam Holmberg. He throws 88-91 as a lefty, kind of like most major league lefties do. And he has a good feel as a prep. He should only advance further along if they sign him. I really want Thompson to sign, get him signed along with Mitchell and Phlegey and I can look past some of our potential overdrafts, etc.

Big time power arm. Sounds like a guy they'll move to the back end of the pen but who knows.

#51 on BA's list of top 100 high schoolers earlier in the season. Not sure where he ranks currently. In fact, went right where he was slated, lots of mocks had him going in the 2nd round, Sickels on 5/15 had him going 51 to the Angels. Below are various reports that I found on the web. Sounds interesting. Like that he has good movement and he at least maintains his velocity.

You just get the very next pick in the draft BearSox, so we'd get 64 or whatever it would be.

Prep lefty, 6-4, 205. Not great velocity currently, but he's got 3 good pitches already and a very good feel for pitching. Looks to have a projectable body so he might be able to add velocity. Sox are clearly sticking to there MO though, in the sense that they aren't breaking the bank on anyone.

Michael Thompson is on the radio a lot around here and they'd have baseball people ocassionally talk about his kid and everyone gushed about him. I think this is a great pick. Won't be an easy sign, depends on how badly he wants to play in the pro's. His family has money.

Trace Thompson, local kid out of Rancho Santa Margarita. He's going to UCLA. I'll try to interview him. Michael Thompsons kid. He's supposed to have really good tools. MLB.com calls him the most improved player. Multi sport guy in High school, just focused on baseball his senior season. Can't complain here, not at all. Athletism and all. Power potential.

I'd guess a pitcher, but who knows.

Funny to see Rolan Hemond announcing for the Dbacks, especially after seeing him at Soxfest all the time. White Sox are now on the clock.
