  1. Evidently, San Diego State's ace, Steven Strausburg hit 102 MPH in his most recent start, a 16 strikeout performance. I would have loved it if the Titans got to face him in one of there two games against SDSU this year (but those games are already done).
  2. Big West looking strong once again...UCI is 5th in the country, my Titans 7th, Cal Poly 25th and you know the Dirtbags (Long Beach State) will find a way to make some noise as well. Fullerton's only two losses aren't looking as bad as they were to the #13 team in the country (TCU). Our rotation is incredibly young. Friday's starter is a sophmore, our saturday starter a Junior and the rest of our starters are all freshman.
  3. Fullerton had a nice Tuesday road win against the Titans. One of our super freshman Ramirez made his first start annd pitched phenomenaly. Just three hits in 7 innings.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 07:35 AM) The Bears have had immense trouble with both actually. I don't know. Jones did a good job when he was here and really, they'd have productive play out of there backs most of the decade. Maybe not star worthy but still solid enough. To get a franchise QB, that would be a significant step up.
  5. Beckham is one of the guys I'm most excited to see when I'm out there at the end of March.
  6. There is no argument. Orton >>> Sage. I know Sage has put up some numbers but he's older and has had a lot more weapons than Kyle ever had. Kyle has a shot to be an above average QB in this league for a long time, I can't say the same about Sage.
  7. This is tremendous. Four picks in the first two rounds. I'll take it
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 08:43 PM) Cutler will do ridiculously bad here. He's shakey at times with 2 STUD WR's in Denver- how will he come here with Devin Hester, me, and you at WR? I'd rather we kept Orton and traded for someone like Boldin or Chad Johnson, then trade for Cutler and keep our current WR's. What did Brandon Marshall and Royal do before Cutler? I'm not knocking them, just stating that Cutler should get some credit for turning a rookie WR into a stud. Cutler is easily one of the five best QB's in the league and has more upside than any QB in the league.
  9. Put together a package for Vernon Wells.
  10. Beautiful...Titans swept Stanford and Davis hit 3 HR's in his first 3 AB's. The first HR was a f***ing bomb and his hr's went to all three fields. The first HR must have went 460+ as it cleared over the batters eye in CF.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 03:27 PM) What has Cutler ever done? The most I'd give up for him is a 2nd this year and a 3rd or 4th next year. He had 25 TD's and 20 turnovers (18 INT, 2 fumbles lost) this past year, and in Chicago he wouldn't have Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshall. Are you kidding me, Cutler is a f***ing stud.
  12. Woot...Titans took down #6 Stanford yesterday. Play again today and than tomorrow I'll be there.
  13. Nice move for both teams and a great move for Cassel.
  14. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 11:10 AM) Did you enjoy working for Deloitte? They are really popular here and I have heard some good things about them, but not from anybody who has really worked for them. I learned a ton. It's a great place to start your career but you have to realize your going to get abused a bit working for them. Your a resource and unfortunately you don't get paid market value (but when you leave you get rewarded because people know the training you get at Deloitte or any of the other top tier accounting firms). So in short, while I hated my job there for a couple years, I learned an absolutely s***load and ultimately am glad I worked at Deloitte and would recommend it to others. Plus, if you do really like what you get in, sticking around can be very beneficial financially.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 02:04 PM) What did you do for Deloitte? What are you doing in your new position? Going from an audit role to a financial analyst position. It'll allow me to have more normal work hours while I'm getting my MBA (hopefully from USC) which will start in September.
  16. Is it too late for me to get back in. Switching jobs and I'd finally have more time to do this thing.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 08:59 AM) This close to a Ph.D. in geology...(Come on Iron, stop screwing me over!) When I buy my castle a top a mountain, I will be hiring you to perform my geological analysis to ensure my house doesn't fall off the mountain and onto my lowly peasants, LOL.
  18. QUOTE (Texsox @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 07:20 AM) I just realized we probably have every college in a university covered around here. It is an amazing mix of smart people, something you would not get on say a NASCAR site. So how about a roll call. What formal or informal field of study are/were you in? I will have, Lord willing, by May 6th of this year B.A.s in English Lit and Psychology. I graduated with my bachelor's in business with a double focus in accounting and finance. I've worked for Deloitte for 3 years and will now be moving into private for a large, formerly publicy traded health care company while I attend MBA school part time in the fall. Don't mean to pat myself on the back, but not too shabby for being 2/1/2 years removed from college

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 24, 2009 -> 04:49 AM) Maybe it's also reminiscent of Bourne because of the European sets... The irony is that everyone complained that the new James Bond (QOS) was too much like Bourne and not humorous or romantic enough. I tend to agree, because it's hard for this most recent bond to stand up in comparison to Casino Royale. Having Eva Green witty repartee and banter back and forth with Craig (especially the train scene) just added something that Olga Kurylenko, despite her near supermodel status....didn't. Which was enjoyable action AND dialogue and a hint of sex/fun without straying too much from the main storyline from too pretty talented actors. I think what distinguishes the Bourne movies from say Seagal or National Treasure or DaVinci Code is that they're written for people with some intelligence...that like to think while they're watching a movie, instead of being spoon fed. Watching him stay one step of David Straithairn in the last movie was enjoyable, in and of itself. So maybe Bourne is like a modern-day, intellectualized Rambo/First Blood. Lets not compare James Bond and Jason Bourne. The Bourne movies are so much better than the Bonds (at least the recent one's), its not even funny. Better stories, cooler action scenes, etc. I've been flat out dissapointed with each of the most recent Bond movies, although I happen to think the current bond is very good at his role (the movies weren't good though). Or at least not up to my expectations of a Bond flick.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 07:01 PM) my gf made the comparison to Man on Fire as well, but I thought of it as a early 90's Seagal Movie if he could act his way out of a paper bag. I can see the Seagal reference as well. Under Siege is clearly one of the most badass movies of all time!!
  21. Aside from the loss against the Pacers (lots of new faces) the Bulls have been playing very well since getting healthy (ie, Hinrich and Deng back playing well). Hinrich is a huge upgrade as is a healthy Deng. The Bulls are going to make a run and get a playoff spot and they might even win 2 playoff games.
