$700 Billion Bailout
I understand the need for a bail-out. As much as I'd like to tell every bank out there to F off, the reality is if we do that we'd really be asking for a complete financial meltdown. However, I think things need to be done to ensure that this is a one time thing and that banks can't just expect the gov to jump in anytime they do something completely stupid. That said I'm not a proponent of leaving this up to the White House or anyone like that. This should be dealt with by the Fed Bank and those with key banking knowledge.

The Economy, stupid
I hope this doesn't push energy back up and if it is going to, can anyone please look into the future and let me know cause I will throw some money into the energy sector.

Ozzie, It's Time for a Change
I wouldn't mess with OC right now. He's absolutely raking.

In case anyone missed it
Very Cool!!!

Ozzie calls out Javy
I'm glad Ozzie isn't just sitting around. I hope this motivates Javy to go out and be "agressive". When he uses both sides of the plate he is absolutely dominant. The problem is he rarely is agressive which means he's just trying to pinpoint stuff over the outer half of the plate. He'll fall behind and hitters will be able to lean over and hit him.

Ozzie, It's Time for a Change
Ozzie, It's Time for a Change By Jason Gage ChiSport.com Those are my suggestions, but do you guys/gals think it's time Ozzie makes a move? The Sox are about to play there biggest series of the season and I don't think Ozzie should just sit back and hope the slumping guys heat up. I think he should be proactive and make sure the best hitters are getting the most ab's.

Anderson back in 09 or traded?
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 06:40 AM) Our scouts need to be fired immediately if they thought Kenny's kid was worthy of a 6th round pick. He could end up in the hall of fame for all I care, but he'd still have been there for us to pick if we had waited another 10 rounds. Kenny has the athletism of a top 10 round pick. However, that would have been if you were drafting him out of high school. He had a failed collegiate career and has shown very little "baseball instincts". It is one thing to draft a raw high school player or a raw collegiate player but they have to show at least something and Kenny didn't show enough to go top 10. I wouldn't have taken him anywhere in the top 15 rounds but after that he would have been a solid pick given his pure athletism (despite his lack of baseball ability).

Anderson back in 09 or traded?
QUOTE (G&T @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 05:37 AM) Yeah, but it isn't likely with those two guys after the years they've had. If Paulie finishes strong and has a decent post-season he could be traded with ease and for good value. Teams would look at his early season struggles and go those were due to the injury he had suffered. When healthy Paulie has consistently been an above average first baseman and would be an asset on a team looking to upgrade there offense at 1B (when productive, his contract is very fair). The bigger question is do you trade a healthy Paulie or do you move Swisher? I guess it depends on what Swisher's value is. If Swisher somehow has any value I would consider moving him (of course you'd be selling him with completely low stock). He clearly has some good tools but as a first baseman I don't know if Swisher would ever be able to produce at league average, let alone above average.

Anderson back in 09 or traded?
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 05:05 AM) So I noticed that the last few games Hawk has REALLY been praising Brian Anderson and got to thinking... Either he is trying to hype him up to increase he trade value, or we are looking at oour 2009 starting CF. Thoughts? Hawk Harrelson's comments will have absolutely zero effect on his trade value. If Harrelson's comments were an indication of anything it would be management working on preparing people for Anderson getting another shot in CF. However, if that ends up happening the Sox will likely have to upgrade offensively in other areas (ie, 3B & 2B). Note: I say 2nd base because Ramirez will be moving to SS.

Magic Number count
QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 04:40 PM) I'm still trying to figure out how this magic number stuff works... all I know is lesser the value, the better. When the number hits 0, the Sox are in the playoffs. The number goes down by one if either of the following happens: Sox Win Twins Loss So if the Sox win and the Twins lose on the same day, the number would go down by 2 points.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Outstanding Danksy. Nice to see what happens when a pitcher throws on normal rest. That was just a huge outing.

9/20 Sox v. Royals; 6:10PM CDT - WGN
QUOTE (Felix @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 04:52 PM) Bulls***. Anyone that knows what they're doing in CF actually backs up their corner outfielders, as opposed to just picking dandelions out in center while letting the batter round at his will. Hence why I said DJ was making an "excuse". I didn't agree his statement at all. Griffey should have been there, no questions asked.

9/20 Sox v. Royals; 6:10PM CDT - WGN
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 04:51 PM) I just don't get why we threw him so many pitches on Tuesday if we planned on him pitching on 3 days rest? Especially with power pitchers. They are completely ineffective on short rest. You can see he's relying completely on his off-speed stuff. And while his off-speed stuff is much improved, Gavin still needs his various fastballs to truly be effective. However, Gavin is definitely such a more mature pitcher now than he was last year. I still think he'll be able to give us 5 innings at 3 runs. At that point, hopefully the Sox will have tied this thing back up or taken the lead and we'll just take our chances with Richard coming in for a couple.

9/20 Sox v. Royals; 6:10PM CDT - WGN
QUOTE (Felix @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) Where the f*** was the backup from Griffey? For a guy that has so much experience, you would think he would actually be doing his job once in awhile. DJ was busy making an excuse about how Griffey couldn't possibly cover all that ground to back up the play. Is Clayton Richard available? I'd have his ass up and just let him go the rest of the way. NO need to kill Floyd's arm. If he can't get it figured out, pull him at the 60 pitch mark so he'll be nice and fresh for his start against Minny. Plus I believe Richard is capable of shutting down the Royals.

9/20 Sox v. Royals; 6:10PM CDT - WGN
I'm with you fathom. I've consistently said how much I hate going on 3 days rest. Especially when our guys look dead as it is. I hope Floyd can somehow step up and pitch past this. The offense is really going to have to bail out Gavin tonight!!! Oh and no matter what, I won't b**** about Gavin, he's been the f***ing man for us this season.

Worlds greatest
QUOTE (shipps @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 12:20 PM) Iam really good at making fun of people. Sometimes harsh and most of the time never to their face but if needed I could bring someone to tears. Not something Iam proud of but I do have the ability if I have to lash back at someone that provokes me. I can back up your wittiness. Youv'e made me cry from your jokes at others. Thankfully those tears were because I was laughing so hard at the many "Juan" comments. Oh and I think I'm quite possibly the worlds greatest farter. Especially for someone my size. Its one thing if a 350 pound dude busts some serious ass, its another when a 6ft 160 pound white boy does it.

9/20 Sox v. Royals; 6:10PM CDT - WGN
I love Gavin. Hopefully we can get a big game from him and the offense can put up some runs so we'll be able to use some scrubs in the pen (or at least not put anyone in huge pressure situations). Thome with the single. Come on Sexy Lexi.
