QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) the team you love. Its frustrating to have a dissapointing season, especially when we should have played better than we did. But thats baseball. Its why its the greatest game in the land. When this season is over, we can look forward to next year, and another possible run at it. We have a great core, great management, and a franchise that looks to be dedicated to winning for once. This is not the time to turn your back on your team, nor to act like a spoiled little baby who needs to pout about something that didnt go your way. These reactions are why it was so easy for me to get season tickets when I did, and why I was always one of the only people who went to every game. Why my section was half empty for several years, and yet at the beginning of every season there was always hope. If you all want to act like babies and cry and whine about how our team just couldnt win enough games, then so be it. I love this team, my life revolved around the White Sox, and I wouldnt be the same without the experiences that I have had with this team. When this season ends, I will be dissapointed, but we cant win the WS every year. Next year is a new year, filled with new hope, and a new schedule, and the Sox will be right back in it. And I will be in my seat as always, cheering for them. Good post. I can't support them like that because I don't live there. But they're my baseball team, win or lose. Some people in here sound like Bahston Bandwagon fans.

The official Soxtalk 2006 predictions thread
kapkomet replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Pretty much Greasy and SS were right on. -
He had a couple of O-fers early this month, and that was it for the leash. Ozzie was waiting on the "collapse" at the plate, and when Sept 1-5 happened, that was the yank of the carpet on the BA experiment. I think he's about to leave... and we're going to have a new LF and CF next year, unfortunately.

Nice, Sleepy.

I could have breakfast for a year with as many waffles as there are in this thread.

QUOTE(MSHAWKS @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) Yeah, because Damon's Boston career is on par with Frank's White Sox career. That's not the point, but a good point, none the less.

Seriously Hangar... you're just not making your arguement very well. We're all (mostly) Thomas fans around here... but we certainly don't put him in front of our team. You do. Fine... we get that. There were warning signs all over the place with this team. Hell, I can argue the opening series of the year, and starting out 1-4 was a warning sign. They didn't have the same fire. But I certainly didn't "give up" on them, nor have I now. I hope they make it, I want them to make it, and I certainly won't talk down on them. Criticize, sure. Talk down? Nope. A few people could learn the difference.

QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) HEY. I gave up on these guys in July. Some fan.
-
QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 03:19 PM) hey, didnt I say it was "BITTERSWEET"? And I just read an article and Big Frank actually used the same words, "Bittersweet". The irony and reason were talking about Thomas is, well, he helped doom our playoff chances. Hows that for a hollywood ending? Couldnt have been scripted better Yea, I'm crying about it. It's the best thing since we figured out you're a Cub fan. Seriously, you're digging your grave the more you post. It's obvious your allegiance isn't with the Sox now, so why bother?

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) That's not true. He has repeatedly cost the Sox runs. I may overreact to things, but I am dead serious about this one. Joey Cora should be fired. He, in no way, has earned his job. To be fair, I don't get to watch these guys every day like ya'll... but aggressive vs. stupid baserunning is on the players, too. Like I said the other day... when Ozzie threw a fit about the beer, etc. after the game, that told me that he's more about the partying, etc. then winning. They are living off of last year's hog, and that sucks for us.
-
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) You baffle me. Baffle ain't the word. He's a Cub, IMO.
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) There's no way Ozzie ISN'T managing the Sox next year. I just hope maybe at least Cora isn't here anymore. That man has truly done nothing to earn having a secure job. In fact, he's more than earned his walking papers. You're being too harsh... Cora doesn't make a difference in a game save about three times this season.

QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 01:49 PM) Who here didnt smile every time Frank Thomas just Jammed It to the SOX this weekend, QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) God, shut up. Kenny Williams did more to bring a championship to the city of Chicago than any other one person. For once, Milkman and I agree 100%. Go root for the Cubs, because after that post, that's all you are worth to me, Hangar.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) Go Frank. I usually cheer for the AL Central team, then the AL team. This year it will be a toss between Detroit and Oakland. I am hapy to see Detroit having a great season. They have a nice franchise, great history. And you're from Chicago? All things Detroit = SUCKS.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) I'm to the point that if we get good value I have absolutely no problem moving Brandon. We need the cheap pitching. Mac is CHEAP.
-
I thought the same thing ... Frank Thomas is the one who put the nail in the coffin. How ironic.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) So it's a alcohol related reasoning that continues to have him trucking out the uribepodsednik combination? AH HA...
-
no, Freddy's going to say, "I'm never going to get my fastball back..." How stupid is this?
-
QUOTE(ILoveThisGame @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) 4) Sox making no moves to their offense at the trade deadline. IT'S NOT THE OFFENSE, PEOPLE!
-
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) Can you elaborate on what happened/was said? Ozzie threw a fit because there wasn't any beer allowed in the clubhouse after the game. I'm sorry, but there is a hell of a lot more important things to worry about besides that s***. If all they want to do is party, screw 'em. I mean, fine, have a beer, but to throw a fit about it because you can't, tells me that they are worried about the wrong things.
-
The post-game s*** told me a lot about where the mindset of this team is. I'm done with them, now.
-
Just so everyone understands, the governor in Texas doesn't hold much power. The legislature does.

That site you gave is pretty damn accurate. I was surprised when I was tooling around last night that it was $2.26 with my card.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 05:08 PM) I know I was dropped on my head a lot, but Kinky is making the most sense to me of any candidate. He's gotten past the novelty campaign. No, ... that's not your problem... pssst. Pass the whacky.
-
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 06:09 PM) Good. In the long term view, the last thing this country needs is cheap gas. No green here either. It's our RIGHT, just like it is to post whatever we want on Soxtalk, to have cheap gas. You draw the appropriate comparision.
