  1. But this does emphasize, it truly IS partisan. But what would you expect?
  2. Dude, you're a crusin' for a bannin'.
  3. Oh, so Bush 43 has already jettisoned his VeeP?
  4. In that sense, ya, that's true. He should probably get it out of the way in innings one and two and play shut the hell up the rest of the game. We did sit there through the whole game, harassing him...
  5. Yea, that is true, but you know what? Everyone in the country knows the hot dog vendor if you're a baseball fan. And guess what? That makes him quite all right in my book.
  6. Now THAT would be sweet, because then I would get to partaaaay with Mr. Stanley himself... *drools*
  7. LMAO. SS2k and I were at a Detroit game a few years back and he was there trying to sell ss2k a hot dog and he belts out a tune of hoooooooot doooooooooog, and ss2k purposely didn't buy his hot dog cause like a good home vendor, he was razzing him being a sox fan. So ss2k waited for the next vendor to pop by, and bought one from him. Upon getting the hot dog, he stood up, got the opera guy to catch a look, and pointed to his dog he just bought from someone else. It was hilarious. But you know what? The guy is good, think about it, we're talking about it on here and most people know of him. How can you fire the guy, or tell him to stop? I guarantee you that he sells more then most other vendors on average because he's different. Personally, I think it's awesome. Hope he gets to stay. Good memories.
  8. uh oh, you were AT A GAME in Wrigley? You're not a true Sox fan then...
  9. I think I like this move better then Zero being the closer. Let's face it, Zero is a junk ball pitcher. The less people see of him, the better and more effective he is going to be. Putting him out there in a save situation every day is not going to be as effective as his role is now. Opinions?
  10. I was just getting ready to post this as a question and you beat me to it.
  11. No, I didn't mean you. You already told us about your brushes with Reagan, which are quite extraordinary! I apologize to you if you took it personal, I meant it in a much broader scale. But your words were something I find interesting when thinking about the other side of the fence, so to speak, which got me to thinking about what I posted. And while we're talking about "all you", I think you would find that I'm not a neo-con. I think about 3/4's of the policies of the current White House suck balls. But I think the overwhelming idea of today is what are we going to do about Nat'l Security, which is THE issue for me in this campaign, and based on the record, I cannot support Kerry. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I wish that there was someone from EITHER party that could relate to the more pressing issues of what we face today. And furthermore, I agree with you that the Bushies are going to use this for political gain, but my point was so are the Dems and I find it a little hypocritical in light of history. At any rate, THEY ALL DO and that's the problem now in the times we live in. Last, since it was brought up here, I've asked you this before, and I'll ask again, please do not label me in with others that you have had encounters on this board in terms of "attacking" persons, you'll find that I rarely intend anything personal. If I do, I'll PM.
  12. True, but I remember very well the Iran-Contra hearings and they were going to impeach his ass... etc. I think there was as much political (note: Washington insiders) hatred for Reagan, but he was almost untouchable simply because of what you just stated.
  13. Many of you know the story about Andre Roy and ss2k and me. And so, it's really cool to see a guy that we have a lot of stories and got to know a little bit about while in the minors skating the Cup.
  14. Oh and one more thing. I didn't agree with Billy Clinton, but when his day comes, I would hope that whoever is in the White House, Rep. or Dem., would do at least the same. He was a very popular president as well and deserves at least the same as Reagan.
  15. Ummm, when Nixon died, they closed the post offices and other "non-essential" government offices. I do remember that. And since you decided to make this a partisan argument, I find it hypocritical that the Dems, who HATED Reagan when in office, are now slobbering over themselves to talk about what a great man and President he was, "for the cheap glory and a few votes". Having said all that, "GW isn't qualified to carry Reagan's Bedtime for Bonzo script.", now that is seriously - that is a great line.
  16. That third period is what hockey is all about. What a period, what a game, what a series. And Tampa wins the Cup - that is one sentance that I wouldn't think I would see.
  17. Ahhh, I know what Tampa sounds like... I shoulda held out for going to game 7 instead of going to game 2.
  18. And speaking of geeks, here's a test for ya... http://www.innergeeks.us/geeks.html
  19. THAT's where you are wrong buddy! We will figure it ALL out...
  20. Don't hate me for this but an 18 yo with that kind of hook is beggin' for elbow trouble.

    Student Loans

Remember, YOU HAVE TO PAY IT BACK. If you don't you can't get that new car, new house, new wife, new kid, you get the picture. That's the single biggest piece of advice I can tell you. It's so easy to sign those papers 18 years old, never being responsible to pay off anything before this. Trust me, those loans get pretty damn burdensome your first year out. Also, try to be really careful on the interest rate stuff, there's a lot of debate going back and forth about whether to cancel out locking in on the low rates. If you can pay a little in school on loans, it helps tremendously as well. More later...
  22. I think we're getting even more of a sense of what "doables" really means.
  23. ROTFLMAO. Nice pic of GWB. Very good, cw.
