  1. There's sort of a funny story to that, the place I used to work at, was the grandson of the famed Anna Nicole's husband. I know a couple of times he got really pissed when people asked him about it. So having said that, I always wanted to ask him about his "wonderful" grandmother, who was younger then even the grandchild... just to see the reaction...

    Osama and Hussein

Ahhh, but facts like these are ok when it suits a particular political purpose.

    Allergy question..

Um... this is not a fun thing. Do you really want to know what they do? I will only tell you if you promise to still go.
  4. Because he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly, widower father died, Charles decided he needed a woman to enjoy it with. Going to a singles' bar, he spotted a woman whose beauty took his breath away. "I'm just an ordinary man," he said, walking up to her, "but in just a week or two, my father will die and I'll inherit 20 million dollars and would like to have someone to share it with." The woman went home with Charles, and the next day she became his stepmother. Men will never learn.
  5. This from the AP wire on the Rangers-Cardinals game @ Arlington: ------------------- St. Louis led 12-0 in the third when a foul ball hit into the stands by Matthews got more attention than anything on the field. In the ensuing scramble, a husky man jumped over a row of seats and wrestled the ball away from a 4-year-old boy. To no avail, fans started chanting ``Give him the ball! Give him the ball!'' But the boy ended up with much more than one ball. In the next few minutes, both teams sent bats and balls to the boy, including Cardinals outfielderReggie Sanders coming out between innings to do so. -------------------- First, someone ought to kick that guy's ass for taking a ball away from a kid like that, but... That's a classy move by both clubs and also, to Reggie Sanders. That's awesome and what an athlete should do.
  6. Yes, but he's injured. IIRC, he might be on the shelf for the rest of the season.
  7. The CEO of our company has a great saying. Hope=delayed disappointment. And, in this case, I couldn't agree more.
  8. First, ya, I shouldn't have said that, sorry. I didn't mean to infer you're "dumb". I hear what you're saying but this team is NOT a deep playoff team unless they get some pitching. And that is more of a glaring need then a player who even could do what all you are saying. So, one outweighs the other, and that should be the focus.
  9. Man there is some crazy stuff out there. :headshake Why would you trade one headcase for another headcase at this point in the season? You need someone who can and will get the job done, not someone who is a mental case that we have to work with. So again, I say, this won't happen either. Now if this were the offseason, I could see it.
  10. :fyou :fyou :fyou There. Now I feel better.
  11. Yea but there is about as much love between Bora$$ and KW as Cdub has for Reagan and Bush... They don't even want to deal at all, and they won't. And furthermore, would you trade your top prospects for a one year rental? What does that get you? Nothing, in the long term, Beltran is not what the Sox need. This is a dumb conversation, no offense personally intended.
  12. Let me interject here that it's pretty funny about how many rumors are flying around, this from a cheap ass owner who will never trade for anything or open up the checkbook. My how things have changed since February.
  13. I just said this another way in another thread, and I'll say it here again another way: Put the crack pipe down. Beltran is a Bora$$ client, therefore, the Sox will not take him unless hell just got some ice water. So let's just stop talking about this cause it ain't gonna happen.
  14. Isn't Beltran represented by Bora$$? If so, hell will freeze over before he sees The Cell wearing a home uniform.

    Good marketing

Oh ya, you have to put in an email addy. Might I suggest anti-spam email account (everyone needs a junk email account) since you will probably get emails up the ying yang from the Dem. Nat'l Committee.

    Good marketing

Check this out. This is pretty good marketing for the Dems.Linky Link
  17. The only thing that everyone here who is a hockey fan needs to remember one thing. This is politics. Owners are Dems, Players are Republicans, or vice versa. Now, remember, when it comes to politics, they are going to use the media to spew forth information that they want to get across. The bottom line: don't believe everything you read in the press over the next two months. I know a few NHLPA people. They know what's at stake. I think there will be a lockout, but not as bad as some people think.

    Ron Reagan

First, you have to be related to cdub because he's following every one of your little jabs at "conservatives" blessing every damn thing you have to say, and quite frankly it's nauseating. Civics lesson #1: Who writes the laws, and passes the budgets? The House of Representatives (Congress!!!) Kind of ironic how CONGRESS votes all that stuff in the 1980s and THEY were the ones originating the bills, and then Glory Boy Clinton gets all the credit for narrowing the deficit, when a REPUBLICAN congress orgininated all the bills that balanced the budget. Think before you just bless everything you hear. BTW, it's not to say that everything Reagan was good. I'm glad the political shanigans we watched this week are over. But still, there is a lot of hatred going on around here. I think I'm done with SLAP for a while. Too much self-serving ass kissing going on around here. :puke
  19. And just so you know, electoral votes are determined for each state according to: # of House Reps PLUS 2 more (# of senators for every state). So, Indiana has 9 representatives +2 or 11 electoral collage votes. Plus add three for Wash. DC. Which, coincidentally is the smallest # of electoral votes any one state can have.
  20. I have to disagree with you there, Tex, what about the da-da-da-da-dum.... KERRY AFFAIR with the intern? That turned out to be horse s*** and Drudge ran with it.
  21. And while we're at it, how about Mr. Peter Jennings tonight when the funeral was on? I about upchecked my dinner when that asshole did what he did. Perfectly quiet, respecting moment as the casket was going up the stairs, and to make the comment about (paraphrasing) Reagan's relationship with the African-American community or lack thereof ... but naaaaaaah, there's no bias there. None at all. What Bull s***. And then, later in the broadcast, Sam Donaldson (who I think is a dick anyway) went into the 5 minute speil about what would Reagan think of Bush administration policy about not showing the caskets coming back from Iraq? Look, these are valid points - and some that could be debated in the RIGHT TIME AND PLACE. But these f***ers are supposed to be broadcasting the NEWS, not editorializing as they go... but... there's no slant in the mainstream media.*cough cough*
  22. Naah, don't go... Seriously, keep posting what you think, but always remember, there are always two sides to every story, especially a political story. As you learn more and more, you can formulate your own opinions, notwithstanding what any of us say here. Some people are really passionate about what they think and rarely can express the good and bad of both sides. Your own experiences will guide you ... don't believe everything you hear, and always look past the surface, and you're gonna be just fine.
