  1. Me smells "opportunity". And it's frickin' sad. Enough's enough, and I'm on the kid's side.
  2. In the mid 30's he was a broadcaster for the Cubs, that's how he got his break in Hollywood. Oh, he was better then Harry.
  3. It's a great honor, you should be proud. You should just go take the writer's place, because you know more then they do, and you're right.
  4. Wow, maybe steff could become the new Kotex-Girl?
  5. And I wonder why that is? *cough cough 5th starter cough cough*

This is where I differ about things with Clinton. I could care less about who he boinked or got a knob polish from. Whatever. It's his business. That he lied about it under oath as a sitting president is what I have an issue with, as that mocks what this country is all about.
  7. Wow, Texas is still ahead of the Sox? They both are still playing pretty well, all things considered.
  8. Light-hearted thread my ass. :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou Whew. Again, there, I feel better.
  9. I got that invalid password screen - it took me back to the old login screen - I entered my password again and it let me in. However, as a bunch of billionaires, you would think that they would have tested all this. It was kinda cool to see my 55% used go down to 3% used though...
  10. Indeed. The only part is, though, is to not become apethetic to what's happened. I agree that some of the original author's comments are ignorant, but at the same time, I think that our nation is trying to do the best it knows how to do. Oftentimes, we become so desenitized to events and happenings, that we lose focus on what really matters.
  11. Thanks for the link, I will read this in more detail. Now, these types of things I love to debate. I'd like to take every one of these and debate the whys and why nots and agrees and disagrees. You game? That's the stuff I love debating about, not the baloney that admittedly I'm engaged in on some of these other threads. And I think that's where we can educate a lot of folks, particularly the younger ones here. But more importantly, I think that these are well articulated and have a lot of thought behind them. However, Mr. Kerry MUST get better at defining why he's taking the stances listed on this link. If he doesn't have an audible message to the American people about why this list is better for America, he's going to have a hard time winning the election.
  12. This is a good read, and what I've been asking and/or saying for months. I still don't know what Mr. Kerry stands for.
  13. Oh what the hell. Let's make this political, 'cause it already is. So, when Bill Clinton sent troops over to Somolia, to die, I guess that makes Bill Clinton someone who needs vetted because he himself wasn't enlisted and in the line of fire. Or what about the Balkans? Oh, that was a UN sanctioned event. That makes it different. But, nonetheless, Clinton chose to put troops in harms way, so why the hell don't you roast his ass the same way you are so quick to any Republican who does so? Why don't you say these same things to Apu on his points? Because you agree with Apu, so no need to question that, is there? Disclaimer - and it's sort of messed up that I even have to say this but I will anyway - I'm not trying to start something with Apu, I only use this as a point of reference because often times cw and Apu are closer aligned in political terms, as say cw and mreye, and that's the point I'm trying to make, not to be personal, so please don't roast my ass for it. Anyway, you only reserve comments like that for people who disagree with you. And that's what bothers me. I can't speak for others, but I'd guess the same thing bothers others here.
  14. Here we go again. Dammit, that aggravates me. So, if we choose not to enlist, we have no say or are not able to disagree with the government, republican or democrat? I hate it when the arguement turns into that, and it's shallow as hell. Why did that need to be said here? :headshake

Apu, I agree with you, in that liberitarian is more in line with what most "conservatives" view. The problem with that is, unfortunately, we are in a two party system. If we vote our conscience, we basically get a throw away vote. What are your thoughts about that (I know I'm being waaaay general, but I don't have a heck of a lot of time to expand). Contrary to be standing up for Bush, frankly, I don't really like him. But, I really have more issues with Kerry, and so, I'm stuck voting for no-one I really want to.
  16. Shiner's pretty good stuff, especially ice cold...

Actually, I would like to see your thoughts to those issues when you have a moment. The other thing that I'll add, and I still have not been able to get this clearly defined. I have a hard time with Kerry for what ss2k has down, but I also have a difficult time because his answers seem to change quite often, on some pretty important issues. And, also, whenever the question is asked of what he would do differently then the current Administration, we get the canned "I'll do what's best for America" BS answer. Well, of course he will. HOW will we get out of Iraq? HOW will you balance the budget, in light of all the extra spending for defense? HOW will you cut defense spending, yet make America better prepared defensively? WHY will you raise taxes? How will you keep the economy growing in light of less money flowing through the economy? I hear that all these things are going to be done, but not a lick of why and how. IMO, this hurts the credibility of Kerry. He needs to choose his VeeP, and start defining as to why he's a better candidate. Now what he's going to do but why he's going to do it and how it will make America better. Until then, he has not an ounce of credibility in my book.
  18. The Ranger announcers are pretty good. And they just got better IMO.
  19. :headshake That's just wrong... yeeeaozahs.
  20. Yea, Mr. Cheney is the person running the show, which honestly makes me :puke They're getting all the stuff rammed through from when Big Dad-day was in the White House done now. The biggest thing is the making of the middle east map. Dangerous stuff.
  21. Aren't 10 or 12 of them in the last three weeks of the season?

cw, I agree 100% with this assessment. Lugar is one of the most under-rated senators in Wash. DC, IMO. The man has paid his dues and foreign policy matters are his forte. If you really wanted to bolster the ticket for Kerry, I'd almost be tempted to vote for a Kerry-Lugar ticket... ... (but not quite)... I agree with cw on a political matter! *faints*
