Was at the KC-Texas Rangers game last night. Yikes. The KC Bullpen is just not much to speak of. There was only one guy that did his job, and he only faced one batter (made Hank Blalock look foolish). After watching last night, if a team can get to KC's starters, frankly, they don't scare me at all in terms of fighting back against the Sox. The Sox have the bullpen smoked for KC, despite the problems in ChiTown. It'll be interesting to follow the quest to get back into the race for KC, but I like the Sox a whole lot better after watching KC last night (yes I know, it was one night, but still...)

I agree 100%. Politics is frustrating because of that, and the two party system sucks balls - along with the financing that goes with the two party system. There's nothing else to be said.

I'll tell you... I would vote Democrat in a heart beat, IF they could ever get a candidate worth a damn. I think that's my frustration with the political system as it is now. The current administration (and governors in the case of Fla.) have all these "conservatives" that are taking things so far to the political right that us "moderate republicans" have nothing to migrate toward, and the Dems can't seem to find a message that resonates besides "we're better then what's there now." WHY???????????????????????????????????? I STILL can't get an answer to that. Sorry... the way you phrased that just keeps resonating this louder and louder in my mind. I just want someone that would actually govern from the center and for middle every day America.

They were reincarnated?

Jeb Bush dropped the gas tax in Fla. - it's .08 a gallon... But I'm sure it's not political, it's just for the great people in Fla. that are working so hard...

John F. Kerry (Heinz) IIRC is the wealthiest senator on Capital Hill by net worth. I had the list and I remember him being on top of it, I can't remember if that's changed in the last couple of years or not. Anyway, that's when I get pissed off. We need "sacrifice", but those guys wouldn't know "sacrifice" now if they got it tattooed on their forehead.

But you already are, have you looked in the mirror lately?

no wait... THE CUBS ARE THE FAVORITES. THE CUBS ARE THE FAVORITES. THE CUBS ARE THE FAVORITES. (Using that reverse logic we came up with a couple of months back).

There shouldn't even be a next season. The show has ran its course and the voting crap this year just emphasizes the point.

Ya, I gotta admit, it would be pretty darn neat for the guy with a death wish for you and I to actually skate around with THE Cup.

Frozen Futures: ESPN, NBC Reach NHL Deal
kapkomet replied to Goldmember's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
The latest stuff I'm hearing, from a player's persective, is that they need -NEEEEEEEEEED - to get a deal done, and both sides know it. At the April meetings, progress was made but was never really reported. They're supposed to talk again next week, and some of the cards will start to be put on the table on the major issues. Hopefully, that will lead to an agreement - there are a few owners who are dug in real deep, led of course by Wirtzy, but some know that they have to ease off the cap talk and come up with a mechinism more closely aligned with baseball (revenue sharing). -
Word! If they win tonight, I may have a chance to see a FINALS game in Tampa... I'll be there in a heartbeat if this works out...

I was reading a story about US forces surrounding Chabli's home, one of the persons that was "on our side" during the runup to the war, and for months afterward, he was the one that was going to lead Iraq in the post-saddam era. The Iraqi's claim that the US is trying to bully him back into our way of thinking regarding the handoff of the government post June 30. He wants Iraq to have more control and the US is resisting, prompting what he calls "harassment" by US forces. The more I read stuff like this, the worse it gets for us. I'm one that thinks we need to finish the job over there, but if we're going to play favorites and if someone disagrees with us over there, we need to get the hell out of the way and let them disagree. I really am starting to think with all the political pressures and bias here, we're slowly eroding any hope of successfully implementing a decent government over there.

We ARE spoiled over here on that front. We're finally getting to where we're paying 50% of what the rest of the world is paying.

Talk to your buddies in Detroit who have been sitting on the patents of these hybrid cars for YEARS. Also, the steel indsutry, the oil industry, the auto industry, they all have a hand at keeping things just the way they are...

I've seen several places where it has the sticker on there for Federal tax amount = xx.x cents. But I haven't seen the breakout on state taxes. Now I know why. So let me get this straight. Gas is .80 cents a gallon cost. And they charge an excise tax of x.x%, right? And then gas goes up to 1.20 cost. And they still get to charge x.x%? What a freakin' deal!!!!

FINE, I think I will...

I never even thought about that. Interesting observation. And... that is part of the reason that no one at the government level is b****ing.

I saw them twice, when they opened American Airlines Center in Dallas three years ago, and then last year when they came back. The first event ever in the new arena in Dallas, they opened it with 7 bridges road, that was awesome. Last year, they didn't have it on their playset, I was disappointed with that. But it is a great, great show.

sounds like you are doing "save target as..." as opposed to "save picture as..." when you right click. that's what the .lnk extension is telling you.

The park looks great. Gees, it's been a while since I've been there. It looks nothing like it used to.

My opinion is that chiro's generally aren't the way to go, but that's me talking about the benefits of physical therapy instead of chiros. I could write a book about it, but, I'll spare you. Even a general practioner is better - they can refer you to other places should you need it. Not making light of your situation, but what will happen is you will get worse before you get better, and it's better to have a muscle relaxer type of thing to allow your muscles around the injury to not bunch up around it... that will make you feel a lot better and allow the injury to heal better. In about a week or so you'll be fine, but if it happened yesterday, tomorrow and Thursday will be worst for you.
