And it needs to be supported with good defense. Also, at the deadline, pitching has much greater value...create a surplus, and that is a quick way to get positional talent into your system. Plus, I like the idea of NOT doing what the crowd is doing. You may get a surplus/bargain that way. I noticed that the Cubs shifted gears and had an almost all-pitching draft this year

Since the Sox are going to be under penalty anyway, is there any reason not to trade all of it if they can? Is there any financial tax involved for going over? Heck, theoretically from the Rangers point of view, if they were over their pool, trading one player away to prevent a 2 year penalty is an incredible bargain.

I wonder about Henry Owens as a throw-in. Former top prospect turned epic failure.
