  1. I'd love for Ozuna to rip a double off the baggy right here....
  2. Good piece of 'wood work', as Hawk would say, by Joe there. Take what you're given, Crede got an offspeed pitch, and flipped it out to right-center. Nice, Joe, we need more of that out of you.
  3. What the f*** is this? I think I'm gonna puke, that fat guy doing gymnastics... :headshake
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 01:50 AM) Ain't that the tryuth. April 10th and I'm already tired of it. Same as last year, YAS and Boz. We win a game, we're World Series bound. We lose a game, we'll be lucky to win 50. The highs and lows are really unbelievable... Hey -- see, nice play by Crede, and I doubt Ozuna makes that play.
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 01:48 AM) Jugger, santana lost his form i see. Yeah, it's ok, he's sucked in his last four starts, it's all good qwert... :rolly
  6. Santana's in a groove. We're still gonna take two out of three, though, and who knows, maybe we can string together a late run here. Iguchi seems to be the only guy on the team with the right approach tonight, like you were saying Jim...
  7. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 01:43 AM) Many would say the same about a lot of the stuff you post around here...But deny that all you want as well. HIYO!
  8. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 01:31 AM) Crede hit .239 last season, not .250. It's going to be hard to root for a guy that hits under .240 and continues to show why his defense is overrated. Fine, don't root for him, but don't call him a 'retard' either...
  9. Nice job by Iguchi on the 0-2 pitch, but now I remember why I don't want Uribe stealing. He's out easy if Rivas was there in time. Nonetheless, good work, keep put up goose-eggs, Mark!
  10. A petty concern of mine early on is that Buehrle doesn't have that giddyup on his fastball right now. Hopefully he'll settle into a groove, though. Good work Mark, after two, 1-0 Good Guys.
  11. LOL! "If you need to smoke, you should either go outside, or you need to just quit!" Casey was a riot...
  12. I love how a career .258 hitter knows so damn much...
  13. QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) I don't understand why Timo Perez is such a lightning rod on this board. He's a backup player, that's it, not worth all this back and forth that's been going on here for the last 6 months. Jim, the only reason I harp on it so much is because I want the Sox to have the best chance to win each and every night out, and I don't feel that Timo hitting fifth gives the Sox the best chance to win. I understand Dye needing the day off, but that doesn't mean you put Timo 5th -- IMHO...
  14. QUOTE(SEALgep @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) Some people are never happy. I'm sorry for not wanting a guy with a .692 OPS hitting 5th. And, if he wanted to break up the righties, put AJ fifth. AJ's OPS isn't great either, but he's much better than Timo. And, Ozuna leading off tonight... :banghead :banghead :banghead
  15. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) Santana's pc's/mo 04: Apr 450, May 554, Jun 556, Jul 648, Aug 647, Sep 563. Mark's pc's/mo 04: Apr 491, May 664, Jun 625, Jul 606, Aug 634, Sep 677 Mark has proven to be both a work horse & a good pitcher. Santana has not & his last 4 starts don't exactly suggest he will. Wow, four whole starts? :rolly
  16. DiMarco shoulda had it won. That chip in was half down, I don't know how the hell it popped out. Am I the only one rooting for DiMarco? I dunno, I don't really watch golf a lot, but Tiger never gives me a good impression. I'm cheering for DiMarco to take it to Tiger in the playoff.
  17. QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) omg ur credibility just went down the drain again :headshake It's true. The way some of the people in the media are talking about Lee and Valentin, you'd think they'd have killed someone... EDIT: And that pitch by Rusch was nasty.
  18. For anyone watching the game, it's the top of the tenth -- and tell me that Carlos Lee doesn't go hard into second base. He prevented Walker by turning that, he absolutely took out Walker...
  19. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) Yes, let's get worried because we have such a large sample size. Yeah, but we don't have a whole lot of OBP guys in our lineup. Iguchi could be one, but Thomas is the only guy in our lineup who's going to get on at a great clip. Everett, Konerko, and Rowand should all be up there in the .350's, but after that, I really don't know... I'm cautiously optimistic, but that stat needs to be higher if we want to win consistently...
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) And some other stats so far (thru games as of 4/8/05) OBP - .286 BA/RISP - .167 ISO - .167 SLG - .420 FIP - 3.28 G/F - 1.82 IF/Fly - .235 K/9 - 7.3 BB/9 - 3.1 We have a team .286 OBP? Ewww...
  21. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Williams has made a number of solid moves He got Marte, Politte, Hermanson for nothing. Did a good job on the uribe trade. Made a nice move getting Garcia and, more importantly, resigning him for three years. Got Esty for nothing and turned him into Contreras, who was the guy everybody wanted a couple of years ago. Got AJ cheap. Got Dye for one third of the price of Magglio. He HAS made some bad deals in his tenure: Wells and Fogg for Ritchie; Foulke and friends for a burned out Koch; overpaying for Carl Everett a couple of times. Not having an alternative for Crede. But I like the fact that he really does seem as if he wants to win -- and does what he can under the financial restrictions set by Reinsdorf. We won't know how good this team is for a couple of months. But the thought process behind putting it together is sensible. I'll just say this -- every year, we've said he's made good moves, yet we haven't been in the playoffs since 2000. And no more b****ing about the payroll. SS2k posted that USA Today article that said we're something like 13th in payroll, that's better than MLB average, there's no excuse for not winning. $75 million + is plenty to win on. I like Williams, I think he's done a pretty good job and gets bashed a lot of times just for the sake of bashing him. But, eventually you gotta get some results, and we haven't had any yet...
  22. QUOTE(Be Good @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 06:15 AM) Mute the TV and listen to the radio... Problem with that is, the High Def. broadcast is several seconds (3 to 4) behind the actual broadcast. So, if I wanted to listen to the game on the radio, I'd hear Rooney and Farmer talking about a homerun ball in the seats, while I'd just be seeing the guy hitting homer. And, if you've ever watched/listened to a game like that, it's annoying as hell.
  23. Is Young being rushed a little bit? I know he walks a lot, but I would have liked to see more strike zone control as far as less K's at Salem, but maybe that's just a petty concern...
