QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) It may also have something to do with the fact that Cotts outpitched Walker in spring training, has better stuff, is more superior...do I need to go on? Give it a f***ing rest people, Sox are going to lose games. Get the blame out of the players cause this was yet another piss poor managerial job by Ozzie. At the same time, last I looked the club is still playing good baseball. Get over it. Great post. Walker sucks. Cotts>Walker. I laughed on the first page when I saw someone suggest bringing up Walker in place of Cotts. I'm sorry, but that's a joke -- to me.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Were you complaing before the game? That's the thing. Lots of Ozzie b****ing now, none before the game. Just a bad break, really, that's all you can say about it. -

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) Ouch. El Duque off to a rough start. Runners on 2 and 3. 1-1. 1 out. Didn't you say that you didn't catch El Duque's last outing? Stop watching... -

I have a not so good feeling about the game. I dunno why, I just have this feeling that Hernandez gets rocked tonight. Here's to hoping I'm wrong! Go out and dominate tonight, Orlando! -
Badger, that's exactly what I was puzzled by, too...

The Sox also got mentioned in THT's weekly feature, "Ten Things I Didn't Know Last Week". (Link):

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) ONly for those in the Boston and NY markets. In a few years, I hope there's sort of an option for people who are not in any of the markets (say Boston, New York, Cleveland, or Chicago) to choose which game you want to watch. That's be a real great option to have... -
Twins stand at 5-3 after beating the Tigers twice, and will go for the sweep tonight with Radke on the bump. Thanks for helping us out, Dmitri... :rolly

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) I can't wait to hear the "De-Troit Sucks" chant at the ballpark this year. Games are a lot more exciting when there is something extra to cheer or jeer about. Oh, the De-Troit Sucks chant is definitely one of the best in sports. Short and sweet. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) Your first mod action How did it feel? Can you feel the power yet? LOL, it was nerve wrecking. I couldn't sleep last night, the power is overwhelming...

BB, how is Jenks looking? You attend the Birmingham games, correct? What's the fastball poppin' at?

Link I've been reading more and more stuff written at The Hardball Times, they really give you a lot of good information over there. Oh -- and I didn't know Gooden's second year in the bigs was so damn good. 1.50 ERA or so, 270+ IP? That's f***in' nasty...

Does anyone in the Tiger organization like Bobby Higginson anymore? Hell, I think I heard a quote from Dmitri Young basically saying that Thames is getting screwed if he's off the roster because Higgy is on it. And, that's the problem with Magglio's contract. He can be hurt anywhere else but the knee, and still rake in most of the money he signed for. I can't see how anyone can defend that deal -- all it did was buy some season tickets for their fanbase, and maybe give them some false hope. Well, I'm sure as hell glad that JD Drew wasn't the one that Detroit signed...

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 04:10 AM) NCAA Tournament? Nothing. And kap, 20 f***ing teams? :headshake Yuck. Keep it the way it is -- eight teams per conference is perfectly fine with me. I don't understand why they feel they need to NBA-ize the NHL. They're trying to cater to the 'new' fan, rather than keep their old fans. JMHO, but I don't like many of the new changes that might take place, such as bigger nets, shootouts, etc. Why not just create more room in the neutral zone by taking out the red line from the two-line pass? And, refs need to call the game the way it should be called, and there will be no problems. Bettman blows. -
I heard Wunsch talk on the radio a few times, back when Julie Schwieka (sp?) was still working at The Score -- and damn, Julie knew more about baseball than anyone working at that station. Kelly always sounded like a real nice, standup guy. I'm wishing him the best in LA.

Yeah, Glaus has been damn good. And so has Vizquel, too -- he's made some real nice defensive plays. Then again, I dunno -- I think a guy with more range makes a lot of the plays that Vizquel makes look hard, look easy (confusing sentence there). Another guy who's been tearing it up is Jose Valentin. Damn, has he been big for the Dodgers. They got a nice little platoon there with Valentin and that Japanese guy who came over -- Nakamura is it?

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 03:41 AM) (From what I gather, you have to wait a couple years for one of these... Some people would beg to differ with that statement...

Out of all the offseason signings, who do you think has played the best so far in the young season? Jeff Kent is playing awesome for LA early on -- and he's making guys like Harold Reynolds and John Kruk, who predicted the Dodgers to finish behind the D'Backs ( ) in the NL West, look really stupid. But who else is playing well? Obviously, we know who's doing what for the Sox, but anyone pop out to you right away? Pedro? Beltran?

QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) On a side note, what the f is up with Mark Mulder? That's what I want to know. He started to decline in Oakland a bit, but man, he's been pitching really bad lately. For the sake of the Cardinals, I hope he gets it together; they need an anchor to that staff.

I'm gonna merge this with the other thread, just so you know, rv23.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) Hell be up with the Warthogs soon if he continues on like this. And I'd say there isn't a great need to rush at this point. We've got 5 pitchers under contract for next season and B-Mac waiting in the wings, and Gio shouldn't be ready until 2007 at the earliest anyways. I hope he's not rushed nor overworked. He's on the smaller size, they need to keep that arm healthy...
