QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) Edit: now 2-1, double by Baldelli, 2 groundouts. Stud, another pitcher that's from our Central who is going to be an Ace for many years.

QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:18 PM) oh jeeze... I"m drunk and the game hasn't started yet... this could be a problem Mah homie.

QUOTE(Finkelstein @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:14 PM) Anderson CF Uribe SS That's how much Ozzie is pissed at Uribe.
-
QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:03 PM) I predict Gooch will be the DH and Cintron will be at 2B. Any word on the lineup yet? Pods played his best position on the team yesterday. If anyone should be a DH it should be him, then move Mack into LF.

Happy B-Day to two quality posters.. :cheers

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) BTW Soriano just hit his 2nd HR today. He would have looked very nice in LF for us. Oh well. And BMac would have looked extra nice for the Nationals pitching staff.
-
Jon Garland hasn't allowed a HR in 52.1 innings.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) OF prospect, and this year's Jeff Francouer possibly? At least Jeff had decent/respectable AA numbers before being called up. This guy is just flat out going nuts.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) CHT is the other top notch one in Vegas, imo (was there for a short time as my strip club advisors, aka friends, decided Rhino was better). Wasn't in there long enough though to have an opinion and I saw both on the same night. I thought the "girls" were better at the Rhino but I couldn't tell ya guys anything about VIP service or private dances or nothing like that (way too cheap for that). Highlight of your life Jas..?

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 11:17 PM) Upton got called up too BTW. He played today. http://www.rotoworld.com//content/playerpa...MLB&id=3872 The Upton era begins and probably the best guy as far as personality being called up. Young and Dukes are serious cancers.

QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) I think i'm one of the few guys who still has confidence in Freddy. If you think that's bad, I'm probably one of, if not the only one, still backing Vazquez. I'll back anyone on this team not named Pollite (who is gone) I even backed The Widge when he was here on more than one occasions.

I gotta say, if anyone was to say we would be 20 effin games above .500 looking at second place by a large margin, doing it with our offense instead of our pitching and most of the soxtalk posters are freakin out about us just making the playoffs at the begining of the season, I would have died of laughter, went to heaven/hell, resurrected, and died again of more laughter.

QUOTE(Hatchetman @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 10:42 AM) i gotta admit, the lack of censorship was what brought me here in the first place.... In a strange way, your not alone..

Will the real Mark Buehrle please stand up!

I honestly don't think were doing anything this season on the deadline. There will be no "Blum" trades getting done this season for us.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) Yeah, my cousins best friends fathers former dog owners uncle saw Andruw Jones play once, and he thinks that you are wearing blinders. LOL Jones is just in a league of his own. One of the best defensive CF in the game (possibly in the history of baseball when he retires) and his offensive production is just unconsious. He's been doing it since he was a 19 year old kid in a World Series game. He can carry a team just ask Chipper Jones. He is worth that asking price. Would I have made the deal? No, but to say he isn't worth those kind of players is just incorrect. I'm not gonna talk him to death though cause his talent speaks for himself.
-
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) You, my friend, are blinded by the Red Sox nation. ^^^^^^^^^ I chose my words alittle more carefully, but..
-
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) Lester is incredible, I wouldn't trade him for Jones straight up considering you already have Crisp patrolling centerfield. Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. Let's not get carried away. Lester is good, he's going to be a good pitcher, possibly a stud. He's not incredible though. Now a pitcher like Liriano.... he is incredible.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) What? Is this a typo? I didn't mean talent wise. I'm saying they play the same position (CF) so the Braves could move Crisp to CF after the Jones trade since Crisp is still pretty young, or the Braves can possibly move Crisp to LF, or however they plan to use him.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 12:30 PM) Methinks you forget that Andru Jones is pretty good. Ya, that too. That deal was decent but I don't think Lester and Hansen were fair. BoSox could have instead added one of their top spects and possibly could have landed him. But no matter what they wanted Lester and the Sawks didn't want to part with him so whatever was left on the table is mute at this point.
-
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) You don't trade three major league ready, top flight talents for Andruw Jones. I have full confidence that if Jones is acquired, only one at the most of these three will be included. I was actually going to suggest at least two. I would have said Crisp and Lester since they want him so much for Andruw (maybe + $) since Crisp and Jones are a wash at CF, and the Braves get the pitcher they want. Boston could have also ask for some $ or maybe a fringe spect. Noway should the Braves get Lester AND Hansen. Coco, Lester and maybe a spect for Jones and maybe cash considerations could have been more adaquate.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 12:21 PM) Nah, its coco, craig hansen and a prospect accoring to Neyer. It's true. Buster reported the same thing. I posted this in the three way thread. If the BoSox want Jones, they have to part with Lester. That's the main reason this deal isn't done yet. The Braves want Lester.
-
I just heard that the talks were dying down a bit on the three way and the Sawks are trying to get Andrew Jones now. (this of course means Crisp, Hansen, etc.. are likely gone) Only problem is the Braves want Jon Leister and the BoSox don't want to part with him.

http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/press_r...sp&c_id=cin I gotta say the Reds are not playing around. They are looking to go make some noise come Sep-Oct. Lohse will probably thrive in the NL. And of course good move for the Twins considering they got rid of dead weight and got a pretty good looking pitcher in Ward (Reds third round draft pick with impressive numbers this season) who will probably turn into a stud for them considering their farm system and our luck. (right Flash )

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 10:08 AM) To make room for Casey, Detroit optioned the contract of first baseman Chris Shelton to Triple-A Toledo. Shelton hit 10 home runs in the month of April -- nine in the first 13 games -- but has hit only six since. He is batting .277 with 16 homers and 45 RBI in 103 games this season. Ah, have the mighty have fallen.
