Shoey is signed for just this year, and I hope we don't resign him. Considering the young pitchers we have for next year (Cotts will be ready and Diaz is showing promise) we don't need him (only for bullpen help if he's willing) I'd rather resign Loaiza.

If anything, he should be thanking Loaiza. Loaiza showed Shoey the cutter he uses which brought him success last year. Shoey will have some good numbers by the time this year is over. Book it.

That a good number of players shorten thier swings today? I really believe Ozzie had a talk with his players yest. regarding swinging too much for the fences and getting basehits. Lee had a good day, Crede good some good swings (esp. that hanger) Alomar, Uribe, Harris, Ordonez, Valentin (that basehit up the middle was awesome) etc.. Hopefully this will build on the upcomming games we have. (Indians first) BTW, they showed alot of interviews with Ozzie today as well regarding slumps, hitting etc.

For Everett yes, we gave away some talent there (Webster, Rupe the known two.) Alomar... not really (Ring is really overrated here and is getting rocked in AAA right now.)
