QUOTE (CyAcosta41 @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 02:22 PM) That said, this particular move is so quintessentially White Sox. So KW. He always gets his man. All those overhyped Mets pitching prospects of 2005-2010? Humber, Pelfrey, Parnell. The Sox won't quit until we get 'em all! I posted this on the minor league thread, but I remember the rumored Dye deal (I think Jenks was also rumored) to the Mets and Parnell was a rumored name involved plus others. I believe a poster here (Rock?) said there was smoke there at the time too. You ain't kiddin with the KW always gets his man part.

QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 11:29 AM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Source: RHP Bobby Parnell to #WhiteSox on minor-league deal. Haha. I remember when the sox were rumored to Parnell + when he was a prospect in a Dye deal a few years back. I believe Jenks was also rumored. KW always gets his man.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 09:56 PM) Doesn't have closer "stuff". You would never think he's a high pick watching him Looks like a starter to me. Reminds me of Dane Dunning as a bullpen guy who would be better starting. I always thought other guys (Fulmer, Jay, etc) were more bullpen guys in the future.

LeBron was the one who started the whole join teams with all stars. Durant took that up a few notches obviously, but you live by the sword..

QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 03:22 PM) On draft night last year they were in contention and I think the plan was for him to be up before the end of the season. It was a bad pick then and looks even worse now that they're in a rebuild. They also planned to start Burdi at one point before changing their minds on that stance. Collins 7 game hitting streak. Has hit in 10 of last 11 games. Average starting to slowly climb.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 05:01 PM) My problem is, I don't know if the FO would actually cut ties with him before we try to compete. I actually agree with this, especially with JR's loyalty, and the fact he was one of the main reasons they helped recruit Robert to come here.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 05:05 PM) Nah far ftom it. There worst here. They only post when something goes wrong. Fathom has been consistent. A lot worse debbie downers here His Cooper comment yesterday was awful, but I've long said he's one of my favorite posters here for years so sometimes you look past those.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 07:41 PM) Well, it didn't work on Volquez earlier... He's not Sox property so.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 07:31 PM) 5/1/0/0/2/6 Cruising... 72 pitches, so maybe one more inning. 2.72 ERA. The good ol caulfield curse.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 06:10 PM) Has to suck standing out there getting rocked. Feel for the guy.

Make that a 6 game hitting streak for Collins.

Zimmerman did something that I'm shocked not many pitchers do when facing Tim.. don't throw him any strikes.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 04:48 PM) Cafardo with some concerning comments about some teams cooking on Q and questions about his health. He seems fine to me https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/06/cafa...p;post-id=93654 "WBC syndrome".

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 04:37 PM) 1 hit each game? 4 of the 5. Still, a hitting streak is a hitting streak. He's picked up his average quite a bit. I'm sure that will continue as the weather gets warmer.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 04:31 PM) 0-3 3K for Collins. That hit tool is very underwhelming Had a 5 game hitting streak prior to this game.
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 03:48 PM) I think he goes top 10. I'd be underwhelmed with that pick personally. He doesn't have enough power for me. I need my 1B to mash and he just doesn't. He'll hit and he won't strikeout very much but he's probably a 15-20 HR guy. I think you go for upside and guys that might be able to play a premium position when you pick high. Sox can find a 1B when it's time to win. That's just my take though. That's putting it mildly. Dude screams Casey Kotchman to me. Plus, I loathe picking a 1B that high unless he is absolutely special.

If Tim can learn to tone down a bit of his aggressiveness, he'll be a monster.

QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jun 2, 2017 -> 08:40 PM) Jim Margalus at SSS put a Gavin Floyd comp on Giolito and I haven't been able to get it out of my head. I think he'll eventually stick as a SP, but making that happen definitely looks like a long-term project right now. Told my buddy the same comp the other day. Big guys, great frame for pitchers, former 1st round picks who were known since high school with big fastballs at the time. Outstanding curveballs, have/had mechanic issues and mentally at times. Giolito was the better prospect and I think he'll be a better pro, but I will gladly take Floyd's peak 09-11 years from Gio in the future.

I think the refs will help Cleveland win a game, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was a sweep. People forget Curry was injured last year when these two teams met.
-
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ May 31, 2017 -> 06:00 PM) This guy is a mess. He just faced the same team he no hit his last start. You expected him to no hit them again or for that team to not have a better game plan against him?

QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 30, 2017 -> 10:31 AM) Hmm. I think I'd prefer Bukauskas if he's still on the board at that point. https://mobile.twitter.com/670TheScore/stat...550406296375297 Lets hope Bukauskas is rated higher on their board (which I would think he would be). Still hoping a guy like Haseley somehow falls to us of course.

Make that 2 innings, 5 K's for Diaz. 20 strikeouts combined tonight.
-
Victor Diaz works a perfect inning. 3 K's.
