Astros clearly do not need Quintana after their 3-0 shutout win.

Final Four
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 10:55 PM) If you go back to 80's and 90's, seems like almost all of those Tar Heel teams were much more talented. Not even sure J. Jackson ever becomes more than a nice sixth man in the NBA. Roy Williams has never coached a player who became an all star in the NBA. That's pretty incredible.

POSTPONED: Opening Day Game Thread 2017
Rodon to the DL for 6 weeks and the Sox poor handling of this entire situation. We are off to a fantastic start to the 2017 season guys!

Update: Luis Robert has been cleared according to Rosenthal
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 03:59 AM) Delvin Perez is five years away from bring MLB ready. I don't see the Cardinals as good fit in a trade He would also be the best prospect in that proposal by far, and I like Kelly (Sierra is meh). It's just way too risky.

Lester might struggle this year if he's not getting those low/outside zone pitches thanks to Ross' framework.

2017 White Sox prediction thread
I'm going 71-72. Team won't be as bad as people think because that's just what the White Sox do. I expect a few of the kids to add to the win total when they're called up. (And that includes whatever spects we get after Q is traded)

2016-17 NHL Thread
Quenneville has made some questionable decisions in the past, but pairing Oduya with Seabrook might be one of his worst. Those two didn't work together 2-3 years ago and that was when both guys were younger (and in Oduya's case, faster). Why does he think it's going to work now? And I can't believe Panik and Schmaltz didn't sniff the ice in OT, and both guys were our best forwards in the game.

Been a while since the Blackhawks got an ass kicking like that one. (Regardless of terrible officiating). Hjalmarsson had his worst game of his NHL career last night.

Updated teams interested in Q
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) Actually 2nd base has become more and more of a power hitting position as of late. A league average second baseman hit 18 home runs last year I meant traditionally. The Royals won the World Series just 2 years ago with Infante hitting 2 of them the whole season.

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 10:34 AM) You are really underrating how good Ozzie Albies can be MLB.com scouting grades on him = Scouting grades: Hit: 65 | Power: 30 | Run: 70 | Arm: 55 | Field: 65 | Overall: 60 He might never hit for much power, but is a great leader, plus hitter, plus runner and a great fielder Imagine a lineup that had Anderson, Moncada and Albies in it? Young, athletic and dangerous speed. Each of those guys is a threat to steal if they get on base Not to mention 2B isn't a premier power hitting position anyways. If they do get him hypothetically, he or Moncada would have to move to the OF. Depends what the sox value more. Defense or all star appearances.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 21, 2017 -> 03:35 PM) Charlotte is going to be a really fun team to watch this year, at least for the first half. Could/Should be a (first half) playoff team with that pitching.

Tim Anderson signs 6 year extension
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Mar 21, 2017 -> 08:41 AM) I'm sure the Sox would love to approach Rodon about an extension, although I'm not sure if Boras would allow for it Now that'll be a feat any of us would be impressed by if Hahn somehow by the grace of God pulled that off.

QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 21, 2017 -> 01:38 AM) Looks like he took it down, but he posted a screen shot of her page and he was blocked, then another tweet with the broken heart emoji. I guess he deleted them, so welcome to being a 20 year old I guess... For a kid like him, you gotta hope he doesn't have any off the field distractions hurting his performance/development. And this isn't the usual ballplayer dating his high school/college sweetheart here.

QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 11:06 PM) Looks like Kopech broke up with the GF. I also feel so weird posting that considering these are like 21 year old kids, but he posted it on Twitter. Where are you seeing that?

2017 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 02:32 PM) Truth being told, bringing Danks back wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Let him suck up innings and teach some of these kids how to act like a big leaguer. I know his career took a big downward turn after the shoulder surgery, but he was the consummate professional. He took his turn every five days, he took ownership of his body of work, he didn't try to blame someone else for his downfall, and he never caused any problems while he was here. Quintana would have to be dealt to even entertain this scenario.
