  1. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 11:23 PM) Jake Peter is 5-6 tonight.... Meanwhile Chevy Clarke with a game he wishes he can forget.
  2. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 09:42 AM) I let the dog lick them clean. This.
  3. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 10:44 AM) I am nothing Just to one up Sonix.
  4. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 10:05 AM) Passan said that's it, straight up. Wow.. if true, that's a hell of a deal for the Twins. Theo and Jed could of gave them their D prospects and that would've been a better deal for the A's.
  5. Hell of a start to the deadline so far.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 09:50 AM) It may be nothing to do with Danks, but some promotions have happened in the minors. Bucciferro to Birmingham Snodgress to Charlotte Repost that on the FutureSox board flavum. Good stuff man.
  7. Good god, I need to sleep (work tonight) but I'm too excited for something to happen to go to bed. Dammit! Hope Danks (which pains me to say as I'm one of his biggest fans but I understand this franchise needs to move that salary) and Beckham are gone. Viciedo too as I'm one of his least biggest fans. I can settle on watching another couple of months of Dunn if those get done.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 09:25 PM) I could go for a postgame trade announcement. Any late night deal would be heavenly right now.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 08:00 AM) Yeah, that was Steve Is it really that surprising?
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 07:00 PM) Noesi is not afraid of a big inning. He's been a pleasant surprise, but I will be disappointed if he is in the rotation next year Been his achilles heel since he was a Mariner. Good stuff, just gets in trouble early or late with that big inning.
  11. Just brutal. Hope he comes back stronger than ever. Not too many people in the game has that kind of arm.
  12. QUOTE (newguy @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 09:03 AM) Hello everybody. I am Brad's father. I will try to keep the emotion out of the discussion since I am obviously biased. I am only responding to this to provide some additional information. I certainly appreciate all of your positive comments & I hope Brad continues to improve & perform. Regarding the "velocity" concern. I was actually very happy to hear about all the movement of his offspeed pitches. I wonder if the person who wrote that was at the game? Anyway, regardling velocity, Brad typically sits around the 90-91 range, but on a few occasions this year, both at Great Falls & Kannapolis, he has been able to top out at 94. As you stated, more velocity will come as he continues to re-learn how to pitch. He hasn't pitched since his junior year of high school in 2009 & has only been a "pitcher" for about a year now. It was about this time last season at Great Falls that he actually got to pitch in games. Hope that info helps. Welcome to soxtalk! And as I previously stated earlier, definitely rooting for your son. I was actually a fan of his as a position prospect (same with Blanke) so I hope he continues to progress.
  13. Salgado has been outstanding converting into a pitcher so far. Rooting for the kid.
  14. Our old friend Holmberg is pitching for Louisville.
  15. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 07:14 PM) that's, but here is what I learned, with ref to right handed pitching, I will take McHugh, he pitch 3 types of pitches with the fast ball around +/- 92 mph. a slider and a curve ball. Keuchel has 4-5 types of pitches with the FB being his best, 88-90 mph. the pitcher I like is the only Lefty of the group, Cosart, 3 pitches with FB being his best 93-94 +/-. I really wish the sox had picked his brother last yr in the draft. oh well. Cosart is a righty, which makes him pretty intriguing.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 09:54 AM) Eaton has talent. It's his ability to get hurt that worries me. The Carlos Quentin effect.
  17. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 11:00 AM) Could Ravelo be similar to a RH Nick Johnson type offensively? He can be anywhere from Johnson to Casey Kotchman (who ironically I liked alot as well as a prospect in the past) in all honesty. He is a serious wildcard in regsrds to his power.
  18. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 07:43 AM) Tyler Saldhino out for the year. Tommy john surgery That's a shame. Kid had a very good year for the Knights. On the other hand, that means more ABs for Sanchez, Semien and Johnson.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 06:28 PM) Carlos Sanchez grand slam Talk about a bounce back season. What a year he is having.
  20. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 08:35 PM) Let's not forget Kevan Smith. Depending on what you think of his age (considering Phegley is in AAA) and his rawness coming out.. I'm well aware though.
  21. Austin 3-4, 2B, RBI. Would love to see him get hot. IMO, He's the best catching prospect in our system (although I do like Barazza alot too).
  22. Gillaspie is straight murdering the ball. Tumbleweeds just missed that one.
  23. Slayer with probably his most productive game in a while.
  24. Seems like pitchers are pitching around Wilkins more. He's walked 3 times In the last 4 days.
  25. WAS IT OVER WHEN TH... ah I'm not gonna go there.
