  1. God this dreadful Houston bullpen.. people wonder why that team sucks so much.. that's one of the main reasons.
  2. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 09:00 AM) Seriously, though, how hard did the Sox go after these guys? The only one of those three that I remember hearing the Sox pursuing was Cespedes. They were more serious about Soler and Cespedes than the others, but your point remains.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 01:52 AM) Why do you have Stafford and Brees...? More or less stopping a couple other picks after me from getting them. (well.. Stafford since it seems QBs were surprisingly taken extremely early) I'll probably trade one of them soon to fill a need. (alittle weak at TE for example)
  4. Draft is over. Here's my team. Drew Brees - QB Victor Cruz - WR Andre Johnson - WR LeSean McCoy - RB Trent Richardson - RB Brandon Myers - TE Eddie Lacy - RB/FLX Dan Bailey - K NE Defense Bench Eric Decker - WR/FLX Matthew Stafford - QB Miles Austin - WR Daryl Richardson - RB Brandon Pettigrew - TE Denarius Moore - WR Couple guys I'll probably use in future trades, but I like my team.
  5. Well my draft starts tonight and I got the 7th pick this year. I'm sure guys like Rice, Richardson, potentially McCoy, Lynch, Morris will be there as well as Megatron (I'm assuming guys like AP, Foster, Martin, Charles, maybe Spiller might be gone). My next pick is in #4 in the second round in a 10 team draft. My question is should I still use my first pick on a RB like McCoy/Spiller/Richardson then go from there or maybe use some strategy and try to nab Megatron (beef up my WR core with maybe Marshall in the second) and then get a RB in the 3rd round like say.. a MJD/Chris Johnson/Ridley/Murray then maybe Brown in the later rounds? I'm strongly leaning toward the second one, but I might be over analyzing (I'll kick myself if say.. a Julio Jones was available in the 4th/5th round) but I wouldn't mind some opinions on this.
  6. That's been Bristol's M.O. the whole season. Get off to a great start in a game, then promptly gives up the lead. Would like to see Nolan Earley go to a winning environment like Great Falls (start in LF) for their playoff run. He (and Toby Thomas) is literally their only offense in Bristol, but damn.. pretty much everyone in GF is hitting well.
  7. ICHIRO is f***ing tits! / this fgucking theread!

    i am drunk in 2013

Havent been in this s***ty thread in like a year but I'm fuccccked up son! Got like 4 numbers and going to sum chicks house from one of the numbers I got... idk.. s*** is too crazy, feel like I'm f***ing young again and even though I still am, 26 is getting up there. s*** is crazy! Not fuclking "hammered" per say but good drunk. Love you b****jes. See youz tomorrow.
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 17, 2013 -> 08:20 PM) The return for Frasor still looks pretty awesome. How does the return for Santos (who actually was a closer for us) look? You gotta take every trade with hindsight. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Aug 17, 2013 -> 08:41 PM) Why is it funny? I think some of us just feel uncomfortable when Reed is out there. He's good most of the time but he's rarely 1-2-3 nails in the coffin. You gotta be able to appreciate that point of view. Not every closer is going to be Rivera, 02-04 Gagne, etc. How do we know if Webb is going to do what Reed has done? Hell, Reed was the more promising prospect in the minors and put up better stats. As much as I like Webb (who I believe can turn into a tick below rookie version of Bobby Jenks) he's a complete wildcard. Kid was a bit of a headcase mentally at times as a young starter. Glad he's found his niche and is succeeding though.
  10. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 17, 2013 -> 08:41 PM) Dunn and Konerko neck and neck at .241. This might interest me who finishes with a higher average as the season winds down here.
  11. OT: But that kid Dariel Alvarez has been flat out raking.
  12. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Aug 17, 2013 -> 05:35 PM) Hard for me to disagree with you. Excited to see what Webb brings. Lets hope Addison doesn't get totally exposed the rest of the year so we can trade him for other young talent. I'm probably Webb's biggest fan (liked him since his draft year and was my sleeper pick for two years) but I find it funny people are adamant on trading Reed who is only six months older than Webb, has major league experience and is cost controlled. Reed's been a closer for years. No doubt in my mind he's good enough and has the mindset (who knows with Webb).
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 09:14 PM) Grand slam for Engel He stole home as well.

QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Aug 12, 2013 -> 08:23 PM) Maybe the shock of walking twice in one game was too much for him to handle. And did Snodgress and Molina switch names or something? Would think those pitching lines would be reversed.
  16. 4th complete game of the year and he only has 8 wins.. unreal.
  17. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 12, 2013 -> 01:01 AM) Rondon, Kolen, Gatewood. I want one of those 3. God I'm tired of people calling Carlos Rodon "Rondon." Secondly, still way too early to judge right now. Other than Rodon, it's still pretty much wide open. A guy like Beede, Toussaint, (who I'm personally high on) Turner, Jackson, Burdi, Cederoth, Hoffman etc. could all sneak in the top 3-5 discussion.
  18. I like how pitting Alexei in the 3 spot suddenly changes him into a completely different player. (namely the power)
  19. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 04:31 PM) Gavin Floyd wears 34. Don't think we can give it to him yet Holy crap, totally forgot that guy was still technically here. That's how much I've been following this team.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 02:56 PM) Ahh-vee-sah-eel May I call you Avi? Garcia will wear 26. He'll have to wait for 34, unless he doesn't care. Damn you whitesox. There isn't even a player on the 40 man wearing that number. Would help alot of people who already have #34 Garcia jerseys too.
  21. Trade is growing on me as far as the player, but it had to be done financially. Should be interesting to see where the sox end up with now in the draft pick standings down the stretch.
  22. I still would like to see Garcia get the development time down there to still work on his plate discipline, regardless if Rios goes or not.
  23. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 7, 2013 -> 12:32 PM) Secondly, Quintana never really accomplished anything before his positive test, so it's not anywhere near the same as Braun or ARod, who won MVP awards while on PEDs. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 7, 2013 -> 12:38 PM) Correct, although it won't (or hasn't if they did or didn't know) stop people on this board for mentioning the positive test, even as a 17 year old kid. Case in point. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 7, 2013 -> 12:54 PM) Not to mention, the Sox have Quintana and Flowers on the roster who have both tested positive. Just funny.
  24.
