  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 09:10 AM) Sorry Rock, but apparently The Sanchise has snagged Kate Upton. For being such a bad QB, he sure has taken advantage of his status. He sure loves younger women..
  2. QUOTE (Real @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 06:11 AM) He'll be 27 in april.. not exactly a spring chicken, but maybe your definition of a young athlete is different than mine That is plenty young in baseball terms (just entering the beginning of prime years), not boxing. And I feel insulted you consider 27 "old" sir.
  3. I am beyond happy to hear this. Danks is a friggin stud. Yes I'm probably his biggest fan on the board, but I still firmly believe he has alot of untapped potential. He is also still very young to build around for this team.
  4. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 20, 2011 -> 11:54 PM) He does. But his range and reads are not very good. He by no means is considered a good defender. Sox wasted a year (some would argue two) of development time defensively on him. Still bitter that they waited as long as they did.
  5. Pretty much why he's one of the best GMs in the game already. (and why J4L has a hard on for him)
  6. QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 09:23 PM) Kim Jong Il. Random fact: His favorite basketball team was the Chicago Bulls.
  7. QUOTE (Boogua @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 11:36 PM) It's difficult to believe because this could have been a historical season. Does going undefeated in the regular season mean that they were going to lose in the playoffs? Ask the Patriots? The Patriots faced a nightmare matchup in the Giants ( a team that had a dominant front 4) and still had the lead with only a few minutes left on the clock. Do you think if the Patriots would have lost in the regular season that they would have won the superbowl? I guess I don't understand the logic. I don't think you realize the insane amount of pressure teams/players have to endure when the media/fans/other teams/etc. bring up an undefeated season. Rodgers said it best after the post game that he'd rather win the super bowl anyways and he's right. Noone ever talks about a team undefeated regardless of historical circumstance unless they win the whole thing. Hell I still remember Patriot fans crowing that undefeated team as locks for the Lombardi and for a while they looked right as they were winning alot of blowout and close games (they nearly lost to I believe Oakland in one of the later weeks of that season to only rally and beat them) and looked like they had found out ways to win in every sense to prepare them. Neither you nor I knows if losing in the regular season would of had any difference on that team anyways (as you said they were still winning that game, and the ball just happened to bounce the Giants way [or helmet] one way or another). I'll just go by the players who actually play the game at that level when they talk about their mind set/psyche of not having that build up.
  8. QUOTE (Boogua @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 10:59 PM) So you're a packers fan and you don't mind a loss that ruined what could have easily been an undefeated regular season? I find that somewhat difficult to believe. Why is that difficult to believe? (I won't go into detail, but I'm sure someone will say "Ask the Patriots") And ya.. he's a Packer fan.. that just saw his team win the damn super bowl last season.
  9. 15 years later... Teemu Selänne returns to play in Winnipeg tonight. Very cool.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 11:29 AM) Look at the Astros selling high on a closer. With Bard in the rotation, and Papelbon gone, the BoSox definitely needed the bullpen help. I doubt he would close in Boston though. That is a very good trade for the Stros.
  11. Man that sucks. Gotta feel bad for him and young Hawks fans who still might not have seen him play live since the Hawks were 'relevant'. It's been five years since Crosby played against us and six years since he played in Chicago (his rookie year). The last time he played against the Hawks was February 14th, 2007. (which was in Pittsburgh) He played 81 games in 2009-10. Only game that he missed that year was against.... yep... the Hawks. He played 77 games in 2008-09. One of those 5 games that he missed was against... da da da da... the Hawks. That is crazy.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) Hmmm, Stults threw 50 innings for the Dodgers in 09, might have caught him on TV, that's probably why. Maybe it's because he pitched a complete game against us a couple years back? I kinda remember that familiar name doing that I think he didn't give much up in hits, maybe like a run or two and this board going nuts. EDIT: Ya I just looked it up. Pitched a complete game, four hit shutout against us 3 years ago. A no stuff, no name lefty blanking us... Shocking.
  13. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) Not a fan of Scheppers or Loux long history of shoulder and elbow. Surgery waiting to happen. I would pass on both-damage goods. I was a big fan of Scheppers at one time and wanted the sox to take him a couple years back. A small part of me would still love to see him here for some reason. Loux.. no thanks (great stuff though).
  14. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 09:59 AM) In a heartbeat. Though I'd much prefer Banuelos. I'll take the stud catcher (or 1B/DH). Betances should be the only prospect KW can hold off on a bit. Yanks probably would then send Romine as a throw in or something. His mechanics scare me (not to mention he's already had surgery on his arm). Good potential none-the-less. In the end.. that's the type of deal you look for. I wouldn't mind Banuelos either though.
  15. That Peyton Manning guy ain't bad either. Ask the Colts this year.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 09:33 AM) I expect you to post at least 15 twitter updates in this thread. And to argue with you about 15 times in this thread. Happy B-Day Mike.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 09:02 AM) I'd take any of those guys straight up for Danks. Same here and I'm Danks biggest fan on this site. If he's gone after this year, might as well get a prospect of that status.
  18. Now they're saying Gordon is back on it and they submitted the report.. weird. If the Hornets get Gordon, that is a great trade for them. EDIT: Wojnarowski is stating that Gordon is included in the deal and Broussard is stating that he isn't. We'll see very soon.
  19. Wow... CP3 going to the Clippers. Deal is close. Eric Gordon isn't involved like in an earlier report(s). T-Wolves unprotected pick also going to Clippers. What a steal if it happens. CP3-Gordon-Blake (I'll also shoutout DeAndre Jordan) Unreal.
  20. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 11:10 AM) I'm not terribly afraid of Shane Battier in Miami. He's a good but not great shooter with no other offensive skills and is strictly a small forward. They already had Mike Miller as a backup wing player too whenever he gets healthy. I guess that means Wade is the PG, Miller at the 2 and Battier as a backup SF/fill-in for when Lebron plays the 4? They'll have to get a bit more creative with their lineups to use him a lot considering they have few PG options and no legitimate centers. I'd have been a lot more worried if they picked up a solid option at one of those positions. I would like to know what you think of the Bulls getting Crawford. I know he has his pros and cons, and I have my mixed reviews on it (more pro after thinking of it, especially the the options out there), but would like to pick your b-ball knowledge a bit on this potential move.
  21. Might not see Terry's dad post here anymore, but best of luck to the Doyles.
