    i am drunk

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) Question. You're always very precise with exactly what, and how much of it, you drank. And you often say you blacked out. How can both of those be true? At times it sounds like some B.S./trying too hard to please crap from my view as a veteran booze whore for years on this board. Not doubting you Russ, but I personally know people like that, even my homies the next day "overexaggerate the truth."

  3. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 10:25 AM) The line and the defense is better overall, but not much IMO. It's not a stupid observation, look at how much he still gets out of the pocket and avoids sacks in many different ways. These are things he didn't do as much early on. And the defense, they've had some better games no doubt, but then go out and give up 330 yesterday..... I don't really have to defend these statements, the coming weeks will prove my point.......enjoy that O line with Hanie back there. I will say your right to an extent that Martz has called more rollout plays for Cutler to help buy his WRs some time with his mobility and bmags is right to an extent that the O-Line has done a much better job blocking in the pocket even when Cutler was in motion early on. I'm not even worried about the O-Line with Hanie back there as he is even faster with mobility in/out of the pocket. What worries me is if he can avoid the mistakes, understand the reads, not hold on to the ball forever (part of his problem in the playoff game last year) and if his arm is strong enough for deep plays. He'll have to play better than 05' Orton as this defense/ST isn't quite up to par with that 05 Bears one.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 09:51 AM) I have never once been confident in a Bears team until the last few weeks. Even the Super Bowl year no one actually thought the Bears would do anything. We kept waiting to be disappointed. This year, these past few weeks, the team looked focking amazing in most every aspect of the game, and the coaches were making all the right decisions. That team had one of the best non super bowl winning defenses in recent memory, Hester at his best beast mode/amazing ST, a hellova O-Line, and one of the more underrated RBs in the game in Thomas Jones. (Benson was a good compliment to him) The only question mark the media/other fans had was at the QB position, and even then most thought the Bears had a Ravens-like chance with that defense. (that's how good they were) That was their highest points for/against ratio in recent memory (+132) as well. Even last year, with that pathetic O-Line, they had a stretch where they went 5-0 after their bye week (same record as this year from their bye in fact) and going 7-2 overall after the bye. People tend to forget last year the Bears only lost by a TD to the eventual champion Packers in the NFC game and that was with Cutler gone for most of it. With all that said though, I still feel that 05 Bears team (year before the SB year) was one of the best I remember. That was when the defense was even more great (202 total points allowed... ) Urlacher was the DPOY that season, and Kyle Orton was a rookie starting. (Grossman destroyed his ankle in week 2) That team's highest points allowed in a game given up that year was 34 and that was the last game of the season when they rested everyone. That was statistically Jones' best season as well. The SB year still irks me in the way that man was used even after Benson got injured (had 112 yards rushing, 7.5 YPC and only 15 running plays called total in the game) along with other things that I didn't quite get in that game, but I digress.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 09:26 AM) This is the very definition of the air being let out of the sails. I've never seen a Bears offense look like this, and that was 100% on Jay Cutler playing his best football. His movement in the pocket has disguised a bad offensive line as adequate, his throws to open players has made guys who run fast look like receivers, and his improved decision-making and rocket arm had him playing as well as any quarterback in the game. This isn't just "put Hanie in and see what happens", this is tragic. This injury has ended to 2011 season, even if we make the playoffs. Without question, the Bears were improving to the point that they were going to challenge Green Bay in the playoffs, of this I have no doubt. The injury bug has bit hard, and in the absolute worst possible spot. I'm hoping for good news following an MRI today, but we all know what is coming: torn ligaments, best case scenario out until the Wild Card round of the playoffs. That won't happen. Jay Cutler's season ended last night, and with that the most promising stretch in my Bears lifetime. ....Really?
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 09:16 AM) Mariners outfielder Greg Halman stabbed to death, his brother is in custody Wow.. now that is f***ed up.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) I'd like to see the difference between Ben's thumb and Cutler's. In no way am I questioning Cutler's toughness meatheads. They call both injuries a broken thumb, but I wonder how truly broken one is compared to the other. A fractured bone could be different than every bone in the thumb being smashed. Depends where its broken. Jim Miller explained it perfectly on CSN. If it's toward the base.. then it's a problem. If it's more towards the tip, it'll hurt like hell, but you can still play through it. Dan Marino had his broken and just wrapped it up, and put a sling on it and played. (noone knew it was broken)
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:34 PM) To be fair, those passes were quite short, but the receivers got some decent YAC on them. Sources are saying he will need surgery. We'll know for sure tomorrow when they perform more tests. Now if that is true.. then he is gone.
  9. I dunno if he'll miss a snap. Dude is a tough mother f***er. Completed two passes after his thumb got destroyed. Hell, Ben Roethlisberger played with a broken thumb and didn't affect him that much. Unless it's so bad it needs surgery.... We'll see what happens when it all becomes official.
  10. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) Romine is hardly a top tier catching prospect. He's more of an average regular if things pan out. Still somewhat valuable though. I know you agree with me on this as far as their system, but IMO, he is the most overrated prospect in the Yankees system, and top 5 in the minors. I don't mind the deal however since the sox are rebuilding.
  11. Anyone ever seen a professional hockey player miss an empty net from literally half a foot away? Almost, if not as bad as Stefan's goof against the Oilers.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) AWESOME!! I love that little guy. Now I anticipate Saad showing up next. Even though he's playing against somewhat weak competition Saad has 18 points in 8 games. 9 goals 9 assists. He's been injured for a while. I doubt he even sniffs Chicago till next season.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 08:29 AM) Hilarious Bill Simmons dunk video! Whats sad is his dunk video is still better than what most people have seen in an NBA dunk contest since Vince Carter. (and a few of Dwight Howards, minus the props)
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 10:40 PM) So, we all agree that wite sucks? He isn't even on my top 5 funny drunk posters list, so absolutely.
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 09:51 AM) You're still waiting for that to happen? It's gonna happen Herbert.
  16. I actually prefer Buehrle to stay more-so than Konerko when he was in his process, so it's hard to really gauge a value with my head instead of with my heart. If this somehow helps future stud Danks resigns... thanks for everything Mark.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 07:47 AM) My freshman year of college we all called my roommate "The Philosopher" when he was drunk. I swear his IQ actually went up 20 points when he had been drinking. One of my closest friends is the same way. It's amazing the things he says, and it makes crazy sense/is true.

    How we rank

If anyone cares/is interested to know, that other sox site is the 783rd board they track, but they are 351st in posts last week.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) That goes both ways. Yes, the price tag for closers is gross. Making Santos, possibly, a lot more attractive. Look, we're not talking Craig Kimbrel here. Santos is definitely not untouchable. Addison Reed is the future closer of this team anyway. But Santos is an arb guy so it doesn't hurt to keep him for a while unless some team(s) offers a solid prospect(s) for him.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) Luongo has a minor injury, so it's Scheneider in net tomorrow. That sucks.. big time.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 10:41 AM) The physical skills, probably not. But there is no doubt about the mental side of playing QB. With as many guys as we see with the physical tools still wash out, there is big value in actually being able to develop them before throwing them to the wolves. Couldn't have said it any better myself.
  22. Luck is going to be a beast learning from Peyton. Even Rodgers himself said digesting that playbook and learning from Favre on tendencies of the QB position on the field helped his development. In fact.. I'd argue he was one year over ready. His accuracy is just incredible.
  23. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 04:59 AM) Hitting up Chi-Town for a few days probably also. You still down to get the party crackin when you get here Andy? I just bought the party hat. And just came back from Vegas. Other than only being there for 3 days it was just outstanding. Never forget what I did there (well accept the first night where I blacked out).
