2011-12 White Sox off season catch all thread
SoxAce replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My god.. this might be one of the most boring off-seasons I can remember since posting here. I mean just garbage. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 12:31 PM) Watch the Darth Vader vs. Hitler. It's better. Meh.. the flow wasn't nearly as good. And Vader crushed him, so it wasn't as close.

Who had the best NFL Rookie season of All-Time?
SoxAce replied to SOXOBAMA's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Sayers rookie year is criminally underrated looking at his stats. He literally did it all. Rushing, receiving, KR & PR and scored a TD in ALL of them his rookie year. Hell, he even threw a TD pass. Marino and Sayers are neck and neck for me. Marino was amazing no doubt. You just don't put up those kind of numbers for a rookie QB, and he did it with very few games played. It's very close with those two IMO. (I'll say Marino now, though I could wake up tomorrow and easily change my opinion to Sayers) -
QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) I read his wiki page out of boredom today. Interesting. So did I. Really interesting stuff I didn't know about him. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 04:37 PM) My grandma had ALS. Thus, my respect for Stephen Hawking grows 10 fold. He's really amazing as a human. Here's him rapping vs. Albert Einstein That was actually not bad.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 08:42 AM) Which one of you got to clean up the barf? He did. It was his place. (I did help him out... alittle)

Me and my boy brought home 2 girls from a bar tonight. We were chillin, f***in around having a good time (me and said buddy tryin to get it in), and one throws up all over the place in the bathroom and her girl had to take her home. Ruined the whole night. Typing this with my buzz gone too.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:59 PM) The Thunder are definitely up there with the Bulls and Heat but I feel as if there is still something missing or wrong with that team and it just might be Russell Westbrook if that makes sense... If he had Rondo's brain, that team would be even more deadly. He'll flash his superior athleticism, good vision, etc. but his overall decision making with the ball/basketball I.Q. is below average for a guy with his tools. Raymond Felton had harsher words a couple days ago..

Biggie smalls... biggie smalls... biggie smalls... Happy b-day bro. :cheers

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 10:10 AM) Pffff. Only to morons who can't smell a starf***er when it's right under their nose. Listen, when the girl's argument is she "passed out" presumably from being wasted, it's hard to believe Castro would just get on top and start banging her. She was into it, and realized there's a good chance for cash. Agreed.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 10:02 AM) Predicting an NHL playoff run is next to impossible. One hot goalie and everyone is f***ed. Yes and their goalie just happens to be one of the best in the game and who won the Vezina last year (and was also unstoppable in the playoffs) and their backup is a starter on almost every team. I can't see Thomas just lose it all of a sudden. Bruins play a very disciplined team defense as well which helps too. They are going to be very hard to beat for anyone especially with the added experience. Didn't say they will repeat, but they have a good chance barring injuries, one of the best post lockout shots to do it.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 08:04 AM) MLBInsideNews Scott Swaim #Breaking: Kendrys Morales is considering retirement as he meets with Dr. In Colorado. If he gets bad news from the ankle specialist (cont) MLBInsideNews Scott Swaim ... he may retire. He doesn't want to do another surgery. This all according to a source familiar with his thinking. Just unbelievable to see one freak play in a joyful moment potentially end a guy's career like that.

My god the Bruins look unstoppable. Very good chance they can repeat, especially with their experience in the playoffs already with 95% of their cup winning team still there.

Another White Sox / Blue Jays trade on the horizon?

I think this rumor is legit. -

DirtySox is gonna cream his pants if the sox get McGuire. I know he likes him alot as a prospect. (don't mind him either though) -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 07:56 AM) But the problem for Rose in the low post is that if he gets the ball down there and tries to score from that point, stationary, he's inviting all of the 6'10 guys in the game to come in and get on him. He can maneuver around those guys when he's moving, but from a stationary position in the low post he's setting himself up to be trapped. Playing in the low post limits his speed, and his speed is his best asset It is simple basketball fundamentals Balta. Rose doesn't have to "try to score" if an opposing big is gonna double him. Pass the ball out to the open man, or swing it around and reload from the post. Speed doesn't always mean running really fast on the court. Foot work, agility etc. are beneficial to the speed aspect of the game. Rose has the special ability early on here to shoot over bigger guys with his athleticism and overall speed. Once thats gone, he'll have to find other ways to be effective at the PG position other than passing. (which I'm sure his b-ball I.Q. will improve enough to realize that)

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 10:52 AM) Kruger & Montador to IR. Andrew Shaw (C, 5th rd 2011) & Dylan Olsen (D, 1st rd 2009) called up. Carcillo suspended indefinitely until his hearing He's suspended 7 games. Starts after he is cleared (health wise) to play.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) Zambrano prediction in Miami. 17-8, 3.80 I also see him having a very good year down there. Ozzie might be the one manager who can "train him."

I hope the Bears take a serious run at Jeremy Bates for the new OC for Cutler. It's gonna be even more criminal for Cutler to learn another new offense 3 out of 4 seasons. Just destroys his development. Get him back to the West Coast offense. Cutler has praised Bates before. Tice is another one who I wouldn't mind them promoting for Cutler to still have the same offense. And we all know Tice is a guy who loves to run the ball. -
That was just an ugly game to watch as a fan of the game. But it was really good to see as a fan of the Bulls.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 08:04 AM) Have you considered doing something that is easier to maintain over the long run than Insanity? The reason I have not thought much about doing Insanity myself is because it seems so difficult that you would never want to/be able to maintain it over any decent length of time. Maybe if you did something you were more probable to stick with you'd stay closer to your goal weight? I've thought about it, but honestly do not have the time to really do anything of sort cause of this job (which I was jobless most of 2010, so I had time to run, do Insanity, eat right etc.. to get in shape) especially working night shift, 10-12 hours a day. Gonna try getting up around 2 pm today and get started before I go in to work. (as you can see... still up.. Insomnia sucks) Gotta get back to the better eating habits too, especially at my job when our breaks are so late and everyone eats past 10 pm. Morning shift would be so much easier for me, but hey I can't complain.
-
Alright I'm gotta get back in the game with this. Started lifting a few weeks ago, but injured my wrist and stopped for a couple weeks. (still sore, but gonna battle through it) Gonna start Insanity once again since I gained 40+ pounds since! (back to 195 lbs, was 150 in 2010 in October just when I started new job... yea)

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 04:24 AM) Haven't they played "I'm too sexy" before? Or whatever that song is where the singer is apparently too sexy for his shirt. You might be right. Not when I've been there, but for the people who have season tickets who have been to more games can probably chime in on that better than I can.
