  1. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 05:43 PM) Honestly, I'd claim Napoli and Fuentes. If the sox org. wasn't so attached to A.J. (and need for LH hitting), I would love Naps. He's got having a great season (not his usual walk rate, more strikeouts than usual, lower average etc..) but his power is very real and is still only 28. This is a move you make more-so next year as your replacement for A.J. (also is still arb eligible till 2013) This is the guy Tyler Flowers is projected to be, though I would love to see Tyler get a shot at the minimum as well. (might not give you average, but much better OBP. I wanna see him pick it up alittle bit down the stretch for the Knights though to be sold) With all that being said however, the Angels probably won't deal him.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) I want to be the first to call bulls***. When the hell does Kenny's stuff go public to this extent? Either the Sox are trying to force someone to claim him ahead of them, or Kenny is trying to hide who he is really after. This is not like the KW administration at all. You must have been missing sox news this season. A ton of legit reports have been reported accurately, especially with The Club show out with the office news. (I.E. Dunn/Berkman rumors or near gets, Edwin Jackson trade BEFORE it was official, etc..) As bucket has said, Rosenthal has been money with his source as well.
  3. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 03:06 PM) Im not going to search for threads but Im pretty sure the universal thought process on the board was that the high A team was going to be very good this season. Think people generally thought high of that team and to a lesser extent the AAA team of having succesful seasons. I've searched it more than once.. trust me unless they were saying it on pale hose, it wasn't the case. The AAA team more-so got the love, which I don't blame at all. (I thought they were going to be the second best) I was trying to drop this a while ago (seriously it isn't that serious) but NSS kept going, and I probably should of just brushed my shoulder off and walked away from responding.
  4. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 10:29 AM) HAHAHA I don't know them personally ..watched Brady in Spring Training, but never met Hunt. Chase spent a lot of time with Hunt in W-S though so I heard plenty of stories ...Hunt is a lot like Chase, personality wise ...so actually a fight may not be out of the question for him! lol
  5. QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 03:41 PM) You care way too much about predictions. I'm more anal about it dealing with prospects or our affiliates more-so than the sox team or other sports. But yes, wanna fight about it? (I predicted the Mariners to win the West this year... whoops)
  6. That is surprising.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) Well me, for one. And you just listed 6 other people. Don't remember you at all actually. And yes there wasn't a massive thread on it, more-so bits and pieces on certain ones. (couple on evaluation threads, couple on Ozzie Ball's bios on each affiliate, etc..)

QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 11:32 AM) Heidenreich is going up to Kannapolis after his next start in Bristol. He's not happy about it, was looking forward to only having one more start left in the season ..he says his arm hurts! Yikes. They are trying to build up his arm, but still.
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 08:10 AM) You keep saying that, but everyone else said the same thing! I've already showed a link(s) of the predictions before. Show me a link where some also predicted them before the season started and I'll start believing you, but other than OB, Dan, myself, Bolt, and a couple others, there were no other predictions.
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 12:25 AM) where in that article does it say bill simmons said he is coming back? I can't find it. I thought I was the only one that didn't notice where it said that as well.
  11. QUOTE (Bruce_Blixton @ Aug 23, 2010 -> 10:56 PM) Kannapolis is going to have a fun team to follow next season with Wilkins, Blanke, Hamme, Heidenreich, Spencer Arroyo, maybe they'll have Trayce repeat the level too. I was one of the only posters who picked W-S to be our best affiliate this season. That is my team to watch (along with the Barons) next season.
  12. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Aug 23, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) Surely not ..both of those guys are very down to earth ..Shoemaker a little on the shy side. Different note, Omogrosso is excited to be caught by Blackwood during his rehab! I was mildly kidding, but it wouldn't surprise me (the stories I've heard from guys currently in the minors or in the past, it does happen quite a bit). I'll definitely take your word for it as far as their personalities though.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 23, 2010 -> 05:41 PM) I'm a salaried individual. Unless I have a big-time project due, you can call me "tail lights" come 5pm. Ditto. With that being said, if I had major responsibilities (baby due, money owe, etc..) I wouldn't hesitate.
  14. Happy B-Day buddy!
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 23, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) lol, you have such an odd way of looking at things. Not to mention Ozzie should worry about Kenny Williams not kicking his ass. KDub is a big dude.
  16. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 23, 2010 -> 12:48 PM) Don't know. Fight! Fight! Fight!
  17. This doesn't count as a "relationship" technically, but I'll post it here anyways. One of my ex girlfriends (I think she was my second longest relationship, my first ever girlfriend in high school though) back in the day just got engaged. I gotta say after I sent my congrats to her, (still good friends) I honestly felt really bummed out (and shocked) hearing about it. No I don't need any advice on how to handle it, (I'm my own advice.. Naw but I'm usually good at handling business and personal stuff through experience, but this is actually new territory for me) but has anyone here had something similar or maybe just a bit different, but the same situation?
  18. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 07:31 PM) I say we give Dave Martinez a call. Anyone’s who spend the last few years in the same clubhouse, as Joe Maddon has to have learned something. And the stories that would come out about Sandberg/Martinez would be hysterical. Welcome to the dark side. It's only a couple of us, but glad to have you on board. I thought you were still on your Davey Johnson-type bandwagon.

    I love Tyler Saladino.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) I swear, if the Sox lose on a walkoff hit tomorrow, this site is going to crash. Naw, I think were going to see alot of posters giving up mostly or not caring anymore regardless if the Twins lose as well. No anger post except about Ozzie.
  22. QUOTE (T R U @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 01:14 PM) I don't really care, at least Flowers has the ability to draw walks.. AJs avg season is about a .320 OBP and like a .740 OPS with very little power.. I don't see any reason why Flowers couldn't match that, for dirt cheap.. Everyone already thinks hes been total dogs*** this season and he still has 20 doubles 2 triples 16 homers and a .771 ops in what most people would consider a terrible season.. This is something I would post. Outstanding post Carl.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 04:20 PM) How is this any different than the Orioles series? If we really want to look back on games that cost us, I'd go with the two heartbreaking losses to the Twins...and go from there. When you have so many games/series you can point to, then maybe it wasn't your year. Actually your right. Both these series cost us. The Twins series doesn't bother me nearly as much since they are a good team even without Justin. Teams like these though we are suppose to beat.
  24. Definitely a series we look back on and say this is what lost us the pennant race if the sox wind up losing by a game or two.
