  1. Teams talking up players from the Hawks. Sharp already getting a ton of interest and why not...
  2. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:50 PM) We get to see Portugal and Brazil tomorrow, I think we might see some goals rather than low scoring affairs. There are gonna be alot of woman waking up tomorrow to see this one... from whom I know at least.
  3. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 05:28 PM) Here's a fun article about the Royals flawed approach to Alex Gordon. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/06/...royals.html.php For the love of god.... I don't even care if its us anymore, will SOMEONE.. some organization that needs a 3B project please free this man?! It's been two years now since his injury prior, that he continues to be dicked around over there.
  4. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) Tyler hits HR 13 on the year. He has been putting on a clinic with the long ball the last 7 games.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) 6.5 for life! :headbang
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 05:08 PM) Wow, I can't believe the mods let you get away with a racist comment like this about Milton Bradley.
  7. McCutchen and Fowler are up there for me too, as well as Kershaw and I still ADORE watching King Felix.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) I disagree with you 100 percent Ditto, and I thought it was very obvious in the off-season.
  9. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 04:06 PM) Here you go... :lolhitting Corpse Ball!
  10. Just because of this, I will not say anything bad about Juan Pierre till the trade deadline. You have my word on this and it will be very hard for me as I hate him the second most on this board behind Kalapse.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 12:22 AM) I hate Boston sports for the most part. This. It's f***ing sickening to think that POS Rondo might get 2 rings.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 10:44 PM) I've been against this idea all the way, but I'm getting close to the point I don't want to think about Gordon Beckham for a while. If we had ANYBODY halfway decent I might agree, but I dunno if I want to see Omar out there every day or Nix/Omar at 2B when Teahen comes back. But I understand where you all are coming from finally. It's simply depressing to watch him bat and make out after out. And that bunt try was horrid. He had to be on his own there, I'd think. I don't know about the unwritten rules of baseball, but him getting a bunt single might have been a horses*** move there. I'm not mad at Beckham for that, just sad at his overall horse-s***tiness. I can't believe it, but I agree with this as well. (not to mention agreeing with you Greg )
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 04:55 PM) And what do you know, the Rays have seemingly been head and shoulders above everybody else all season, and here they are tied with the Yankees for first place. That's going to be some kinda race. I don't think the Rays (nor Yankees) will complain at all if they win the Wild Card. I'm still not sold on Boston, but they have been getting their s*** together too.
  14. Andruw Jones leading off... never thought I would ever see that in his career again. Thanks for the lineups flavum!
  15. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 03:51 PM) Apparently, according to Strasburg, he pissed well. Must have been a hellova piss.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 02:47 PM) Hudson's line: 6IP, 4H, 3ER, 3BB, 9K, 2HR 109 pitches. 68 strikes. Quality start. Nice outing for him. If it wasn't for Davis, his line probably looks even better.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 01:14 PM) Ryan Sweeney recently complained about how the Sox always used to try to make him change his swing. Maybe that is why Gordon Beckham has been a mental headcase because of the changes.
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 02:03 PM) Nope, not really. 3 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K John was being sarcastic, but he still has to pitch about 3-4 scoreless innings to have a solid outing. He is on pace for another 10 SO game and his peripherals have been outstanding this year (especially since his April struggles)
  19. QUOTE (3E8 @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) Flowers absolutely tore the cover off the ball in 18 April games. He didn't struggle at all offensively to start the season. After altering his swing per Greg Walker's advice in May, Flowers stated in an interview the swing change didn't work for him and went back to his old swing in June. In 9 June games thus far, Flowers has an OPS over 1.200. I have very little concern in his offensive ability. This isn't a guy who's enjoying a temporary hot streak. He's been a beast with the bat his entire professional career Yep. Flowers in April: .323/.432/.613/1.045 Flowers in May (change of swing): .122/.215/.280/.496 Flowers in June (back to old swing): .333/.429/.800/1.229 (30 ABs)
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 12:46 AM) Flowers is starting to hit the crap out of the ball in AAA again. We still should trade AJ, while the going is good. I'm with you, but I firmly believe he will still be here by Monday. Just my opinion.
  21. I would say we should create an off-season thread soon here, perhaps in the next couple of weeks when all the parting and appearances for the Hawks start dying down a bit. I would love to hear some of the views here from posters with our salary cap situation, who you would keep/trade, etc.. (Toews won the CS, which also kicks in another 1.3 mil added to the cap is worth noting too.... ouch though I know for sure noone would rather have it any other way)
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 10:06 PM) Does UZR even apply to catchers? QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 10:09 PM) Nope. They use Plus/Minus to evaluate catcher defense at this point. I was gonna say that doesn't sound right... Thought I was losing it from being a bit tired though.
