  2. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 5, 2010 -> 06:06 PM) This dude won $1M for pitching a perfect game in 2K10 It was only a matter of time.
  3. I'll be in this b**** for alittle bit/a tease tonight.
  4. "My Team" W-S currently in progress. Up 1-0 so far. Escobar so far 2-2. Justin Edwards on the bump. Charlotte is off today.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 5, 2010 -> 04:55 PM) Every 15 seconds? Isn't that a little hyperbolic? You also have to consider one factor. I'm in China now, it's 653 am here. So because I post at a totally different time, like in the morning when everyone is sleeping the US, I could see where you would have that impression. Ya I thought that was obvious, I was being sarcastic. And yes I know where your from. In fact.. I talked with you and Jason before about it. Thought it was pretty cool actually to be posting out there. We are usually very agreeable on topics. Ha, I would love to hear them from a guy who has only been here for 3 years to know my style, which usually I'm very consistent nor a "pattern poster" other than my slang at times and my grammar (though you would also be dissin the creator of this site who has the worst grammar here. ) QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 5, 2010 -> 05:38 PM) Ban me, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Why do you do that every time someone asks you why you completely change the subject? And paradigm shifts? If you want to jump all over the place with your discussions I wont command you to stay on topic, but dont get all defensive and mopey because you were asked why. He'll learn Kyyle. Give the man time. Already noticed his post today are still within the subject of his first sentence.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 5, 2010 -> 05:35 PM) What's up with characterizing something as "strange"? (From now on, I think I'll just say the opposite of what I actually believe, in an effort to be exceedingly positive and cheerleaderish....so the comments about Revere and Hicks will fit into that overall paradigm shift over time). It's also "strange" to me that the White Sox season is about to be over before it even started...I'm frustrated, because as a baseball fan, I actually wanted to be able to care about my team. It would be nice to at least hope we have meaningful games in the second half of the season. So I promise for the rest of the season not to bring up the TWINS, nor will I create a discussion about abysmal attendance in a thread (as the topic of any "new thread" here or anywhere in PHT). You can ban me for life if I do that, fine. Then you will have new posters to concern yourself with... Don't think you get it really. This isn't WSI bro. I actually don't mind the Twins/attendance talk. Hell, you are the Twins talk as fathom is to the Cubs talk. It's just your threads/posts alot of times are way off base or out there. It's like you talk about something, then all of a sudden you bring up something totally irrelevant to your own post/thread. Instead of making threads every 15 seconds hijacking a board length and making mods/admins work to delete/lock/etc.. threads, just post it on a catch-all thread or something. That's all I'm saying.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ May 5, 2010 -> 04:51 PM) Calling him dumb while you have "should of" in the same sentence is ironic. I'll use green font next time in the first sentence, as I love JD. And please spare me the grammar police crap.
  8. QUOTE (DGSOXFan14 @ May 5, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) Dye OK With Heavy DH Role Saw this online today, just thought id share it. Thoughts? His dumb ass should of said this months ago. Would have gotten paid pretty decently with another team by now.
  9. I'm still convinced they pick up a closer by the deadline personally. Rauch would make an excellent set-up man though, unless he does have a Nathan-like year which I don't see happening. You know it's still early when a guy like Billy Wagner (who is retiring after this season) might be available if the deadline started tonight, rather than Heath Bell for the Twins.
  10. He's the only "old" guy I love watching on this team, this season. That's for sure.
  11. If you can't be tolerable when you have Ken Griffey Jr. (especially) and Sweeney in your clubhouse, then you really are nuts. Can't even defend the guy.
  12. QUOTE (sircaffey @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:23 PM) Starlin Castro watch: AA - 101 AB, .356/.407/.545 Still not sold on him, but man has he improved his walk rate. Might be one of the rare times a Cubs prospect proves me wrong, but we'll see when he hits AAA and the bigs also.
  13. Brouwer has not been the same since his uncle got real ill and it is showing in his play. He is not even playing good as a 4th liner.
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 5, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) How the heck is it May 5th and we still have Kotsay and Vizquel on the roster? I'd rather have some young guys up then have these guys around. Even though he's a future utility player anyways, I'd rather see Retherford still get regular playing time and not hit .230 than to be call him up.
  15. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 5, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) Pierre DH Beckahm 2B Jones LF Konerko 1B Rios CF Pierzynski C Quentin RF Teahen 3B Ramirez SS He's struggling so much, Kalapse can't even spell his name right. Rios is in the 5th spot ladies and gentleman.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Even so, some people's schadenfeude when it comes to the Cubs is pretty absurd. Your face is absurd.
  17. He's walked 4 times the last 2 games. Even if he's still not hitting to his standards (hitting at .250 those two games) I'll take him getting on base like that anyday.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ May 5, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) A couple examples of teams overcoming a deficit doesn't mean much now. What's happening now, pretty much means the Twins are a good team and the Sox are a bad team. Like I said, they need to get red hot right now. Not to mention those teams were just seriously underachieving, but had very good offenses, just the pitching finally came around. I know our pitching will come around, just don't know about our offense. (we don't have a Biggio/Sizemore type lead-off man nor a great DH even with Jones' hot start, though he plays about 4 times a week, etc..)
  19. Seriously caulfield, was this thread necessary? You don't have to create a new thread every 15 seconds asking questions about minor leaguers. Just ask them in the catch-all thread or in the game threads they play in or something. Getting kind of ridiculous. Same for Pale Hose threads on firing guys and finding replacements on a tough loss. Good to ask, but don't need them every 15 seconds.
  20. This kid reminds me of my weird little brother.
  21. QUOTE (The Critic @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:32 AM) I wonder if they give Osgood a start in Game 4 out of sentimentality, because they are not coming back from this. I would personally. Howard has been terrible this series. Barring a MAJOR choke job by the Sharks (still wouldn't put it past them) Hawks (or Canucks) will be playing them in the WCF (and if it's the Hawks I really like our chances as they usually match-up well against the Sharks, more-so than the Canucks) I'm sure the Sharks are pulling for the Canucks as they usually own them when they played.
  22. Am I the only one thats shocked that Detroit is down 0-3 to the Sharks?
  23. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing that Sam friggin Smith agrees with me. BTW wasn't Ron Adams the one that Joakim had a run-in with? If so, then I wouldn't want him even if he is a tough, defensive coach.
  24. I like Collins, but I doubt he'll be back after JR didn't want to hire him to potentially ruin a patched friendship down the line. Ultimately I would like a D'Antoni-type coach who runs an up-tempo style (to optimize Rose's potential), but is a good defensive mind too. One guy who intrigues me everyday who is not on Sam's list and I believe will be a wonderful pick up is Maurice Cheeks (in fact.. he's probably #1 on my list now, as he was like #5 a week or so ago) Makes perfect sense for Rose and I think he can develop him pretty damn well. Got this from another site. Credentials: - Coached Portland and Philly to the playoffs - Former All-Star PG - Former NBA Champion - Former 1st Team All Defense Selection - Runs an up-tempo offense, while stressing team defense - Chicago Native - Current Asst. for OKC (look at what he is doing for Westbrook) And of course he's known for helping that young girl with the National Anthem when she got cold feet. Real good guy. Regardless, there will always be people complaining about different coaches cause of their weaknesses. There are no Jackson/Sloan/Pop/Adeleman etc.. type coaches out there. I'm just personally feelin Cheeks who in my opinion, makes the most sense out of anyone the Bulls can interview. Assuming no Collins or JVG, I'll say Cheeks-Thibodeau-Corbin/Shaw-Scott-Mitchell is my personal top five list, though Scott moves up or down on my list everyday cause of his work with Kidd and especially CP3 who just loves the guy.
