QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ May 13, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) Jacksonville 4 Barons 0 Barons could do little Billingsly and the troubling thing was Chad wasn't at the top of his game by means with only his fastball working for him tonight he hit 100 3 times tonight. Chris Stewart had 2 hits tonight and turned on 2 Billingsly fastball's Meanwhile Lubisich was on his game as well giving up 7 hits in 7 innings he made only one bad pitch and that was a hanging curve to Tydus Meadows that was deposited over the LF wall. B.J. LaMura pitched like he trusted his stuff tonight in the 8th inning he threw a 0-1 curve to Joel Guzman that dropped in for a called strike then blew him away with a 96 Fastball chin high. Then in the 9th to face Brian Sprout he got 2 swings and misses on fastballs then dropped in a great curve for Strike 3 called. Both Owens and Young's hit streaks are over. Corwin Malone on the mound tomorrow. I hope you guys enjoy the write ups I try and put in as much info as I can give. You do a fantastic job.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 14, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) Well done Willie....and a great swing by Uribe there. It was imperative we get some early runs against Cabrera to knock down his confidence level that he surely had coming into tonight. Good point. He's 23 years old. -

QUOTE(fathom @ May 14, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) True, but someone said that the guy had an Orioles jacket on. Is that true? A Bears jacket. -
QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 14, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) Please forgive me for waxing the philosophical a bit Sox Talk friends, but here goes: I just want to sit back and suck it all in. The Sox setting records for winning games; How the Sox win games; leading the majors in wins; Jon Garland with the best Sox pitching record for starting a season since Joel Horlen; Good publicity for the Sox; FUN; The fact Frank Thomas will be back and the Sox can only get better in the hitting department; I have been a Sox fan since just a kid back in 1959, and I am having fun right along with the Sox. I appreciate the opportunity to share these thoughts and just talk baseball with all you Sox Talk posters. On to October... Beautiful sentiments. If waiting a long time sweetens a championship season, then you can wrap me in mothballs and cover me with hulla hoops and slinkys. I'm ready.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ May 14, 2005 -> 01:46 AM) Cabrera is a beast 98 mph fastball at 6 foot 7. He shut out the Twins for 8 innings on 3 hits his last time out. This game and tomorrow's against Bedard should be a couple of real tough tests. We may need more small/smart ball than any of our previous 2005 games. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 14, 2005 -> 02:24 AM) You named your cat after a power saw? Nice try, but the power saw people got it wrong and called themselve Makitia.

Wow - not good. -
QUOTE(JimH @ May 12, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) LOL, you should get another cat and call it Scooter. Mikita, Ken Wharram, and Ab McDonald ... what a line. Mikita, Ken Wharram, and Doug Mohns ... the later version of the Scooter Line. Agreed. They could really move the puck. And Scooter is a great cat name.

Charlotte is coming to Ottawa next Tuesday (17th) to Friday(20th). If Frank comes I will make a point of checking him out and reporting. As it is, I hope to see McCarthy pitch. My guess is he will be on the mound on Friday.

QUOTE(JimH @ May 12, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) Can he split the defencemen and slip in a nifty backhander on Rogie Vahon? I'm not sure about that. But he is very shifty, has great paw/eye coordination and for his lack of stature, takes crap from no-one.

When you are faced with an important high school exam the next morning, but you stay awake until 1:30 AM with a transistor radio under your pillow in hopes of hearing Bill Melton hit a 4th homer during a west coast game. And, oh yea ... to YASNY and southsider2k5 - I've got a siamese cat named Mikita.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 11, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) Hopefully he wont be pissed if he can't finish.. Ryan is in. I guess you would know better than most how he would feel. If I understand from my lurking, you have rubbed shoulders with him, so to speak. A victory over Santana looks good on his resume if you ask me.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ May 11, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) Yea he has.. but I kinda hope they leave him in. It's been an awfully long bottom of the 8th, so you gotta think Sid is done. Even though he is a bull.

QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ May 11, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) I love the fact that Twinks are going to lose this game a lot based on the fact that Rincon isnt there! Ahh steroids, f*** you Rincon Their starters were going so good for a while, it looked like they might breeze through his suspension unscathed. You're right, looks good on them today.
-
7-4 now. And you're welcome.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ May 11, 2005 -> 05:42 PM) Pitch count..? 95.
-
Your significant other looks you in the eye and accusingly suggests that you love the White Sox more than you love her ........................ and you can't argue with her.
-
5-4 Orioles. Runners on the corners with nobody out in the 8th.
-
Tejada on 2nd, nobody out in the bottom of the 8th, as the lead run. Please....please.....please.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 11, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) Yea!! Is Sidney still in? Yes he is and he just put down Babe Morneau, Hunter and Jones in order in the top of the 6th. He has kept his pitch count down quite nicely. Less than 75 pitches. -

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 11, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) Made all that much better when he follows Orlando. I wonder who made that decision? :rolly edit : This was supposed to be a follow-up to the following comment: QUOTE(fathom @ May 11, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) Great job Cliff! By far the best fastball on our team. -

QUOTE(Steff @ May 11, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) How's Sidney doing..? 6 hits in 4 innings, but predictably some of the hits were bunched and Ponson made a bonehead throw in the middle of the mess - result was a 3 run 3rd. Worse part of the story is the way Santana has fine tuned his magical changing of speeds. :sleep
