i don't know how anyone can say we won't win this game. we have 3 innings against the pirates bullpen... we can still get this.

what about micheal young at short, i always hate when he is at bat, and if i recall he has pretty decent glove too.

the only thing i have seen is a side note from elias in the game recap on espn. it says iguchi is the sixth player in the last 25 years to hit homeruns in the 8th and 9th of a game that went to extra innings. it doesn't list the other players or games, so i can't check the box score. i would have to think that the odds of them being a 3 run homer and a grand slam are low though.

i really like the ground ball/fly ball ratio. i don't care what league your in, if your a grounball pitcher in the nl your a groundball pitcher in the al. with the good infield defense of the sox i think he could be a good pick up. i'm not convinced that pollite is a better option.

the worst part is i find myself using these more and more in my daily life. at least a half dozen of those i've probably said today, and it is even worse when watching a game.

and how about iguchi coming up with some big hits... good to see him coming through
