  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 1, 2011 -> 10:04 AM) http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=6170055 I love the "ALEXI!!!" comment by the anchor.
  3. My wife's cousin's husband just posted on facebook he is "in Madison helping keep the peace". He's a police officer.
  4. My place of employment was CLOSED last Monday (Presidents Day), an employee came in to work (despite us being closed) and slipped in our parking lot. She is now filling workers comp. Can she do that since we were closed and there is a reasonable assumption people would not comming in to work, therefor parts of the walk ways may not have been salted.
  5. DailyHerald.com - I would LOVE to see a Sox minor league affiliate here, but I know that wont happen.
  6. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 08:28 AM) Lovie officially signed a 2 year extension today. On a positive note: Lovie and jerry's contracts both expire after the 2013 season... the end is coming close!
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) @FakeJoeCowley - @chrisbosh looks like a lost puppy, except he is not cute and you don't want to bring him home.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) This has fail written all over it. In less than a week he will leave office. Book it. He's REALLY screwed now.
  9. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 11:17 AM) What would the rollbacks mean? NBA pays the remainder of the salary and the team cuts the player? all contracts are modified and the player makes less money. Lebron is scheduled to make $16,022,500 next year. A rollback of 5% (for example) would decrease his salary to $15,221,375 (net loss of $801,125)
  10. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 11:00 AM) http://hoopshype.com/salaries/miami.htm But if there is a hard cap in the new CBA (which many think is possible), they will be royally F'd. They will still likely be able to keep the big three, but will have to have minimum-salaried players filling out their roster. So likely no first-round picks could fit, no Mike Miller, Haslems, etc. I just looked at the Lakers salary situation, WOW! If a hard cap was put in below $80m they are really screwed. Quick update (from Feb 20th): The NBA is pushing to implement a hard salary cap that could also include rollbacks on current contracts. The rollbacks would help implement a hard cap easier and faster
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 10:53 AM) strong owners and weak union means that owners are going to get basically what they want when the CBA is redone. It's reportedly one of the reasons the Bulls don't want to add any significant payroll before tomorrow, they're hoping to get a real good player when the hard cap is instituted and a team needs to shed a salary. Do you have a link to where I can see current cap data? I remember being told on here that the cap would probably be high enough as to not require the Heat to shed one of the "big three", but what other teams would be impacted?
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 10:45 AM) I really think the NBA is going to have an extended lockout, it seems like there are going to be huge philosophical differences between the owners and players that aren't going to be easy to solve. The way things are going with "player collusion" and consolidation of talent are HUGE issues for the long term health of the league. What teams should be be looking out for as the next "destination" city? I assume we'll see a lot of talent try to go to the Lakers, and to replace the aging Celtics. Top talents has NO interest in playing for Minnesota, the Clippers, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Detroit, or Charlotte.
  13. @cnnbrk - CNN projects former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm #Emanuel has won the Chicago mayoral election, avoiding runoff
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 20, 2011 -> 08:37 PM) So glad doc rivers pulled rose almost immediately to get his Celtic out there. I blame the yellow shoes
  15. Quick tax question: If my wife were to live in one state (Iowa) but work via remote desktop for a company in another state (Illinois), which state does she pay income tax in?
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) Food Poisoning, most likely. yea I thought that, but everyone in my family (wife, mom,. daughter, sister, me) has had it at different times in the last week.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 18, 2011 -> 03:36 PM) I'm just going to leave this to everyone's imagination... lol, I do understand your point though.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 18, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) Well, considering 99% of couples have premarital sex (with one another) these days, the wedding night is not quite what it used to be in that regard. not us. well, define sex. lol
  19. QUOTE (IChaseBlackWood @ Feb 18, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) For SLEEPING .... I used the bed for sleeping!!! After I got married, people would ask "how was the wedding night"? *nudge wink* My response: "She relaxed in the hot tub, and I watched Sports Center" It was a long day, we were exhausted!
  20. Damn, there's a lot of 1st round picks being thrown around these days (Anthony, Lebron, Bosh). 4 picks is a hell of a lot. I believe you can not trade 1st round picks in back to back years, so that's 1st rounders in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017
  21. In the last week I have had two different people contact me from the University of Iowa about job openings. I have an over the phone interview scheduled for next Wednesday for one of them. I wanted to do it in person, but my schedule doesnt allow me to get out of town for the next week and they wanted to get the interview in by Wednesday. The other position is currently contacting my references and I expect a call for an interview in the next week. Very exciting
