  1. I think the "people lie to pollsters"thing is a load of crap. People either answer the questions honestly, or hang up. A persons time is too valuable to sit around and waste their time messing with a pollster.
  2. QUOTE (Soxy @ Oct 8, 2008 -> 01:16 PM) It was just a slip. oh I know. just a very random one. what was he thinking that got him to say prisoners instead of Americans?
  3. This may be the oddest comment form McCain yet: "Across this country, this is the agenda i have set before my fellow prisoners and the same standards of clarity and candor must now be applied to my opponent." American's are now POWs?
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 8, 2008 -> 09:46 AM)
  5. McCain Says Obama Asked for Money for an "Overhead Projector"... Right Idea, Wrong Name I'm going to take a guess and it wasnt an "overhead projector" that Obama was asking for. Just to modernize an aging theater. Oh the horror! I'd rather have a new projection system at Adler than do seal DNA research in Alaska.
  6. Interesting Note: CNN is reporting that McCain quickly left the room after the debate, but Obama stuck around for quite a while to talk with voters.
  7. CNN Poll of Those Who Watched the Debate (Dem 38%, Rep 31%, Other 31%): Who Did the Best Job in The Debate? Obama - 54 McCain - 30 Obama's Favorable Rating Went Up 4% to 64% McCain Favorable Stayed at 51% Who Would Better Handle Iraq? Obama - 51 McCain - 47 Who Can Better Handle Terrorism? McCain - 51 Obama - 46 Who Can better Handle The Economy? Obama - 59 McCain - 37 Who Can Better Handle a Financical Crisis? Obama - 57 McCain - 36 Who Is the Stronger Leader? Obama - 54 McCain - 43 WOW!!! That should scare the s*** out of the McCain Campaign. Who is More Likable? Obama - 65 McCain - 28 Who Did the Best job in the Debate (Independents Only)? Obama - 54 McCain - 28
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) I think they shook hands while getting in the way of the teleprompter at the end. Seems like a bit of a snub.
  9. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 08:50 PM) Both of their basic answers to questions were the standard BS, but I'd give it to Obama for jumping in and taking issue with McCain when he felt misrepresented on taxes, Pakistan, etc. yea, he basically said "screw the format" when he saw that McCain was slandering him.
  10. CBS Uncommitted Voters Poll Who Won The Debate?: Obama - 39 McCain - 27 Tie - 35 On all the other questions, Obama SOARED compared to the same question before the debate. McCain had VERY modest increases.
  11. I thought I heard this, but wasnt sure: At around the 10:08 mark, John McCain calls General David Petraeus the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He actually heads up U.S. Central Command.
  12. The belief was that McCain needed to change the game tonight. He did not. Not good for him.
  13. No Ayers. No Keating 5. Good to see
  14. McCain walking in from of the teleprompter was pretty funny.
  15. Discus. Post Debate Polls to come
  16. McCain actually had the best answer on the Yes/No Russia question. It's not a yes or no question. THere's a lot int he midle there. Brokaw has SUCKED as a moderator.
  17. What he just asked wasnt a Yes or No question.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 08:16 PM) What is that thing on CNN? What's it mean? They have some kind of detector hooked up to all the uncommitted voters in Ohio? LOL! It's a focus groups with +/- potentiometers. If they like what they hear, they go up. If they dislike it, they go down. The graph is a running average.
  19. Projection: Post debate Polls.... Obama 50, McCain 25, Tie 25
  20. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 08:12 PM) When exactly did he say, I won't get Bin Laden if we know where he is. He said we need to work and make allies with pakistan and work witht hem to get Bin Laden. If you know exactly here Bin Laden is, you cant wait to set up a combined effort to get him.
