QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 2, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) Can someone just change the thread title to Dan Bernstein Love/Hate so I can stop clicking it!? I actually was just about to change topics.

I take back my statement a little. I was looking Revolution's ratings that didnt include DVR/delayed viewing. If you factor those in, they've been pretty good. Around 10 million views each week, but declining.
-
This weeks Revolution was pretty solid. Ratings are still falling, but they were renewed for a second season??

I had a nice Twitter conversation last night with a few now former B&B listeners who just cant tolerate Bernsteain anymore. I'm glad to see there are more than a few who have grown tired of his tolling act

QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 10:21 AM) Yes, he will bash anyone for ratings. His actions are no different than Broussard's. Taking extreme stands for ratings. Although I do admit at times like these I listen to Bernstein to see how he makes a fool of himself, so the ratings ploy works. I like the part where he insited that homosexuality must be genetic and people have no choice. What about his twin brother? or the WNBA player who came out then changed her mind and married a man. Bernstein has a gay twin brother???? Ok, and I'd actually like to have a discussion about "born gay" (i do believe there is a difference between "born" and "choice"), but maybe at a later date when this Collins story isnt hot in the news and things calm down a bit. I have a few questions based in basic ignorance on the topic.

The national media is finally starting to see Rose like locals are. and it's not good for his image.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 03:34 PM) Your fear of being seen as anti-gay shows how f***ed up this country is. Clearly homophobia is rampant if you feel compelled to not express your thoughts on this story. It's more that i dont want to be accidentally seen as someone I am not. I am not a very articulate person. Not just with regards to this, but other conversations as well. It's more of a fear of accidentally being mislabeled. -

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 03:26 PM) I think whether anyone is gay or not, there is an expectation that we don't just stare at each other in a group shower. You can shower together without violating each other, whether the motivation for looking is sexual, curiosity, or whatever else. I agree with this. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) I don't think it's a matter of whether or not some kind of assault would occur. If you were (uninvited) in a room full of naked women, most, if not all of the women would feel violated to some degree that you were getting some enjoyment out of seeing them naked. As straight men, we understand that, and somehow that understanding translates to straight men feeling violated that gay men might be getting some enjoyment out of seeing us naked. I think it's dumb, but I understand where that connection comes from. Ok, i admit my analogy probably wasnt the best. I'd probably be best for me to shutup for a while. I'm not having a good thought articulation day. lol -

QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 03:10 PM) Yeah that's a weird one. I don't get it. Even if you do get hit on, I don't understand why some guys get all hot and bothered by it. To me it's just, "I'm flattered, but I don't swing that way." It's an easier let down than for an unattractive woman! Are you kidding me? I'd be honored if a gay man thought I was attractive. Lord knows most women dont think i am. lol -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 02:56 PM) Why do guys assume that gays are automatically attracted to them? I mean you know every girl isnt already, but you assume some gay guy will be in to you? yea, I;'ve NEVER liked that stance on why athletes should be in the closet. And even if you DID find someone attractive, that doesnt mean you are going to sexually assult them. If I was in a room with a bunch of naked women (oh how lovely THAT would be), I might like what i see, but I am not going to go around sexually assaulting them! -
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 03:06 PM) I'm of Christian faith and have no problem with homosexuality despite what the bible might say. The part that really rubbed e wrong is when he invoked Westboro. That comparison just doesnt work. Like I said, would he say "if you believe in Allah, then you are clearly a terrorist?" Of course he'd never say that. but because someone might believe homosexuality, you are clearly like Westboro.
-
I will say this. I'll probably shy away from this debate. I know I am not as articulate about ideas as i should be, and i worry I'll come across wrong. I dont want to be seen as anti-gay or homophobic. I just have a hard time articulating the separation between religious and cultural beliefs.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 02:58 PM) well then he deserves the backlash he gets from guys like Bernstein...once you open that door, you have to face what comes through it. Chris Broussard strikes me as a guy who'd be ok with a debate and not hide away. Not that he's confrontational, just firm in his beliefs. Some are afraid to really speak their mind because they know they'll be shouted down.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) I don't want this to turn into a big religious debate...you have every right to believe whatever you choose to...but why does he have to use his position to make this statement? Why do we care what Chris Broussard's personal religious beliefs are? because it makes for great ratings
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 02:48 PM) Chris Broussard saying Collins is living in sin and rebelling against God. Oh brother. see, this is where the opposition (people like Bernstein) takes things to an extreme. Just because you believe that doesnt mean you HATE the person. I believe homosexuality is a biblical sin. but the bible says to LOVE your neighbor as you love yourself. I'll love any gay person as a human being. But, when we all die, God will judge. Maybe I am wrong. I'll leave that up to god. Does believing being gay is a sin make you a bigot? I believe that depends on your actions and I'd never treat a gay person any differently than a straight or bi person.
-
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) Exactly. I actually agree with Bernstein on this issue, but the way he sells his point is always over the top and arrogant. agree in what regard? I am not trying to egg you into a pro/anti-homosexuality debate. i just want to make sure I understand what you are saying.
-
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) Yeah, that was a pathetic argument by Berstein. now, the caller was not prepared to have an educated debate. but, they wouldn't allow an educated debater on air, because they might actually challenge him. They make sure to put through the easy to pick on people. But, Bernstein invoking Westboro was sooooo pathetic.
