QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 09:49 AM) CHICAGO (CBS) ― A second earthquake struck southern Illinois today, following a earlier temblor this morning. Both were felt throughout Chicago. The second quake measured 4.5 magnitude and hit at 10:14 a.m. The first one, with a magnitude of 5.2 struck early Friday, around 4:30 a.m. There were no injuries or structural damage reported in Northern Illinois, but many people were curious and even panicked. I never felt the second one and I was awake for it.

QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 05:23 AM) I kind of wish I felt this; I slept straight through it. oddly, me too. I think it would be cool to feel and earthquake. I just want to be in one that causes my house to fall in on me. A nice little earth shaker would be fun though! lol damn, i slept through it!

Made me remember why I supported both him and Obama. He was great. Oh, and Obama put "political distractions" on notice!

QUOTE (Soxy @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 07:16 PM) Ah, I see. Missouri Synod. I don't think the ELCA has a similar view on the pope. I have no idea. I dont really care. i think he is a great man.

QUOTE (Soxy @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 01:44 PM) I must have missed that day in Theology class. It's not a, well, commonly known thing and I think if you asked most Lutherans they would disagree. Hell, i didnt even know he was the "anti-Christ" until my wife, who was raised methodist, was reading up on the lutheran faith before becoming a member of my church and she told me! And I am a life long Lutheran. Went to Lutheran school preschool-8th grade and work at a Lutheran church. Here is the link: http://www.lcms.org/pages/internal.asp?NavID=12503

Take this for what it is worth: On Hardball a few moments ago the head of the democratic primary in Penn, who is a Clinton supporter, was asked "predict the outcome". He skirted it and said "if we win by a single vote it's a resounding win given all the money used against us." Hmmm... lowering the expectations?

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 01:09 PM) I'd give up Fields for him with no hesitation if we also have a resigned Crede. I like Fields being DH/1B next season. Roberts would be nice, but i really like this lineup as it is. Swisher is doing an amazing job at leadoff. Not his "ideal" spot, but he's doing great. -
If we all band together, we might be able to put a down payment of say... $100,000 for them. Let's go for it!

Obama on the Debate:
-
Anyone else notice Hillary Clinton makes a lot of promises that cost money? Now, to be fair Obama has made some proposals. But every group she gets up in front of, she panders to the group by saying "i'll give you a tax credit for this. Or. I'll start this $100 billion program, or I'll spend money on this". That's a hell of a lot of money if she REALLY plans on putting all of them in place.

Oh Cubs fans would be PISSED! -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 12:29 PM) I'm not interested in entertaining the tax debate until people start seriously addressing controlling spending. To his credit, McCain does. Obama supports a moratorium on "ear marks" in 2009 so they can spend time working on reforming the ear mark system.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) Obama: Prominent Clinton PA Supporters Switching Sides Today the original news story was inaccurate. Not "prominent Pennsylvania supporters" as Stephanopoulos (yes, HIM again) originally reported. Just 3 plain voters.

For those of you who saw the debate and Gibbson's attacks on Obama over raising the capital gains tax, thought this was interesting. Apparently Gibbson didnt do enough research... http://www.gototheboard.com/articles/The_C..._Than_You_Think
