Ken Rosenthal just said on the Fox pregame show that the Sox might be interested in Miguel Tejada. Personally: no thanks. He's a great player, but do we really need him?

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 05:02 PM) As long as it doesn't go out (or too far out) in the water. Northerly Island has some awesome carp fishing! Well, the version i mocked up uses the current Northernly Island with no additional space needed. Heck, there is even room for parkspace near the planetarium. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 05:15 PM) i like the stadium we already have I do too. BUt it doesnt hurt to plan for the future. This was only an idea. Heck, the Cubs could use it for all i care. But I'd prefer the Sox

This link is to Diig.com because the stroies link seems to be down. But this seems pretty interesting... Solar Energy I'm liking the idea of leveling all of Vermont to create a single source for energy. Ok, in all seriousness, several smaller plants stationed all over the US would sure be sweet!

The Scores draft show just said that Paxson is still working the phones. Could be working on more deals. Stay tuned! -
Interesting thing to notE: His stats havent fallen off in the last few years. Pretty stable. Only a few less home runs. but nothing massive. his RBIs and Runs Score were lower than usual, but it might have just been because Baltimore was bad last year.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) Have you ever played internationally? I lived in europe for a summer playing club ball when I was younger. It amazed me how much they used injuries to their advantage. I recall one of the spanish teams we faced used what I call the "miracle bucket." Their players would roll around screaming in pain. The coach/trainer would come on to the field, dip a sponge in the water, put the sponge on the injured area, and the guy would be in perfect health. It was amazing. As an american I was so used to playing through injuries and hacks, I just wasnt use to the theatrics. Oh I dont doubt that at all. Doesn't mean it's any less right. Just cheap and petty in my opinion. -
Thomas as a coach...yea, he's done a great job at everything he's done since he retired from Detroit.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 10:47 AM) Please give some yellow cards/susspensions for faking injuries. I agree. All the fake falls, fake injuries, and acting is so rediculous. I hope America never stoops to internation soccer level. Stick with basketball, baseball, and American football. Leave soccer to the rest of the world. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 10:47 AM) Ghana are a bunch of pansies. PimPong: "Oh no, I hurt my tummy! Get a stretcher!" -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 07:26 AM) The money is impressive, but misleading. He only gets it if he sticks out all 5 years. Most of the money is at the very end of the contract. If he leaves the Cubs for football, he ends up being paid like a typical 2nd or 3rd rounder from the sounds of it. Based on his potential, he'll be a 1st rounder in the NFL draft next year. I dont think he'll pass that up.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 10:58 AM) I should be able to dish out heat to the white sox, but they shouldnt be able to dish it back to me. If you'll notice the Sox really dont have a problem with any other reporters. Just him. Why? Because he skews news against the sox and spins it against them whole other reporters and columnists teend to be more even and balanced. I loved in his interview where he talked about hos last fall he heaped praise on KW, Ozzie, and the White Sox. Well, what do you expect? If he even TRIED to put an anti-sox spin on the World Series, he would lose whatever credibility he has left.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) Ozzie is immature, as is Marriotti. There's a long line of athletes that don't like Marriotti. Every franchise in this town hates him. I really doubt there any athletes or executives of professional teams in this town that even remotely like him. He seems to me like a person who would rather create news than report on it.
-
QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 10:54 AM) The sad thing about this is it's just what Mariotti wants. Now he gets more attention and gets to play this for all it's worth. I wish everyone would just ignore him and he could just disappear for lack of interest. That show on the Score wont ignore it because they work with him! Great press for the paper!
