QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) We're going to get some minis and hook them up with iSight firewire camera systems and wire the campus of the oceanographic institution I work for with them for webcam type applications. That is really sweet! I assume you guys already researched looking into some sort of a video server that you could conect all the cameras up to then send those out?

QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) Mac Mini - 499 dollars new. the problem is I dont have a monitor. So, that's $100. And since I have never owned a Mac i need the keyboard and mouse. That's another $100. I would want to upgrade the memory and the drive to a CD/DVD burner. Over all, it would top out at around $1000. Not to mention that I would only have one USB port available, so I would have to buy a USB hub for all my USB stuff. The price addes up very quickly.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) Depends on what I'm using it for. Work = Linux, Home = Windows, Multimedia = Mac. THe problem I have with the Mac is that it's hard to find a cheap one. Through places like Dell and Gateway, you can get a nice system for around $1000. To get a nice system, you have to spend at least $1500-2000 unless you go witht he eMac. When I get married in August I want to buy us a nice computer for wherever we live (my laptop is slowly dying). I am thinking of converting over to Mac, but cant find one for around $1000.

I am not asking which format you currently use at home/work. I am asking which you prefer to use if given a chance to use either.

Sox Iguchi ad in today's Sun Times

I like how is nickname #2 is "TBD by Hawk". that's classic. I dont care for the way Hawk has to give everyone a nickname, but it does fit what has gone on in the past. -
ANy team that gives ANY player a 7 year deal are fools. THere are so many things that can happen in a 7 year stretch (injury, salary cap, decline in production). If I am a team and a client demands a 7 year deal, it is a 4 or 5 year deal with team options for the remaining years of the contract.

As much as I hate to actually say this, it may actually help if they merged. Right now, people are torn as to which service to choose. FOr example, I would want the NFL AND MLB stuff, but since they are on competing companies I have to choose one. If all sports were available on service, I would prefer that one. WIth that being said, i would much rather see all sports available on BOTH and then let the consumer choose and let the free market take hold

The best part about the story behind that picture is this.... We posed that picture and my fiancée snapped the picture. Soon there after the dog woke up and shook of the hat and party favor. Then when it struck midnight, the dog owner came over, picked up the party favor and blow into it. I didn’t have the heart to tell him it had been in the dog's mouth.

QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 09:55 AM) "Rover was fine until he saw that Regis was hosting instead of Dick Clark. That's when the drinking really started." LMAO! THat is hysterical

QUOTE(Goldmember @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) on a side note: i heard chelios on the radio the other day and he said something like the players and owners have made a lot of fans angry... thank you mr. obvious... NO! Really? The NHL was dead in Chicago BEFORE the strike. I doubt it will come back any time this decade.

Maybe it is just me, but I would like more than 6 people on the team who can speak fluent english. -
QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 05:43 AM) Money isn't going to matter. I doubt someone is waiting until the reward is "worth it" to turn him in. I pretty much agree. I think everyone can be bought. But, I just think it is a sad comentary on our society.

MIke and Mike are reporting that both sides are sitting down today and there is a pretty good chance that the lockout may end. We have heard this a 1000 times before, so take it for what it's worth.

that's what you get for taking the historic baseball. lol

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) I said this in a different thread, but the old bounty for Osama's head was less than the Yankees' luxury tax. I weap

Leno just made an interesting, yet very sad point in his monologue this evening. President Bush is about to raise the reward for Osama to $50 million..... which is ruffly the same amount than the Marlins just shelled out for Carlos Delgado. So, we are paying our professional athletes more than the hunt for an international TERRORIST!

I am sure most of us saw/heard Anna Benson on Howrd Sterna few months ago. But, she is on CNBC right now and what a major differance. She looks and sounds dignified.

I have an interesting take on this. (Let the record show that I am 100% against abortion.) If these clinics don’t think a fetus is alive and therefore is not a "human" then why should they have to dispose of it in a way that represents it as having been an important creature. Why would you burry something that was never alive? We throw weeds in the trash. Isn’t that what clinics are basically calling an aborted baby.... an unwanted weed.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) lol hawk is going to miss saying peapod If we signed Iguchi just to get ride of Willie to STOP hawk from saying that, the signing is well worth its price. -
The Score's losing to ESPN AM 1000 in the ratings:

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) Care to add anything athomeboy? I'd love to hear about your experience. I am a radio-tv guy looking for an internship and would appreciate the story. thanks Ya know, there are a lot of plus and minuses about the Score. Unfortunately, a lot of my opinions are based on stuff that is either off the record or it is not my place to be saying things about. By making my earlier comment about North I have already said too much. Being at the Score, I did learn a lot. I was never treated badly and was given a lot of responsibilities. It was where I wanted to intern and I dont regret it. Here is my run down of the Score personalities…. Murph- Never met him, but didn’t hear glowing reviews Boers and Bersie – Same off the air as on it. Take that as you wish. I liked them Buffone- GREAT guy. Was always really nice to me. North- While he was nice to me, I never really felt “wanted”. Most of North’s past interns were “his guys”. So, I was an outsider. Hence why “Jen Jen The Engine” Paterson now works for mike. She was one of “his guys” (I could say more, but it’s off the record) JHood- What a genuinely nice guy. Probably the nicest guy at the Score. Telender- He joined after my internship was over. -
QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) I just can't take that "...you might be a redneck" garbage, that's why Foxworthy is so low on my scale. He actually doesnt do any of that in "Rides Again"
