Well, typically the larger markets can afford the best players, hence why they end up there. Plus, sports leagues understand that it is good for the sport if its biggest names are in the biggest cities. With that being said though, if a team like the Brewers were winning and had the ability to have a $100 million payroll, A-Rod might be there instead. So, market size only makes a differance when there isnt much small market compitation.

I think that given the Sox current pitching situation, Mark wouldnt be traded for quiet some time unless the Yankees made an unbelievable offer, Mark starts to fall off, or SEVERAL of the Sox young minor leagures go beyond expectations and make Mark dispencible.

Can’t a man escape from the world for a few days by going to Iowa without missing a huge weekend in baseball? SHHEESH! I was driving back from with my fiancée from her parent’s house today and I HAD to turn on the Score because I needed to get caught up with the weekend in sports. I was kind of isolated from the world while I was out there and hadn’t heard much all weekend. When I turned on The Score, the first thing I heard was a sports updating saying that the A-Rod to NY was done. My jaw hit the floor and all I could say was “What? Where did this come from?” Can someone get me caught up on what has happened since Friday night? Apperently I missed a lot.

One of the great things about MVP will the abilty to "unlock" old time baseball players, and the ability to play in older stadiums (Polo Grounds, Sportsman Park, and Tiger Stadium to name a few)

I went through a period of time where I was able to realize I was dreaming. More often than not, i didnt do anything. i was just ablt to wake myslef up if the dream went where I didnt want to go. BUT, one time i remeber that i was dreaming that there was a woman laying in my bed. She wasnt the girl I wanted, so I blinked and thought of someone else (i dont remember who). WHen i opened my eyes in the dream, she changed. It was nice

I dont know if I can do that. I think there are a ton of parks that are better at least from a viewers prospective. I have only been to one ballpark outside of CHicago and that was Coors Field in Colorado. I would rate that one higher than U.S. Cellular. It is GORGEOUS. My top 10 would be (in no particulat order): Ballpark in Arlington, Camden Yards, Jacobs Field, Coors Field, SBC Park(San Francisco, CA), PNC Park, Minute Maid Park, Kauffman Stadium... well, you know what... now that I think about it, U.S. Cellualr is in the top 10. All these field that I listed have a combination of great facility and overall ballpark looks. The ones I havent listed lack one of BOTH. So, yea. U.S. Cellular would be in the top 10.
