I have verison and I love it to death. Few dropped calls and great clearity.
  6. I can hear the thoughts in Rowands head now... "I hope I dont lose the starting job again. I hope I dont lose the starting job again. I hope I dont lose the starting job again."
  7. "Is this Heaven?" "No, It's Iowa." I love that quote because my Fiancee is from Iowa and it really is nice out there. Nothing much to do, but very relaxing.
  8. "JUUUUUST A BIT OUT SIDE!"
  9. What scares me is that the current bid is $90,000,100.00
  10. I think the league could servive if they put a cap at $90 million and a floor at $45 million. Most teams fall between $90 and $50 million. By nature, not allowing teams like the Yankees and Red Sox from spending over $90 million, their players that they cant afford would trickle down to lower teams, there for making the league more even. On top of that, if MLB implimented an NFL like profit sharring scheme, then the teams in smaller marketss that legitimatly may not be able to afford higher priced players could now afford better players. In the end, everyone benifits. If the MLBPA thinks a cap will "Drive down" salaries, i really believe they would be wrong. All that would happen is that players would be playing for differant teams, but still at the same price. Right now, the Yankees, Dodgers, Boston, and Atlanta would be over the "Cap". Their players would just be playing in differant areas. Consevably, they would be making the exact smae amount.
  11. What ever happened to that kid anyways? There were all these rumors that once he turned 16 a team would sign him
  12. Hey Mario! I totally missed you when you responded to one of my first posts. Sorry about that. As for a show, my original goal was to get an on-air show next year in the fall, however I think I am going to change my aim. I am currently taking the Sports Play-by-Play class and I really love it. So, I am hoping that next year I can do the UIC games that WCRX is broacasting. (We have a few selesct games that we get to broadcast with help from students at UIC) I knew a few guys who did it last year and they liked it, so I am going to give that avenue a try. If that doesnt turn up, than I am going to persue a show. Just as a side note, I am hoping to intern at The Score over the summer, so that might help me out more than hosting a show. Personally, I am doing great. I got engaged in August, so I am really happy. (Planning a wedding for August of '05) I figured it would be better to get married after I graduate in the spring of '05. Other than that, my life is crazy. If I am not at school, I am at work out out with friends, so I try to get out of town one weekend every other month just to unwind.
  13. Hey I know Mario. Well, Kind of. We had a class together a year ago, but I havent seen him around the radio department recently, so I have kind of lost track of him. He is a really cool kid. Him and I used to stand iin the hall during break and talk White Sox.
  14. Just thought I would let you know, every Tuesday Iam doing sports updates at Columbia Colleges radio station, WCRX. I am on from 3:30-5:40. You can hear me at the top and bottom of every hour. You can tune into 88.1 FM if you are near the loop, or go to http://www.wcrx.net/ and listen in. We are streaming over the internet. I hope you tune in and enjoy.
  15. No no no. If the team were to switch leagues, i think it would have to enter as an expansion team. I dont think it would carry its current players with it.
  16. Unfortunetly, if Wirtz DOESNT sell the team, you will continue to love what they USED to stand for and not what they CURRENTLY stand for.
  17. With the impending NHL lockout that could last up to 2 years (according to some rumors), this is a prime time for the Wolves to step up and steal the Hawks fans. They could take this opportunity to promote the living day lights out of themselves and become a major factor in the hockey landscape in Chicago. If this NHL lock-out forces the Hawks to make some major changes, the Hawks could step right into the NHL and compete with the Hawks and with the way the owners of the Hawks carry themselves, they would win a competition war. Just my thoughts. What do you think?
  18. Honestly, if after this upcoming lockout the Hawks fold, would anyone care? I wouldnt.
  19. Purhaps Something Like This?? The sad thing is that all I had to do was take Gammons picture from ESPN.com and overlay it over Jackson. THAT is how well it fit.
  20. When i saw the auction on E-bay I got to thinking of something I saw in a Chicago Tribune Magazine that I saved a while back. I went looking fot it and found it. The guys name is Steve Wolf (he is a graphic artist from Buffalo Grove) and that is not his only other creation. He did a model of Wrigley Field which he sold to Murphy's Bleachers and he was finishing a model of Fenway at the time of the article. It took him over 4 years to finish the Wrogley Fiel model.
  21. I am not against him going to the Cubs, I am just saying I dont like 2 of the 3 reasons being thrown out there as to why he should come. There is one, and one reason only as to why he should play for the Cubs, he makes them better.
  22. I have a huge issue with how Cubs fans and the Chicago press are rooting for the return of Greg Maddux to the Chicago Cubs. There are 3 reasons I hear as to why he should come back, and 2 of those I have a serious issue with. The First one I have issue with is that Greg should come back because it would be really great for him to come back and end his career with the team he started with. Why does this matter? Why is it so important hat he has to return to a team he hasn’t played for in over 10 years just because it is the team he started with? The second one I have a problem with is how everyone thinks it would be GREAT if he came back to the Cubs to get his 300th victory. That would be all well and good if Maddux had won 299 games with the Cubs. That would be a nice acievment for him. However, lets not forget, that of his current 289 victories, 194 were with the braves and only 95 were with the Cubs. Why is it SO important that he has to come back to get his 300th win? 194 of them weren’t even with the Cubs! In fact, 11 were AGAINST the Cubs!
  23. I thought I heard that he would wear 33. He cant wear 3 because Babe wore it, but 3 is available.
