  1. I went though 1986-1989 as a Sox fan. This is nothing.
  2. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jul 23, 2007 -> 10:57 PM) Wikipedia is on crack, Barker had been hosting the Price is Right since 1972. No, they're not. I used selective editing.
  3. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 23, 2007 -> 11:05 PM) There is an episode of Press Your Luck where this math whiz comes on and can't lose. He actually figured out the timing/pattern for whammies. It was posted on the internet somewhere at one time, but I have no recollection where. I'm guessing youtube.
  4. Wink Martindale was always Tic Tac Dough to me. Damn that dragon.
  5. I miss Scrabble, Sale of the Century, Card Sharks, Password, $25,000 Pyramid, Joker's Wild, Tic Tac Dough, etc.
  6. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 23, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) No matter what, Carey is doomed to fail. I think he will be fine, but he is going to be compared to the incomparable Bob Barker in a job that has only had one employee: Bob Barker. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Price_is_Right Wrong-o.
  7. He's a funny guy. Just never had much luck with game shows. One of the other "Whose Line Is It..." guys mighta been better.

Meet the Robinsons was charming I guess. The book was probably a lot better though.
  9. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jul 23, 2007 -> 02:22 PM) I honestly believe the outfield next year will be Pods, Rowand and Dye with Erstad, Sweeney, Owens and Anderson in the mix along with a Trot Nixon type of FA. I believe Crede if healthy, will be traded and Iguchi resigned. Richar will get a shot with Cintron to be the shortstop along with a cheaper Uribe. There will be maybe a couple of $2/$3M guys signed for the pen. As for the rotation if anyone will take Contreras they get him for an average MLB player. If Garland will get an all-star in return, he will be moved. KW will try daily to get Carl Crawford. I'd like to believe in World Peace too, but I'm skeptical.
  10. QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 23, 2007 -> 12:49 PM) Vaz looks like he's finally coming into his old form again. This is exactly why you trade him now.
  11. Garland would be a 20 game winner in Dodger Stadium. Ala' Brad Penny.

    Bash.org

Yeah the OOTP sim guys have been there at minimum 2 1/2 years.
  13. Jon Garland is not an average pitcher. Shall I drag the stats out now or later to prove my point?
  14. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 22, 2007 -> 06:56 PM) I could. Hokd on foniks werkd fer me Yuo mane, "Hkoode on pohinsc wrosk fro me".
  15. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 22, 2007 -> 12:34 PM) Lets give Heads a break hes from Iowa. He thinks Iowa State homecoming is the equivelent of the super bowl. Not as big as the corn-pone tossing contest down at the Dyersville Hog Calling Festival this August. Heads has his own booth selling deep fried corn on a stick there.
  16. I don't see a reason for this thread at all now that we have spoiler covering-up with the new board.
  17. It's hard to believe that he has a WS ring and Thome doesn't.

Soooo.. I got lazy and read the synopsis on wikipedia just now.
  19. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 11:26 PM) And good luck resigning Buehrle to a fair 4-year deal. In this market, that's an oxy moron. I just felt like bumping this quote.
  20. QUOTE(joeynach @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 02:12 PM) Cant we all just agree good riddance to Dye. The only positive of him this year has been that he was only making 6 Mil. I like what Dye did for us, but its time to move on. The white sox need to abandon the sort of lethargic slugger mentality. As much we all love Thome and Konerko they clog the bases and while its ok to have a couple guys like that you need to surround them with speed. The white sox need a new RF (as well as LF and CF) and frankly Dye is simply and ailing and aging outfielder who fits that lethargic slugger mode. Its about the time the sox bring in some big bats that dont clog the bases and have some speed. OF's like Eric Byrnes, Torii Hunter, Carlos Beltran, and even Aaron Rowand. These are the OF the white sox I believe are looking for, Ryan Sweeney also fits this bill. Dont be surprised to see your OF next year or Byrnes, Rowand, and Sweeney with Owens on the bench. So while we all admire what Dye did here its time to move on and I dont think anyone should really be surprised. Does not compute.
