Amazing comeback win!! The way the game started I thought we would be down by 10 or more. This team better tighten up the D though. Overall this win was huge and hopefully it will deflate the Tiggers a little. -

Uribe-Cora Trade Not Happening By Tim Dierkes [July 24 at 8:48pm CST] 8:48pm: Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe says the Red Sox backed away from a potential Uribe deal, opting to stick with Cora as Jed Lowrie's backup. Like said above...funny how its Boston who backed away considering they were getting the better player in the deal.

Brad Biggs reported on the Score this morning that Hester is in camp now.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 10:11 PM) Why are people talking about trading Contreras? The only chance he gets traded is after the deadline during the waiver period. He won't be included in any deal until he shows he actually can throw the ball. Its wishful thinking....

Think the Mets might be interested in Jose? Minaya loves Jose IIRC.

454.000 IIRC

Source: Casey Pearce, Chargers.com The Chargers Wednesday released veteran WR Eric Parker. After six seasons with the team, Parker missed the second half of 2007 with a lingering foot injury, and became expendable in large part after the team acquired WR Chris Chambers in a midseason trade last year. -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 05:09 PM) Should start with 2 firsts and a 3rd, at an absolute minimum. I'm talking about a really, really one-sided trade here where the other team thinks they scored big. I doubt they would get that much for him. He is a prolific kick returner but a bad WR....I'd be happy as hell if they could but I would find it very unlikely.
-
I bet the Bears could get a 1st and 3rd for him....esp. with a team like Wash. If its a deal like that then hell go for it. IMO
-
No chance we could get him though..... Jays Quietly Discussing Halladay? By Tim Dierkes [July 24 at 11:24am CST] According to Dan Graziano of the Newark Star-Ledger: Roy Halladay is apparently unhappy in Toronto and has let management know it, and management has apparently responded by doing some quiet surveying of teams (such as St. Louis and the Dodgers) that are far, far away from the AL East in an effort to see what it could get for the 2003 Cy Young Award winner. Apparently, the returns other teams are getting for top-talent pitchers such as CC Sabathia, Rich Harden and Erik Bedard has inspired the Blue Jays to at least find out what it could get for one of the best pitchers in the American League. It remains unlikely that they'd deal him, but you never know. Halladay has been ridiculously good this year, and he is signed through 2010 at a below-market rate. Doc is the face of the franchise, though, and if anything the Jays might try to extend him further.

I actually want to see how Bennett and Monk will do. Another guy I wish the Bears would really give a good shot to is Hass.
