  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 4, 2012 -> 10:12 PM) Thats how its going to be, if the Bulls kept it close in game two they would've gotten those calls too, but they didnt. Gotta go out and win game 4. It had zero to do with bulls*** "athleticism" or any of that crap. Hard fought game, calls down the stretch at home. Stop whining about the refs all the time. s*** is tired and played out. Take that crybaby s*** to the lame college thread. The Sixers have guys who can put the ball on the floor and make s*** happen. They were the more aggressive team in the 4th quarter.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 4, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) They could just use Derrick Rose. Obviously. I'm just saying. You look at the Miami series last year. You look at some of their losses this year: Grizzlies, Nuggets, Thunder. All track teams. I agree here. Popovich was brilliant in how he was able to get through this season with his team physically unscathed.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) Yep, I would have been so much more upset if they blew a lead like this with Rose still active. You watch this game, and it wasn't like it was one when the Bulls were winning that you thought "heck yes, they're back on track and going to blow through the rest of the playoffs". They need more play-makers and a little bit more athleticism. They more than compensate against most teams because of their size. But these track teams always give them fits.
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 4, 2012 -> 09:51 PM) Horrible execution, bad coaching. Nobody really stepped up late in the game. Plus, why didn't Watson play at all in the 4th? JL3 did nothing but dribble out the shot clock and take horrible shots. It's just reality. You don't win in this league without stars. The Bulls have no go-to guy. Nobody that can create something out of nothing. This isn't the Pistons or Wizards in February. Philly is a very energetic, long and athletic defensive team. The Bulls don't do that well with those types even with Rose.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2012 -> 04:57 PM) So next year's rotation is Danks, Humber, Axelrod, Stewart and Santiago/Molina Look out Texas/Tampa. We're coming.
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 4, 2012 -> 10:32 AM) ARE YOU SERIOUS STEVE? J4L in the post above said that the Knicks are the best team in the East after the Heat. I called him out on it, because it derives from a previous argument where I said that people were overlooking the Pacers. What is your deal? You didn't call me out on anything. I never said the Knicks were the 2nd best team in the east right now. The Pacers could very well be better than the Knicks. And you know what? The Heat could still sweep them because they're much better than the Pacers.
  7. Kevin Durant is just beautiful. I honestly think (health withstanding) he can can eventually break the record for most consecutive scoring titles.
  8. The Mavs have aged about 10 years in the last 10 months. Lakers/Thunder will be epic.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2012 -> 08:53 PM) Did you count Dunns 2010 after his 2011? Or his 2009, 2008, 2007 2006... I still don't understand where you're coming from. You're insinuating that because Soriano blew 3 or 4 saves last year that he couldn't handle the role this year, despite the fact that he was one of the top 3 or 4 closers in all of baseball two years ago. This isn't Matt Thornton.
  10. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 3, 2012 -> 09:39 PM) So what, J4L is trying to insinuate that the Knicks are the toughest test, saying it wont get harder down the road. The Pacers will put up a better fight than the Knicks, they may not win but the Knicks arent Miamis toughest test in the East. ok, so maybe the Pacers could give them a "hard fought" 5 or 6 game series? So what? Who can actually beat them? Gonna have to wait until the finals to find out.
  11. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 3, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) I'm a bit surprised how easily they are taking care of NY to be honest. They'll be tougher challengers up the road for Miami but the way LBJ is playing, he's gonna be tough to beat...oh and Miami's D is the best in the NBA playoffs right now. Really? Pacers? Hawks? Is there any non-disney made for TV scenario in which they don't get to the finals? I was thinking maybe Boston. But they need a no-doubt-about-it 100% Ray Allen to pull that off.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 3, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) The Heat played like s*** tonight. New York just plain sucks. It's their defense. That's what's most impressive. The offense is going to come and go. But if you don't have a good perimeter shooting team (Dallas last year), you're just not going to score a sufficient amount of points consistently.
  13. Well, I thought NY/Miami would be competitive. The Heat have officially flipped the switch.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2012 -> 08:29 PM) Soriano was a disaster last year as a closer. Plus we have seen what happens when guys get moved out of their roles in the pen Do Soriano's 45 saves in 2010 not count for anything?
  15. QUOTE (kev211 @ May 2, 2012 -> 11:41 PM) I've always loved Weaver. How many no-hitters/perfect games is that since 2010? Gotta be around 10 (not including Armando Gallaraga's). It's still a big accomplishment whenever somebody pulls it off. But it definitely isn't what it once was. Back-2-back no hitters should be the new OMG standard.
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 2, 2012 -> 12:03 PM) Well Steve the 76ers shot considerably higher than their average, sure some of it was fast breaks, but overall they were just really hot. At the time I posted that it was still in the first half and it seemed as if the 76ers would cool down and the Bulls would start to take over (they did go into the half leading), after the half, the Bulls just got blitzed in the 3rd (happened against the 76ers on Feb 2 as well) and the 76ers just refused to cool down. It was merely a comment at the time of the game. Most NBA teams will lose if the other team shoots close to 60%. And now we know, and knowing is half the battle.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 1, 2012 -> 10:12 PM) Yes it is, J4L. They played the exact same way last season when Carmelo came to the Knicks. Melo and Amare just do not work well together, their games offset each other, and it drags their numbers down. Everyone got all worked up about Lin, and what happened? He came back to earth and the Knicks went right back to being the .500 team that they have been since Melo has been there. It is a huge combination of players that simply do not know how to work together. Whatever, man. This board just cracks me up. It's not even that I give a s*** about what anybody thinks. But it just goes to show you that around these parts, if you're wrong, you're going to hear about it. When you're right, well, it was a fluke or something. Nobody will even say well "at least he was right about Tyson." The Knicks are worlds better than they were last year defensively. This reminds me of when Marty was the only one who said Sergio Santos needs to go if KW can get a good haul back. Marty was dismissed by everybody. Three weeks later Santos is gone. lol.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 1, 2012 -> 10:10 PM) So does Kenny get a pass cause no one would have expected Dunn and Rios to be the two worse players in baseball? Not being an ass, just asking. Either way, that is long gone...lets focus on whats going on now. Dunn? Yes. Rios? No. But fine. I'll let it go. Though I do deserve some credit for Tyson. Nobody has any problems letting me know when I'm wrong. I said Tyson was elite. Nobody agreed with me. Now he's the DPOY. Whatever.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 1, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) Hey, I told you personally I wouldn't bring that post up with you again and would not razz you for it again, so don't drag me into your arguments with others. I'm done with it, you made a prediction, it is what it is. I don't care about getting razzed for it. It was not about that and you know why I got pissed. I'm just saying looking back, I wasn't really that far off. There's no way anybody could've foreseen Carmelo being so bad for 40 games and Amare being so bad all year.
  20. The Rockies knew something was up with Ubaldo. Gotta give them props for pouncing while they still could.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 1, 2012 -> 09:46 PM) No you were mocked because you said he made the Knicks not only elite, but better than the Bulls. I'm pretty sure anyone who watched the Mavs spoil the finals for you last season knew that Tyson Chandler does one thing and one thing only, play defense. But then again, who could have predicted any of this???????? Wrong again. I said they had a case for second best team after the Heat. I never said they were definitively better than the Bulls. And what do you mean spoil the finals for me? lol. Oh yeah, my Heat, baby. I love them. Please. And Zoom, Kyyle, etc, were in here saying that I was overrating Chandler and that he wasn't that good.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 1, 2012 -> 09:38 PM) Nope, they couldnt have been. They are a team that barely made the playoffs and had to fire their coach during the season. They were never going to be elite. Its time to abandon that horrific prediction. Yes, because anybody could've predicted two of the premier players in basketball simultaneously having the worst years of their careers. I said before the season that Tyson was an elite defensive big. I was mocked. I at least get that now.
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 1, 2012 -> 09:34 PM) No, they were never going to be elite. A 7th seed isnt a few breaks away from being elite. In this s***ty conference? If Amare/Melo play like Amare/Melo, they could've been. That's not even talking injuries. Anyway, Congrats to Tyson. He's improved so much in the last couple years.
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 1, 2012 -> 09:33 PM) If our defense keeps playing like this they'll continue shooting over 50%. What did they have, 20 fast break dunks? That's a pretty high percentage shot. Evan Turner has changed everything for them. His scoring/playmaking is something that coming in you weren't really concerned about.
  25. Oh, and I've just learned Tyson Chandler has won DPOY. Yes, I was wrong about the Knicks overall. But I had solid reasoning for thinking they could be elite. Tyson was one of them. If Carmelo doesn't shoot 38% for nearly 40 games, and if Amare doesn't have easily the worst year of his career, I could've very well been right.
