  1. Nope, Nope, Nope. And I'm sure Kyle is going to come in here and get on me for talking in absolutes. But NOBODY was watching those teams consistently. I won't say every night. It would be damn near impossible to watch EVERY game of any season. But I don't want to hear it. The Bulls from 99 to I think it was '05 ( or what year was it that they made the playoffs under Skiles the first time?). They were Charlotte Bobcats bad. Oh my goodness. I still remember when Corey Bengamin and Khalid El-Amin got starts. You all are liars. The truth will set you free.
  2. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 02:26 PM) J4L is right about something, the Bulls were hugely popular worldwide while they were killing and then nobody but the most hardcore fans followed them after MJ, Pip, Rodman and Jackson left. I was pissed at the way the Bulls organization broke up that team and Krause was eager to rebuild starting with Floyd (ugh)...I honestly ignored them until the Kirk, Ben Gordon, Nocioni era out of anger and because they sucked. Thank you for your honesty.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) Dude, you are all over the place trying to save face. One post after saying you "simply forgot [the Bulls] existed" you backtrack. You're a bandwagoner. lol. No, just honest. But it's easy to pretend you watched all 82 games in 2002. Afterall, it can't be proven that you didn't.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) Dude, they've been doing some sort of cheap ass food giveaway as long as I can remember if the Bulls win and score over 100 points. It used to be for free tacos. Last year Scalabrine missed a 3 that would have put the Bulls at 100 and publicly apologized (jokingly) and then bought Big Macs for fans the next day at a local McDonald's. I find it unacceptable that you would not know these things. I knew for certain it was multiple times during the season. No, I didn't realize it was for every home game. When did free Big Mac night for every home game in which the Bulls score 100 and win start? QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 02:14 PM) Absolutely no one does this. It just gets ignored because the Bulls end up winning most times. But that's a problem come May. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) I absolutely did not forget about them. I followed the Bulls through every painful season following the dynasty. From Kukoc as team star, to Brent Barry, to f***ing E-Rob, to Elton Brand/Ron Artest draft, to f***ing giving Elton Brand away for a raw Tyson (still upset, not that it would have mattered), to the rise of the Jim Paxson era where Skiles was leading Kirk, BG, Deng version 1.0, Tyson, Curry, etc and they finally made the playoffs again... Now to this. I can appreciate this (and not be completely pessimistic) about the Bulls because I lived the bad years. What's happening now with Derrick Rose is so much f***ing fun. I guess someone who only shows up when the team is good would have reason to yawn at what the Bulls are doing now and consistently rip on the fact that the built overnight Heat are the best team in the NBA. Nope. Sorry. I'm dismissing this and anybody who says this. Soxtalk has evolved considerably since 2003. But this thread would be on par with the WNBA thread activity wise if the Bulls were that bad.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 02:00 PM) Like EVERY other Bulls fan? When they were the pits, they were still selling out the UC or had one of the highest attendances in the NBA. I watched and complained about them every year. Ron Mercer, ugh. I didn't say anything about the UC selling out. Basketball will always be a monster in Chicago. You still had the championship aura, MJ statue, the championship banners, etc. I'm talking about watching the games on the tube every night. I'm sorry. I don't buy it. I'm not saying you or anybody else never watched a game or tuned in every now and then. Ron Artest was one of my favorite players at the time and I loved watching him play. But sorry. Nobody was watching those historically bad teams every night.
  6. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 01:27 PM) I sometimes think he was a bigger fan of Jordan than an actual Bulls fan. No. Like EVERY other Bulls fans in the world, when the dynasty broke up and they went to winning 20 games a season, I simply forgot about them. I didn't jump on the Shaq/Kobe bandwagon or anything. But I'm not going to pretend (and you or anybody else here shouldn't either) that I was sitting in front of the TV watching those Elton Brand-led, Floyd/Cartwright coached teams every night. They had a couple good seasons with Hinrich/Gordon/Deng/etc then quickly reverted back to irrelevance. They inexplicably won the lottery in '08, hired thibs two years ago and here they are. I'm still getting used to them being a factor again. I don't think the organization has done anything amazing. If they hadn't won the lottery, they'd be exactly where they were in '08.
  7. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 01:13 PM) Exactly my point. Free big mac night is every night in which the Bulls scores over 100 points. I thought an average Bulls fans who goes to the game or watches the game would know about it. But you are the ultimate case of the grass is always greener on the other side. Maybe I do not read every single post on here, but I almost never hear any optimism from you about the Bulls. Oh yea, the Knicks will be as good as the Bulls right? And we all know the Heat is a better team than the Bulls on paper, but we believe the team can hang with Heat given a certain condition. Your attitude of there is no way in hell the Bulls could beat the Heat is not a typical attitude of a loyal fan. Every night? Well damn. I guess I'm less of a fan. When did this start? I went to a Raptors/Bulls game last April and they scored well over 100 points and I didn't get s***. Unless I was too drunk and just walked out without getting my coupon. I don't pay any attention at all to Bulls' promotions. And I know for certain that they have to win AND score 100 when they do this. Yawn@ the grass is greener crap. I'm just objective. And enough with the Knicks. Jesus f***ing Christ. How many times do I have to say that I was WRONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG to think the Knicks were on par (never said they were better) than the Bulls. I said this like 6 weeks ago.
  8. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 12:45 PM) This, and your constant jabs at the team makes me question how much you follow the team, and how loyal of a a fan you are. Let's see. I didn't watch the game (shame on me for missing the juggernaut Hornets) and I'm still supposed to know that last night was free Big Mac night? I'll concede that I was slow and should've put two and two together, as Big Macs was referenced by Steve prior to Duke's post, but I didn't. OH THE f*** WELL. And get out of here with me being less of a Bulls fan. No, I don't want to orgasm every time Derrick Rose's humility is brought up. No, I don't pretend that Carlos Boozer at $15 million a year having to come out of close games for defensive purposes is ok. No, I'm not going to make Luol Deng more than he is (a very good roleplayer and more of a third option on a championship contending team, or the fact that I'd personally escort his ass to midway if it meant Dwight Howard coming back) because he's a Bull. No, I'm not going to pretend that the Bulls are on par with the Heat and Thunder talent wise just because, um, just because. The Bulls are a very good team with more than a legitimate chance at winning it all. Do I think they can beat the Heat and Thunder 8 combined times in May/June? Nope. Doesn't mean I won't hope for it.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) Morel sucks. I wouldn't go that far - yet. Morel's September was enough to at least cling to hope that he could possibly become a passable everyday 3B. This isn't like Brian Anderson. He showed nothing, ever.
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 11:10 AM) You clearly didn't get the joke. The Bulls had 99 points with 4 seconds left and Rose missed two 3-pointers, thus screwing 20k in attendance out of free Big Macs. I see. Didn't watch the game and had no clue about any free Big Macs. And I know the Bulls have been involved with opening fitness centers and attempting to get fat kids off the video games and internet and into the gym. So yeah, that one totally flew over my head.
  11. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 09:33 PM) Derrick Rose's commitment to fighting obesity in the United States is awe-inspiring. Um, is this supposed to be in green?
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 03:26 PM) I kinda go both ways with this. Part of me says it's great that Rose is so serious. The other part of me says, learn to relax and have some fun. I'm not sure when the All-Star game became so serious. First this nonsense about Lebron not wanting to take the final shot in an exhibition game, and now Rose thinking it's dumb to dance during an entertainment-centered introduction. In the grand scheme none of this means anything. If the Bulls lose again they lose, regardless of how serious Rose takes it or how showey-offey Lebron and Wade are. I mean, I can totally get behind the message that Lebron continues to underachieve because he doesn't take things as seriously as a guy like Rose. But at the end of the day it's going to be about talent and skills, not who works harder. Oh my goodness. We agree. But anything is better than reading about Jeremy Lin.
  13. If Chris Sale, Addison Reed, and Dayan Viciedo live up to their potential, I will be satisfied for 2012. Those are three elite talents that by themselves could put the White Sox on the map to relevance again.
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 01:39 PM) Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm.... lol. I think 2k5 is married, though.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 12:19 PM) Any good team is already punting turnovers. My main worry was Lin looking like a grade schooler against the Heat. I know that. I'm just saying the turnover category is the only stat that will be influenced in this travesty of a transaction.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 12:18 PM) Instead of showing up to the park at gametime, you have to spend an extra hour or two somewhere before the game where you will probably spend more than the $25 parking cost anyway. Not only do you spend more than $25, but you also have to invest an extra hour or two than originally planned. Bingo. There's one guaranteed way to save money before you get to the park. That's public transportation and your feet. I guess that's two.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 10:48 AM) I was happy to swap Lin for Ty Lawson in our fantasy league. I got a consistent contributor for a guy I think is going to be all over the place the rest of the year. Awful trade. Lin/Wesbrook on the same team? That's good for about 50 turnovers a week.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 10:33 AM) That article was awful and all over the place. "the whole idea is moot, but the Bulls should do it!" "Didn't Dwight and Rose look good on the court together? THey could totally take on LeBron and Wade" (who were ALSO ON THE COURT) Moronic drivel to result in web page hits and ad revenue. That is all. There is no Jeremy Lin mention in the article. That alone makes it decent.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 09:53 AM) Miami has to win something before you crown them in the Bulls of the 90's category. Yeah, because that's exactly what I did. The Heat could lose in the finals the next five years. This is about the Bulls and their ability to take out Miami as currently constructed.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 09:37 AM) By nailed it, I assume you mean "pretended that Orlando would be thrilled to take on a S*** F*** of money long-term". It's quite obvious a s*** contract like Hedo would be part of the package. I was more or less talking about him referencing all the wannabes from the 90's that came up short because of Michael. Miami is going to be in the way for a while. I'm not saying the Bulls are a wannabe - yet. But another conference finals loss to the Heat and it's going to start looking like that.
  21. http://dailyherald.com/article/20120226/sports/702269784/ I know this is redundant now. But who cares. Imrem nailed it. Do it.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 07:29 PM) Right, on top of 92 quarters. 100 quarters to see an overpriced game and consume overpriced crap for a bad team. You're going to go far with your fiduciary vision. Then you weren't going anyway when it was $23. They've been mediocre to bad 4 of the last 5 years. For the regulars that still go, you're not going to stop going because of a $2.00 spike (which wasn't the White Sox's doing) in parking. I'm sorry. I know there's nothing going on right now. But this seems like a "I just need something to b**** about" thread.
  23. Badger and his lame ass lawyer bulls*** again.
  24. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 03:28 PM) Bosh. Put Dwight at center and it will be the best man defensive team in recent all star memories Not really. But yeah, I see what you're getting at.
  25. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) Yup, LBJ didn't go to college... Nice!
