  1. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) With the shortage of big men on the East roster, I wonder if Thibs would put a all Bulls Heat roster out there Rose Wade Deng Lebron Bosh It would be a hell of a lineup to watch. Somebody in that group just doesn't belong.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) Ryan Zimmerman signs six year, $100 mil extension, signed through 2019. $16.7 mil average salary, 2nd highest behind A-Rod for 3Bs Guess Anthony Rendon is going to have to learn a new position.
  3. Way too much over-analysis going on here. It's 8 quarters. Get over it.
  4. $2.00!? The horror! GMAB.
  5. Hizzle, when you get a chance, can you post each team's keepers? I want to know who's going to be available.
  6. Zoom, when you get a chance, can you post each team's keepers? I want to know who's going to be available.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 05:36 PM) They're good. They're not unbeatable, however. FAR from it. The Knicks defense is nothing compared to the Bulls defense. Doubling might work against Lin but Rose isn't going to have the same turnovers and if they do double, he's athletic enough to get around it or move the ball. The Heat play good defense. Awesome, so do the Bulls. I didn't see an invincible team beat the Knicks. The fact that the Knicks hung around that long anyway says a lot. The Heat are easy to beat (in theory). Control the glass, especially their offensive boards, don't let them run, and limit your turnovers. First of all, they didn't double Lin. Chalmers and Cole took him straight up. Then LeBron and Bosh were the flash guys when they tried to run that futile pick n roll that worked against the Raptors. Second, the Heat don't play good defense. They play GREAT defense. The Bulls are really good, too. But there's system defense and then there's the Heat. They play early 90's doberman Bulls defense. Their quickness and athleticism is unparalleled. If you think the Bulls can beat the Heat, fine. I don't have an issue with that. But I don't see how anything that happened last night would have you thinking, "yeah, now I know the Bulls can beat the Heat."
  8. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 05:17 PM) Just being a back up PG would be a major accomplishment when you take into consideration he wasn't even offered a scholarship and went undrafted. Backup PGs don't get the cover of SI twice in three weeks. It's too late now. He has to be a star. Or else he'll just be looked at as that asian guy that played well for a little while. Don't mean to be blunt. That's just the way it is.
  9. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 05:12 PM) I doubt you watched Grossman play more than 1 game in College, so please just stick to the NBA. Because your argument is lunacy, no one thought Grossman was going to be any good, thats why after his Sophomore year he was projected to be a top 10 pick and after his Junior year he was drafted in the first round. But yes, no one thought a player with a solid 1st round grade would be any good. Here is the SI rating from 2003: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/...ayers/7323.html Grade: 4.15 4.99 to 4.10 -- Quality Prospect -- Someone that consistently gives good performances. Occasional Pro-Bowl appearances. This is why Grossman is a bust. Lin can never be a bust, he wasnt drafted. Nope. You generate this type of hype, you better live up to it long-term...or else.
  10. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 04:25 PM) lol This is hilarious, Rex Grossman is the complete opposite of Lin. Grossman is a BUST. Grossman being a back up is a complete failure. Lin being a back up is completely going through his ceiling. In 2006, no one was saying "OMG who is Rex Grossman, how did he do it?" In 2006 people were saying "Finally Grossman isnt injured and putting up the numbers people expected." How do you not see this? No, I see everything fine. You're the clueless one. This Jeremy Lin crap has been blown up to the point that he can't go back to being a nobody. And it's not just ESPN. This s*** is everywhere. Nba.com, si.com, sportstalk radio, u.s.a. today. He's already been on the cover of si TWICE! In three f***ing weeks. It doesn't matter that he wasn't an all-american in college. Once he comes back down to earth, it will be no different than a highly touted rookie that failed to live up to expectations. And lol@anybody thinking Rex was that good. Nobody thought that.
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 04:03 PM) No the point still makes no sense. Rex Grossman in 2006 for the first 6 games had QB ratings of (98, 148, 64, 100, 101, 10), with an 11-7 td/int ratio, that isnt the BEST QB ON EARTH, that is borderline Pro Bowl. Rex Grossman after his Sophomore season was considered the BEST QB PROSPECT IN NCAA football. Lin was never even a well rated prospect. Many people would easily believe that Rex Grossman, the 3rd highest rated QB in SEC history, would be able to have a season where he didnt even have a 2-1 td to int ratio. Many people believed Rex Grossman would be a starting QB in the NFL. None of those things apply to Lin, not one. Grossman is more like Adam Morrison, etc., guys who were extremely well known in college, expected to do big things as a pro, who just fail. Lin is the exact opposite, a guy who did very little in college and now is exceeding all expectations as a Pro. Grossman will go down as a bust, Lin never will have that tag. Oh my god you are f***ing annoying sometimes. Look, I wasn't talking about their overall pedigrees. Rex had been injured during most of his pro career prior to '06 and there was no film on him. Everybody knew (outside of moron Bears fans) that he was grossly over-performing at the start of '06. And yes, it was the first 5 games. The 6th game was the famous "they are who we thought they were" game where he threw 4 picks and looked like hippo s***. Is it the perfect comparison? No. But get off your lawyer high-horse for two seconds and stop pretending you can't see what I meant.
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 03:43 PM) Youre point is all over the place and makes no sense. Grossman was a highly rated and well known QB coming into the Pros, Lin was not. No, the point is actually simple. Rex Grossman was the best QB on earth for the first 6 weeks in 2006. Then reality hit. Jeremy Lin has looked like one of the best PGs on earth for most of the last three weeks. Reality has already started for him. Jeremy Lin went from a nice story to embarrassing spectacle. He's got his own all-star weekend press conference later tonight. Are you serious? LeBron is having one of the most spectacular seasons the game has ever seen, and Lin gets his very own press conference? Unacceptable. I cannot wait until this annoying ass mosquito is exposed.
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 03:28 PM) Wait what? Rex Grossman was a Heisman contender as a Sophmore (I believe he finished 2nd) and a 1st round draft pick after being destroyed by Zook. Grossman is in the following list of players: Six players have finished in the top three as freshmen or sophomores but never won a Heisman: Clint Castleberry, Marshall Faulk, Michael Vick, Rex Grossman, Larry Fitzgerald, and Adrian Peterson. Lin never came close to winning any major award in College Basketball. Stick to pro basketball, because Grossman was a supremely talented college player, you know the AP College Player of the Year as a Sophmore, 3rd highest rated passer in SEC history... LOL Yeah, and Adam Morrison, J.J Redick, and Tyler Hansbrough were the best college basketball players in the world at one point. Rex is too short, he doesn't have feet, he always threw off the wrong foot, etc. I don't care what he did in college. He's a below average pro.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) I'd love to see your reaction if this happened to Frank Thomas. Blasphemy. That would never happen.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) Sounds to me like the magical ride is over, he's been exposed as overrated, and we'll find him in an alley shooting up heroin soon. J4L you agree? Nope. There's no comparison between Rubio and Lin. Rubio has the prerequisite skills to be a full-time PG in the NBA. Lin reminds me of '06 Rex Grossman. Rex had 5 or 6 games in which he looked like Peyton Manning, and then reality hit hard once the league did their homework on him. This time next year, we will no longer be discussing Jeremy Lin.
  16. Go to a strip club or a whore house. They'll make you forget.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 09:28 AM) That's a fair assumption, but why isn't it a fair assumption that he'll work on his game to correct these deficiencies? Again, using Rose as an example, his first year he couldn't hit an open jump shot with much consistency. The game plan was to play off of him so he couldn't drive. Over the next two seasons he became a pretty decent shooter, especially from 3. I just see Lin's game as being correctable. Maybe he'll never be the strongest going to his left, but he can work on it and get better. He can certainly become smarter about passing the ball around as he gets more and more comfortable with his teammates and the NBA game generally. Last night a lot of his turnovers were also caused by him getting stuffed near the rim with his floaters. That was the first really physical team he's played, and they happen to be one of the best in the league. GMAB. Lin is not going to miraculously develop quickness and ball-handling at 23-years old. Those are things you either have from jump or you don't. Like Steve said, Lin's turnovers are not even NBA turnovers. Russell Westbrook turns the ball over a lot because he has suspect decision-making and at times tries to do to much. Lin's turnovers are just embarassing. He looked like Justin Bieber. No, not every team has the defensive personnel that Miami has. But there's plenty of ball-hawking, quick guards that are going to make it a priority to drape themselves all over him (without fear of getting beat off the dribble) and force him to go to his incredibly weak left-hand.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 03:06 AM) Am I the only one that watched the Heat/Knicks game and thought "The Bulls could beat both these teams"??? Wait a minute. You watched last night's game and feel MORE confident against the Heat? lol. Whatever.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 02:32 AM) When the username is "GioHudson," it's pretty clear what the agenda is from the very beginning. lol. I was surprised his/her account was approved. Had to be that Heads that approved it. Nobody is more negative than that guy.
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 09:32 PM) You can also say that as Lin learns more and practices more he will also get better. I agree. He can be the next C.J. Watson.
  21. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 09:33 PM) How many top tier PG's and elite defenses are in the league? Can only think of 5 PG's that are top tier and what maybe 4-5 elite defenses in league.... if he does well vs everyone else that still makes him pretty damn good. PG is, like, the deepest position in the game. Maybe elite wasn't the right word for overall team defenses. But teams that are quick and athletic will expose Lin more times than not.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) Since he was inserted in the starting lineup, he is averaging over 6 turnovers a game, which would break every full season record in the book. Again, he's only seen one top-tier PG and one elite defense to this point. I can't wait until this crap is over and we can get back to Heat, Bulls, Thunder and, um, I don't know who the second best team in the west is.
  23. Dwight Howard has taken 7 shots in almost 40 minutes. The Magic are 7/32 from 3. Something about that makes no sense.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) There is SOME human element to the game, right? I mean, Lin was riding pine two weeks ago and now he's in a playoff atmosphere against the best team in the NBA showing full court press on him while Carmelo stands around staring at him. The Knicks veterans need to step up and help out, because Lin is being exposed and certainly needed time to adjust. Look for a big 2nd half from Lin and Melo. Has nothing to do with human element. Unlike 2 weeks ago, there's more film of Lin and he'll start being exposed more and more (it's already started). He's not quick or athletic. He handles the ball like somebody straight out of 1975. I think he's a good shooter. He's a hack defensively (though he can rack up some steals). He's a backup long-term.
  25. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 07:23 PM) No offense man, but you have to be the most uninformed poster in this thread. In what world is 21 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, four steals and only three turnovers an ass kicking? There's this thing called guarding your man. And Lin didn't do that at all.
