2011-2012 NBA Season Thread

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) Those are two completely different things though. I'm certainly not convinced that we can beat Miami in a 7 game series but I definitely think we have a better shot this year than we did last year. Nothing wrong with anything you said here. I'm just saying hanging tough today shorthanded doesn't really prove anything in the long run. I get the feeling some are using today's game as a precursor to something bigger down the road. If you thought the Bulls could beat the Heat, you thought that way before today's game. -

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 07:04 PM) All in all, when you consider our best man defender and 2nd best player was out along with our back up PG, and the Bulls were a pair of fts from winning on the road, you gotta be optimistic going foward. Rose needs to stop choking on late game fts Meh. Again, I get the whole moral victory spin. The Bulls hung tough against a great team on the road without two key players. Then again, they still manged to lose this game with Wade, outside of a couple of fastbreak dunks, looking as bad as any player of his stature can possibly look (and it wasn't just Hamilton). It goes both ways. -
Yeah. Give Soxfan a break. This isn't like ptatc claiming that wrestling takes more skill than basketball. Oh my goodness. I would've banned him until 2030 for that comment if I were a mod.

lol. Some of you guys need to chillax (yes, I just typed that). If Juan Pierre hits a HR and I say, "Wow, what amazing power that man has," it's not supposed to be taken seriously. Felix was clearly joking. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) Even Miami couldn't, which is what was really impressive today. Also, Wade just looks like an old man trying to draw fouls. Even though Hamilton shot like crap today, he held Wade down pretty well on defense. I'll give Hamilton all the credit in the world. But Wade just looked off. He looked spectacular the other night despite just coming back from injury. But that was the Knicks (save the jokes. I know they suck). Edit: I will say that if Chris Bosh is going to consistently make a dirty diaper out of Carlos Boozer (6 games straight going back to the ECFs), I just don't see where the Bulls have enough in a playoff series. LeBron/Rose cancel each other out. Wade is going to be Wade 8-9 times out of 10. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) Rose stopped attacking for a while in the 4th and that's when Miami had that nice little lead. I just hope the missed free-throws make Derrick work even harder. He got to the line 14 times today. He only averages about 5 attempts per game, IIRC. He can do that all the time. Who can stop him? -

This was Rose's most impressive performance. He was in attack-beast mode all game. He missed like three shots he normally makes. And of course those two FTs. Good game all-around. Nothing was really proven today. If you thought the Bulls could beat the Heat, nothing that happened today, good or bad, would change your mind. -

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 04:47 PM) I am always against Rose taking massive amount of 3s a game. But if you want Rose to keep playing with this intensity, the heavy minutes, and the amount of contacts he takes every game, that's crazy. MVP, right? That's what the greats do. -

QUOTE (TheCut87 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 04:45 PM) Win or lose today you have to be impressed and think with a healthy lineup we can beat the heat Have to be careful there. Because you're making the assumption that Wade is going to play like Larry Hughes every game. -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 10:15 AM) You're telling me you put Peyton on the Browns or the Rams and they're SB contenders? I don't even think the Colts this year WITH HIM would be that good. That defense was just awful. Of course not literally every team. Prime Michael Jordan is not going to save this year's Wizards. But I'd say easily more than half the league. Put him on a team like SF? They're SB favorites.
