QUOTE (Quin @ Jan 4, 2018 -> 08:56 AM) So, who's everyone's draft board for the Bulls? I've got this order: - Ayton - Doncic - Porter - Bagley - Bamba - Young - Knox - Mikal Bridges - Jackson But damn, any of the top six would be great. Then the next three all have pretty great potential. Doncic over Bagley? You must be crazy. That would get a GM fired. Even if Doncic maxes out he's no better than Manu at his peak. And that's a hell of a player. But you're not sniffing a title with him as your centerpiece. -

Most of the top 2018 prospects went nuts yesterday. This draft upcoming went from top heavy to DEEP all around real quick. I want Ayton so bad god f***ing damnit. And there's a pretty decent chance the Celtics could get him (or Bagley) in which case I'm done with hoops until I'm 40. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2017 -> 11:56 AM) The way they're playing right now, it will take several major trades of players away from the Bulls or a major injury for this team to be thinking about a pick better than slot 10 or so. This is both a credit to Hoiberg and a reason to think the Bulls are going to be stuck drafting around #10 for a long time. They better hope they find a 2nd round bargain at some point. They're everywhere. There's never been this much talent available at any point in NBA history. Jokic? Green? IT? Middelton? That's just off the top of my head. All 2nd rounders. And I get sick to my stomach whenever I watch a Jordan Bell highlight video. This dude can play. He might make Draymond expendable when the time comes. -

QUOTE (Quin @ Dec 18, 2017 -> 06:39 PM) Has a thread ever exploded this fast then ground to a halt? I think the Miggy thread did back in '07. But that was 8 billion gallons of alcohol ago. So I could be wrong. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2017 -> 09:27 AM) Weirdest part of NBA to me has been how long it has taken some of these young teams to make “the leap” like the bulls did in 2010-11. All the hype I heard about 76ers this year and they are currently ... .500. The bucks are a few games over. The pels stay stuck mired in mediocrity. Meanwhile teams like the raptors and nuggets get way less hype and won more, though I know nuggets are where bucks are except in western conference. I guess the wizards were like that for a few years too before finally getting a top 3 seed. Well the Sixers haven't had Fultz. But even then, until Embiid is fully unleashed, they will never max out their potential. As for the Bucks, you need a healthy Jabari for them to reach their ceiling. The Pels have crap outside of the Towers and Holiday. -

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 6, 2017 -> 08:23 PM) Accidentally caught the last minute of that game...wow. Impressively bad. Valentine...just wow. They really need to get a top 3 pick and hit on it because my goodness even though I support tanking, I just cannot handle this atrociousness for so long. Kinda nervous about Doncic, though Ending up with Doncic would be a disaster. I like him. But we need game/changing, franchise caliber s***. -

Man, Deandre Ayton, are you serious? That dude was created in some lab or something. Where the hell are all these freaks comin' from? Don't let Boston get him or it's done. -

QUOTE (Da_Goob @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 09:22 PM) Maybe his best offensive year, but even then I don't think so. He takes a ton of plays off on defense now, which is reasonable, but I think it stops him from having his best year ever. I think his best year was '09. But man. When is the decline going to start? And he looks MASSIVE. I don't think he's ever been this big. -

LeBron pretty much dominated Ben Simmons tonight. I just don't get this dude. Almost 33 years old and 15 years later and he's still the best in the game by far. He's arguably having his best year. Think about that s***. Nuts. Doesn't make any damn sense. -

Um, remember when I said Porzingis was a generational talent and folks hated on me? I was wrong. He's an ALL-TIME talent. 7'3 with that skillset? Good god. I'm shook. -

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Nov 9, 2017 -> 06:45 PM) at least Chicago basketball will be relevant for one thing in 2020 It will be relevant for more than that if we land one of Porter/Bagley/Ayton. Those are three future superstars right there. -

QUOTE (Quin @ Oct 25, 2017 -> 04:23 PM) I wouldn't sleep on Doncic, Bomba is my #5 but I can see him in there. The top of this class looks absolutely absurd on paper. I like Doncic. He really impressed in the euro tourney. But the Bulls need a franchise changing player. Just in the east alone you've got Giannis/KP/Simmons/Embiid. We need a guy like that. Badly. -

QUOTE (Quin @ Oct 25, 2017 -> 09:49 AM) Yeah, Lauri has been a joy to watch. Hopefully he'll pair well with whichever one of the Big 5 the Bulls get. To me it's the Big 3. Porter/Bagley/Ayton. Pray for one of them. -

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 07:53 PM) Talk about a gut punch to the Celtics. Brutal for Hayward, hope he can come back to play at his level quickly I do like Washington and to a little lesser extent Miami. But the eastern conference champion has already been crowned with Hayward's injury. Damn shame. -

QUOTE (ron883 @ Sep 24, 2017 -> 05:04 PM) Cool I guess. The RBI is a nearly worthless stat though. Jose also came into the league older and more experience. Jose has been a solid player though. Props The RBI stat is hardly worthless. Nothing worthless about run production. It's only worthless when comparing players.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2017 -> 06:35 PM) Like I said, Devil's advocate. Was trying to see if someone would give something I haven't thought of yet. Well, and this isn't aimed at you, but it seems to me fans can't make up their mind. We complained all year about how boring last year was because you knew it was going to be Cleveland/Golden State, and now we've got teams, particularly in the west, being pro-active to compete and fans still complain. The Rockets add Paul? Oh my god - how will Paul/Harden work? Wolves add Butler? Oh my god - will he stunt the growth of Wiggins and Towns? And I've already seen loads of people question how Carmelo will fit with Westbrook and George. It's like what do people want here? You want more competition? You need to load up on all-stars in today's game. Let the coaches, etc, figure out the rest. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2017 -> 06:25 PM) Devil's Advocate. Well, Love hasn't exactly lit the world on fire in Cleveland. Is that where we think one of these 3 guys stats will go? George is playing for a contract too, so he's going to want to score as much as humanly possible. Again, if you believe the reports, George recruited Carmelo. Why would he do that if he wanted to "score as much as humanly possible?" Why would Carmelo waive his NTC to go to a team with the reigning MVP and another all-star if he didn't want to adjust his game to win? I think you're overthinking things here. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2017 -> 06:12 PM) Additional post: strategery. Anyone want to speculate on how well Melo and Westbrook will work together? Honestly, I don't think there will be any problem at all. Adjustments? Sure. But when the three teams, reportedly, that you were willing to waive your NTC for feature LeBron, Love, IT, Harden, Paul, Westbrook and George, that shows me that you're willing to put personal s*** aside and finally win something in your career. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 23, 2017 -> 02:06 PM) I like where Bulls trade Taj, Dougie and a second round pick for Cam Payne while Presti trades Kanter, Dougie and a second round pick for Melo To be fair, Melo's no trade clause (nice move, Phil) handicapped the Knicks big time. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2017 -> 01:42 PM) We'll be so happy for you if and when Avi sucks again and you are right about him. Congrats in advance. And we'll be just as happy for you if and when the rebuild fails (it won't) so you can say you were right. Oh, that's right. You gave yourself the right to jump on the bandwagon if the rebuild is a success.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2017 -> 02:36 PM) They got the NBA's leading scorer. As much as you want to undersell Thomas, he is Derrick Rose in his prime. Westbrook led the league in scoring. And I know 2011 was a lifetime ago. But GMAB. Rose > Thomas without hesitation.
