QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 7, 2017 -> 08:14 PM) I read this and then think of all of the times you tell me that this is the greatest era of basketball ever. When the season and the first three rounds of playoffs mean don't mean anything and are uninteresting, yet this is the greatest ? Stylistically, speed, skill, athleticism, schemes, etc. it is the greatest. I'm talking competition right now. We're going on a decade of not a single legitimate eastern conference team emerging (Rose's initial injury has had something to do with this) to challenge LeBron. And that trick ass s*** KD pulled last summer has totally f***ed everything up. We should be getting ready for an epic rematch of OKC/GS and instead we're going to get GS and the fricken boring as s*** limp dick Spurs. Sad. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 7, 2017 -> 07:24 PM) These playoffs legit suck so far. Had high hopes for this round and holy disappointment. Notice I haven't been posting nearly as much in here as I usually do come playoff time? I'm just waiting for the finals. The regular season and first 3 rounds of the postseason mean nothing. What's sad is this could be the case for the next couple years as long as LeBron is still LeBron and the Warriors are running 4 of the top 15 players in the game out there every night. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 3, 2017 -> 04:55 PM) You've flip flopped on the Cavs like 47 times this season. Now this is going to be the greatest NBA finals of all time? That was before playoff LeBron emerged. I didn't think he had THIS in him at this stage of his career. -

QUOTE (Sox-35th @ May 3, 2017 -> 04:03 PM) What is the process for changing fanbases? Is it complicated? No need to do that. Just marvel at the current NBA as a whole for the time being. We're about 5-6 weeks away from what is shaping up to be the greatest nba finals of all-time. The Bulls, at some point, will get with the times. Can't be this inept forever. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 23, 2017 -> 08:13 PM) Super disappointed in myself for coming in this thread when I said i wouldn't before the offseason. Oh well, fire Hoiberg and this roster prolly gets us to the finals. Is LeBron dead in this hypothetical? -

Clippers are a joke. Gobert gets injured and has to leave 13 seconds into the game and they still find a way to lose at home. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 05:04 PM) LeBron is LeBron so I know better than to count Cleveland out but I really don't think they're going to be able to flip this defensive switch like some people have thought would happen. Toronto or Boston might just come out of the east. There's no defensive switch to be flipped when five of your top ten rotation players are Love, Irving, Korver, Deron Williams and Frye. Not to mention LeBron is 32 (more like 35 in basketball wear and tear) and Richard Jefferson is 50. They'll beat the Pacers. But The Raptors/Wizards are both, IMO, capable of taking them out. -

QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 08:39 PM) The worst part about this Cubs ceremony is it's likely the first of a few Wait till they flip Jiminez/Happ for pitching. #facepalm. Unbelievable what they've done the last 5 years.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 02:28 PM) Nope need more than a DH This. If we're a contender and have elite SP depth and a bat away then adios Quintana. But we're in full rebuild mode and nothing less than a bounty for Jose will suffice.

you're not going to like this, rowand44. But Kyle Schwarber eats baseballs and has me shooker than any player in baseball sans Mike Trout.

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 29, 2017 -> 11:18 AM) Denver played Portland last night. Nurkic has been killing it since the trade. Gary Harris looks like he could be a 20 point scorer someday. Jusuf's line since trade: 15.0/10.4/3.3/1.2/1.9 That's in just over 29 MPG. Gary Harris would be a 20 point scorer right now on a lot of teams. It's just that Denver is loaded with scorers, especially at wing/guard. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 01:56 PM) Eh, I don't know. Then Lebron turns into a center fielder roaming the defense and wreaking havoc in passing lanes and blocking shots and suddenly teams can't score. Maybe this is the year he falls off but I'm not betting on it. It's hard, cavs have been working on the art of winning enough in the regular season. Lakers in early 2000s did this but it did eventually catch up to them, when they couldn't turn it on anymore. I just hope we get Wizards/Cavs at some point. LeBron wouldn't even be the show in that one. Wall/Irving for a potential 7 games is box office. -

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 09:14 AM) So are the Cavs going to make it out of the east? They're pretty terrible on defense. 2nd worst defense in the nba since the all-star break and 22nd overall. LeBron gets the benefit of the doubt as he's made the finals every year since the decision. But this is looking like it's going to be A LOT more difficult than it's been for any of his teams during this run. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 12:57 PM) Amen. Of course you are right. Blowing it up is not the right thing to do for the Sox franchise. There are other ways to rebuild. Like spend spend spend for proven players and make a few smart trades.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 22, 2017 -> 03:18 PM) They said adios to Michael not because he killed Kwami Brown. A lot of people apparently killed him. They got rid of him because they got him to play, make the team some money and didn't want to give him back his piece at the same price. Michael got played in DC. If McGrady could play, and he could, he would have been fine with Michael, although his first season he struggled a bit, and Michael would have been gone. But it retrospect, the Bulls got another title, and that would have been the max if the had made the trade, and if they made the trade, they might not have won #6. I saw McGrady on ESPN a few weeks ago and he was talking about that near trade. He said at the time potentially being traded for Scottie Pippen freaked him out. So it probably wouldn't have been MJ that killed him if he didn't become a player. To my knowledge, Michael was the only one that called Kwame a flaming f***ing f**got. Michael had no worth to Washington outside of that of a player, He's a terrible talent evaluator (he thinks every NC guy can play), he was not going to lure any marquee FAs and his personality is no match for the modern young player. Even in Charlotte they had to literally sit him down and say to him "hey, it's a different era, let basketball people do basketball stuff and you sign the checks." Not an exact quote but something like that. 35 year old-MJ after 5 rings would've likely ruined 18-year old t-mac.
